This is my 3rd Avalanche, and by far it doesn't get any better than this. I had a 03,05 and now 07,and it is well worth it.

Compromised with my wife. I always had SUV's Pathfinders. She dreaded a pick up, drives BMW's she found it and fell in love. A woman helped desighn it. Mine is totally loaded . rear camera is a must. Step up elec bars help with children and seniors. The 4-8 cylinder change I heard from my dealer is inadequate. Even after 5,000 miles and babying the gas pedal 13-14 in the city, Don't believe the sticker if that matters to you. Love the three section bed. Can take it to a 5 star resuraunt or to our farm 400 miles away at 90mph on the Turnpike. A great truck over all. I just see it more a s a "luxury pick up SUV " than a work truck. Leather is a must....read morehide

2007 LTZ 2wd with 6.0L engine, currently at 485 miles the economy seems to be a little better than the 2005 GMC Sierra 4wd with 5.3L that I traded in. First tank indicating 16.8 combined at aprox. 80 mph.
I would suggest the 6.0 engine to anyone looking for a little better acceleration and towing.
The New features on this vehicle are a vast improvment such as: Brakes, steering, handling, the new interior feels very upscale like an expensive lux car. and the new exterior really caught my eye with the LTZ package.
The Navigation is easy to reach and operate with touch screen and the integrated Bose stereo with XM sounds superb and is easy to use as well.
The new suspension is what really makes this truck shine, just a few minute test drive will suprise you.
The new rack steering is fantastic as well...it feels tight like a smaller upscale car.
The brakes have a very confident feeling with really good pedal pressure.
So far there is No wind niose or rattles, squeeks, groans and I'am very picky.
The economy isnt too bad for such a large truck and it may improve with time, the window sticker states 19 mpg., and I feel it will do it if you drive with care but I observed 16.8-17.7 on my first tank and was pushing it a little.
I would suggest to anyone in the market for a new truck to take an Avalanche for a long test drive....read morehide

All in All, satisfied with my first Chevy vehicle. It's got to be the best looking truck on the market. Has a little more body roll in the turns than anticipated. Should've been a little harder on the test drive. Good visibility on either side but tough through the back window. Rides nice and smooth. Thank god for Chevy Red Tag and end of year or price would've been too high. $35.5K for fully loaded LTZ....read morehide

I just bought this truck (9/28/06) and I'm in love with it! Best vehicle I've ever owned. I've owned multiple Explorers and Ford products and this vehicle leaves them in the dust. I have the LTZ pkg but no NAV system. Gold mist w/ ebony interior. The remote start is a cool little feature. XM radio is great, very plush interior, smooth quiet ride. 20" rims make the truck look tough, but classy. Get plenty of looks riding down the road. E85 is going to be cool if we ever get an ethanol station here, but the active fuel mgmt syst. delivers on the advertised gas mileage and doesn't affect performance at all. 100k warranty on drive train is a plus. Overall awesome truck that I would recommend to anyone out there. GREAT JOB Chevy...read morehide
