Write a ReviewI traded a 2001 just like this, It was flawless. It had 174,000 miles. It still had the original front brakes. Still a good truck but I wanted a new one. There are many improvements over the 2001 model. It rides smoother. It seems faster and it has better visibility. The bed is quite a bit deeper. Sometimes that is good and sometimes it is not. I am tall and I could get anything out of the old truck, no matter where it was in the bed. The new truck can be harder, especially if the part is in the very center of the bed.
The small windows on the swing-out back doors roll all the way down and they are electric.
The new truck is about the same, except the mileage is a little better. I get about 18.5 in the city and about 20.5-21 on the highway. It is very comfortable. I bought it in December, 2007 and I feel as if I got a very good deal. It has a number of feathers that I would not have opted for but they were on the truck. It has anti-skid, adjustable pedals, and a backup alarm. I also would not have opted for the fog lamps, but I must say that they are very good in the rainy/foggy weather. It also has XM radio. I think I really enjoy that a lot. I also liked the fact that the Chevrolet had multiple options for the rearend. I chose the 3.42, but they also had a 3.73 and a 4.11 , I think. The Toyota only had the 4.10 available. I don't tow anything. I only haul stuff in the bed. That makes a large difference with the mileage.
Overall, this has been a great truck. I looked at the Ford F150 (bad mileage, but a very nice truck.), Dodge (Cheap $$ but seemed cheaply made), Toyota (poorer mileage , nice truck but way too expensive) I also looked at the Nissan ( Not well rated)and the Honda( don't need or want 4WD, too expensive).
The 07 Chevy was also the Truck of the year. I am very pleased with the vehicle. I also tended to lean that way because of the experience with the previous 2001 model....read morehide

good power, lots of room in the extended cab for the kids in the back. you should definetly consider this truck if you are in the market. fuel consumption is as advertised, but for a 8 cylinder it is decent. if you are worried about gas prices, get a 5.3 with active fuel management. i definetly recommend this truck and would buy another. i paid under $25K and feel it's a great value....read morehide

Warranty and looks are what sold me on the 07 New Body Style Silverado. Gas mileage has been over 20mpg on highway a big plus.
I have had Fords, Dodge and Chevy before, this ranks the best yet. I wanted a Titan but the gas mileage is horrid. Blue granite in color is different.
I have the 4.8 V-8 and pulls hard....read morehide

Really not very happy with this truck, It looks good and rides good, but is all show and no go....the rear end sags with 200 lbs in bed, truck runs a 3500 rpms on highway with a 1200 lbs trailer attached, and even with hitch equilizer, still sags.... I tried to pull a n empty 2 horse aluminum trailer and went home for the old truck.....in contrast have 2006 V6 silverado thats a great truck and handles it all well....this 2007 classic with 5.3 V8 bites!!!!!! If you just want to drive around town fine...anything else and this truck wimps out big time!!!!...read morehide

Seems like a strong truck. I got the v-6 4.3 lt. great tourque. Engine sometimes sounds like it struggles because it dropped gears and ran about 1100 rpms. Usually in city going about 40, which is good for gas mileage but might strain engine before it upshifts. Desent turning radius. Getting the right gas mileage. Cigarette lighter worked the first week, now doesn't. Overall I like it. Way better than my trade-in '96 Dodge Ram. That thing stunk! I like the 17in rims. Just got my first oil change at 4000 mi. Only had it for 4 weeks. Still runs and feels new. Great high way driving, not much city. I recomment it. will write after 10,000mi....read morehide
