Looks, 4 wheel - Snow power, Features are ok

Bumpy ride, Shifts Hard even after calibration done, lots of noises

Purchased 1/26/08 with 35k miles, lots of little noises coming from the engine, service dept at dealership couldn't find anything, engine hates the defrost, had transmission recalibrated 2/13/08 because of rough shifting usually from 2nd to 3rd when accelerating, still happens, apparently this is happening to a lot of Escapes? Have new Continental tires, still noisy. Finds every bump & crack in the road but when the surface is smooth the vehicle drives smooth and reminds me of how much fun it is to be in a SUV. So much better then the 2005 Malibu I just got rid of, still think I made a great choice in the Escape and got a ok deal on the price. $30 gives me 1/2 tank and about 200 miles in average driving, not too impressed yet on the mileage. Will have to drive this for the next 5+ yrs so lets pray it lasts!...read morehide

good on fuel for an suv, smooth ride and drives great in snow and is nice to look at inside and out.

love it, i was stuck between this and a santa fe after driven the santa fe then this there wasn't much of a choice left. great all around hard to be this kind of quality

Looks really cute, has intellegent 4wd, not too bad on gas for an SUV

After only 16,000 miles it started having problems with starting.

I've taken this car in 4 times for the same problem and they dont know whats causing it! Soo Irriatating! I dont think i'll ever buy a ford again. And now i'm trading it in for something more reliable...

For the money this is the best car that I have ever bought. There is planty of room for me, my wife and two kids.

I recently drove it cross country on vacation and it drove smooth at high speeds. Great acceleration at 70 MPH fir the Chicago tollways.

I was skeptical about buying a Ford but they have now one me over.

I also need to compliment Car Max since they gave me a good deal with all details out the open. I visited several Ford dealerships in the Louisville area and couldn't find even one that I didn't feel dirty doing business with.

Great fuel milage..., great features, handles great, sooth ride, great turning radius.

The car is great all around... great for a pserson to drive to work and take friends out. The SUV rides like a car, I have a bad back and can't take a rough ride. I like the options on the seat to rais or lower. The look is even better if fitts almost all personalities.

The fuel econmy is great, I get about 22 to 23 miles to a gallon and that is with having my foot in it!!! That is my Taurus that I had before, and I drove it like a angel...

Great Milage, Quiet, Roomy, Smooth Ride

Wish I would have goten more options- my fault

I got the 4 cylinder. I actually get over the EPA estimated milage by about 3 miles per gallon. Pretty smooth ride and very roomy. Only negative is I got the base model and wish I would have got more upgrades.

i love it...nice affordable ride without pouring your pockets into the gas tank. Tank is about the same size as the same midsized sedan I traded it for!

Sold it after 9 months, I wouldn't recommend this vehicle. It seems like you are getting a great car for the money but after driving it you realize that you get what you pay for.

Tire noise horrendous, at 12,000 mi. I'm sure Ford is aware of this issue after all the complaints .

But They do anything about this ,need a recall on this issue , thats probably why there not selling alot of cars.

Ford in general needs to improve the transmissions on how they shift

I down sized from a Ford Explorer I can't complain about my 2007 escape it's great on gas and fun to drive, easy to park and navigate. The only con I have is if your looking for steel around you for safety in an accident, this is not for you. The doors seem very light. They should have added side air bags in all their models. But then again I'm coming from an Explorer....read morehide
