Very rough ride, dealer says not suspension and not covered by warranty , told me to get new tires after 20000 miles, he was rightr i needed them. poor gas mileage for only average power...I want to trade it in but am shocked at how much car has depreciated in value. woe is me

it is very stylish and comfortable. I think this car is a great buy because it is a very good car for a very good price.

As a former technician for Jaguar USA, I have to say how much I love the car brand. The tradition, the heritage, the great appeal, and the new Xk and XF are amazing! When working at the dealership I loved getting an XJ for service which only mostly came in for services not too many repairs. The XJ, in my opinion, is the best of the best. The reason for this post is to recommend against getting the X-Type. The model was always the "Bread and Butter" of the shop. If our hours were down we could always count on an X-Type to roll in for repairs. I appreciate the desire for Jaguar to create an entry level car, but remember that in order to do this, Jaguar had to cut corners. The Jaguar quality is just not there. The car does not fit the Companies tradition and heritage. I do like however the ease of repairing the car. Removing an X-type dash,r carpet, or transmission is fairly simple. For the consumer, I dont recommend purchasing a used X-type out of warranty. If you do buy a new one, make sure you purchase the Extended Warranty! You will need it. Also, my last tip, when buying a car of this guage, DONT bring it to "Bobs Auto Repair" for service. Realize that you bought a luxury vehicle that requires the quality servicing found only in a Jaguar approved service facility. The technicians there know what goes wrong with these vehicles and can help prevent major repairs down the road. Thank You. God bless....read morehide

I'm not too pleased wtih the Gas Mileage and maintenance can be a bit pricey

Let me start this review by saying this:

"Prior to driving a Jaguar, I drove a Honda Accord so please be considerate!"

I drive a 2004 Jaguar X-type 3.0 AWD and this car is simply amazing! The horses in the engine must have been well fed because all you have to do if you need to accelerate rather quickly is to press the "S" button. This puts the car in "Sports Mode" and this allows the engine to fully maximize it power thus making your Jaguar very fast!

Since I've gotten this car, I get compliments everyday and I've never been more confident. However, I'm not too pleased with the Gas Mileage but I can live with that.

In summary, ask yourself, how many BMWs and Mercedes will you see on the streets or freeways within 5 miles? Now ask yourself; how many Jaguars do you see in the same stretch? Your new jaguar...like no other....read morehide

The only problem was it continues to pull to the right.

This is exactly what I have been looking for. It is just the right size for me as I am 5'3". I still have plenty of room for the baby in the back and all of her equipment. I know this is not a good selling feature but I like not seeing myself on the road a lot!

Bought my beautiful X-Type with 40K miles on it. Best advice: find a CERTIFIED JAG MECHANIC...this will only save you time, money, and heartache in the longrun. Do not trust that the mechanics at the dealership have been trained by Jaguar for repair. Car has been very dependable, performs beautifully, 3rd Jag I've owned (out of an XJS & XJ6), definately the best. These cars do require more maintenance than a Honda, but if you want something a little different, a definite must!...read morehide

Some Fords look simular, but when you get in this car; trust me it's nothing like a Ford.

Mine is a 2004. Beautiful Radiance Red (the darker red) with Ivory interior. This car has done me well so far. It looks absolutly beautiful, handles well in all conditions, i even upgraded the brakes with slotted and crossed drilled rotors with ceramic pads to improve braking. The performance is great in any sort of traffic. Everytime I fill up for gas or anywhere i go i get a compliment, and the gas usage is great for a vechile of this kind. Factory Sound system is good but i'd recommend the 320watt Alpine system. All the interior controls are easily defined and opperable, and the inside is so classy with the wood grain and comfortable leather. One thing I like about the color of mine is i rarely ever see one simular on the road so you stand out really well. Its a shame these cars get such bad reviews because its absolutly an awesome car to own and drive, and you'll only know that if you actually get behind the wheel yourself....read morehide

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this sports car, I have driven Lexus sport coupes for the last several years, I thought I'd always drive them however, after sliding around the wintery roads I decided I wanted something sporty and one that I could feel safe in while driving around on snow covered roads enter the JAGUAR. I have a 2004 X-type. It handels great love the all wheel drive. Women seem to love it too. I bought it with 6000 miles and have a full warranty. Jaguar has the best service 1-800-Jaguar. They take care of everything. Even when I had an accident where my gas tank was damaged they were there for me. I have the sport tires but wish I had the sports package.Black with cream interior. It did need a new gas tank,transmission and a battery all covered under warranty....read morehide
