Very nice ride for a mini SUV. Has less noise then my 2005 Explorer XLT. Bought it yesterday, and the computer is already averaging 19.5 GPM and climbing. The computer also says a full tank gets approx 440 miles and to fill it up only cost 37 dollars at 2.91/gal. Was showing a friend how the engine helps the battery when needed and squealled the tires at the stop sign, oops. The only way I can tell the motor is running is by the Tach in the dash board. I can't wait to take it for a long trip and see how it does. Thank You Beach Ford and Bill Batten(Sales Person) in Virginia Beach....read morehide

The hybrid power management system is seemless, and the CVT transmission is flawless. On the pre-buy test drive I asked my sales rep about acceleration. He answered the question by burning rubber from a dead stop. On the freeway this vehicle still has plenty of punch left to pass at freeway speeds.
The EH is confortable, just the right size and satisfactorily quiet. With the current $2600 tax credit this vehicle becomes reasonably priced, and the total cost of ownership is in line with its less efficient competitors.
Only real objection is the lack of little interior storage compartments. The passenger and cargo areas are just fine, but I am used to a few more cubby holes. Not a big deal compared to this vehicles value, but hopefully Ford will pay a little more attention to this problem in future models....read morehide

I just bought my 2007 Escape Hybrid 2 days ago and I love it! I am suprised that I have been maintaining 35 mpg despite all of the reviews stating that Ford's claim of 36 mpg is unrealistic. I have a friend who has had hers for a year and she claims to get 38 mpg. I am sure it depends on the driver and the terrain in which the vehicle is driven.
I am 6'3 and was concerned at the overall space that the vehicle might lack for a tall driver. However, my back feels much better and I am far more confortable than I ever was in my 1992 Mercedez.
I have been waiting for two years now before making this purchase. I first researched the Escape Hybrid back in 2004 before it was released. I have also researched both the Toyota & Lexus Hybrid Suv versions. I am convinced that the Escape is a better value and more confortable than either one of these other options. It gets better gas milege and has larger interrior space demensions. In addition, the reviews on the Escape are much better.
It is the best decision I could have made in purchasing a new vehicle and I am very happy....read morehide

We bought this car to be the wife's work car and it has swiftly become the car we both love to drive over the other 3 vehicles we have. I love everything about it! It definately brought the love of driving back into my life! When the wife and I go out for for dinner, there is NO question which car we take now. The only question we do have is who gets to drive, which now turns into mild races between us for the car keys. This car is the dream of a car I never thought I would find. If Ford wanted 10,000 more for this baby, I would gladly lay the money down. How can you price comfort, stability, control, safety and ecstatic joy? Ontop of the special feeling I get from this baby, the list grows with all the features. I average 34 miles to the gallon! My baby guides me home thru her cooing GPS voice. I intentionally got lost twice, but she flawlessly lead me back home. The great sound system makes even talk radio and commercials bearable. Slipping in a classic Bob Seeger cd and I feel a door to heaven has opened. The tax CREDIT is just icing on the cake. My kid's friends think I'm awesome for going green. My 12 year old thinks I might have a brain after all. My neighbors stare and I saw one licking his lips in envy. I need to thank you Ford, or should I call you Genie? You made my wish come true!...read morehide

Just bought my hybrid yesterday, and I'm very excited about it! I want to drive everywhere! Glad I chose a Hybrid, everyone can do their part to better our earth, if they'd be a little less selfish. I really can't wait to drive it everywhere!

I just bought my 2007 last night so i haven't driven but 50 miles. We looked at the Suburu Forrester in the search for a smaller SUV with good gas mileage. This car was much more comfortable. I like the idea that I am going to be averaging well in the 30's for gas mileage. Think about how much gas money you will be saving and the Hybrids arent as expensive as many think.
The car is very stripped down inside. It seems it wouldnt hurt them to add a few things to make it look les bare. Back seat air or even a back seat compartment. something, i just cant figure where im going to put everything.
I hope im happy, the comfort level will be determined as I rack up hours behind the wheel.
Nice 6Cd stereo is always a plus!!!...read morehide

ditto. people should think about fuel ecocomy and what good for the environment, rather than buying car that is big and powerful, which could be dangerous for the occupant and other drivers on the road.

I understand what the other guy is saying. The truth is the Hylander is about 10000 more dollars than the Escape. You are actually paying for the horsepower if you thin of it. Another thing is the Escape has about 4 more miles per gallon than the Hylander. So I think it is a pretty good comparison. And (if you live in the US) your grandchildren will thank you....read morehide
