I Love This Truck! Great on the Hwy & Great Off-Road. Fun to drive, tons of power, loads of extras, hard to beat for the money. Drive the Tundra, Ram, or F-150 and then do yourself a favor and drive the Silverado before ou buy.

Bought the Silverado over the Tundra or F-150 because it was a much better designed truck with better, fresher dash design, more rugged looks, quieter and better ride and more engine power than the Ford and better mileage than the Tundra. And to all the owners complaining about mileage: wait until the 5.3 engine breaks in before banning it for being poor. My mileage started out at 14-15 and is now 17-18 combined with 15,200 miles! It seems to be getting better and better as time goes on. The seats are very comfortable and unlike the Tundra, I actually have more headoom with the seat all the way down.
Test drive all 3 trucks for yourself and see that the Silverado/Sierra is the way to go....read morehide

Just bought the 07 LT1 Z71 4X4 crew cab two weeks ago. This is the first new vehicle I've owned in 14 years and to say I am pleased is an understatement. The 5.3 litre motor has more than enough power and torque. I was concerned about reports of transmission noise but I have not found this in my truck. My first trip on the interstate turned 20 MPG. I get 16MPG around town. I was lucky to get 16MPG in my Dakota on the highway. I have an enormous amount of room inside the truck. Plenty of room for my 2 year old and 100 lbs Chesapeake Bay Retriever. (Once the cap gets put on the dog will ride in the bed.) The ride is smooth, hadling is crisp. The seats are comfortable and there is zero road noise. Over all, I'm very satisfied with this truck and look for it to last me at least ten years. My only complaint is you have to turn the foglamps on every time you start the truck. I would prefer a setting that would keep them on continually unless I choose to shut them off....read morehide

E-85 MPG is about the same as unleaded. 1/10 mpg less on E-85, 40 cents cheaper per gallon. I added a bed cover, that really helped the fuel milage, gained about 3/10 MPG. Pulled my 30 ft RV with no problems. (is equipped with trailering package) Great ride, lots of room, lots of pep.Tranny shifts fine....read morehide

Them Tundra people don't know the truth about true American trucks. They are jeaulous. This are truck.
Unlike the Tundra, Chevy is a real american truck. Tundra is a japenese truck. Chevy is better.
If you look at the facts, The silverado has less horsepower than Tundra but yet tows more, better mpg, and better price. This truck is less expensive than a Tundra, so why get a Tundra than when your better truck is here. Toyota should just leave the truck arena and go back to their dorky Pruises and corollas. They don't know how to make a truck. The chevy is way better looking than that whale Tundra. No styling to the Tundra, just looks like a big whale.
One disadvantage about the silverado is the room, but yet a good truck.
Chevy is crowned the winner of the trucks!...read morehide

I got to drive the new Tundra Limited 4 door 4WD with 5.7 liter V8 and this Silverado 4WD 4 door with 5.3 back to back. The Silverado beat the Tundra in front seat room, headroom for my 6'2" height, better rear visibility, better ride, much better dash layout, quieter engine and ride, lower price for roughly the same equipment, nicer exterior styling and better fuel economy so I bought one. I have owned this truck for 5K miles and have never regretted it thus far. The gas mileage was bad at first but after break in it has got much better and will see over 20 on a trip, a pipe dream for the Tundra. The Tundra also doesn't offer an automatic AWD setup like the Silverado....read morehide

I just traded in my 2005 Chevy silverado duramax diesel. Truck was lifted with $12,000 in aftermarkets. Extremely powerful truck. I traded in on my 2007 Chevy silverado LT1 crew cab 6.0 vortex max. I have only 284 miles on the truck but I think I made a smart choice.
The ride is excellent on this truck! It is so smooth and the 6.0 vortec max is the way to go. I test drove the 5.3 and could tell night and day difference between the 5.3 and the 6.0. I almost didnt buy the 6.0 because the truck I looked at had the 4:10 gear ratio. Fuel mileage would suck. It looks like Im going to be at 14.5 on my first tank. I heard horror reports of 10.2-12.0. Im sure you will get that if you cant control you right foot but with occasional romping on it I would estimate a 13.5 MPG. If your going to buy a full size truck you are not getting it for fuel mileage. Now this truck is nowhere near as powerful as my Duramax but it has plenty of power and is extremely more driveable. If you are in the situation I was in just 3 days ago, then do it!
The only downfall is it only has the 4 speed auto. But the new 6 speed just came out and wont be offered for 2 more years in the silverado. I have personally talked to people who have had problems with the new tranny. Give them the two years and the bugs will be worked out. Which is fine with me cause my truck has the active fuel management which will switch it from running from a V-8 to a V-4.
Hey bottom line is this truck is not perfect but nothing in life is. This is the best all round truck out of the 8 I have owned in the last 6 years....read morehide

Handles very well for Z-71, stiff but smooth enough for every day driving. Optional Z-71 18" wheels fit the truck (not too big or too small). Heated washer fluid is great for those snowy/icy days. 5.3 liter fuel mileage is on par with estimates, 16 in the city. 4-speed tranny is great (more gears = more searching and shifting to find the right gear while driving). Interior is comfortable, refined, and roomy with tons of storage and amenities. Great road view. Towing and hauling capacities are good for what I will use it for (basically if your going to tow/haul a 30-foot boat or 10 snowmobiles would opt for the 6.0 L w/ HD towing package or the HD Truck). Very versatile with a good combination of fuel mileage, luxury, toughness, and capability. Accessories look great. EXCELLENT truck for the driving challenges of Alaska....read morehide
