I love this car!! I get 32mpg in the city and 27mpg on the highway. It is so comfortable to ride in.

Cons

The Lexus SUVs have a bad blind spot, and the tires wear out quickly.

This is the best car I have ever driven, other than the blind spot. I have since gotten used to it, though . It has a great ride and is exactly what you would want in a luxury SUV. When I compare mpg with my friend's BMWs and Mercedes SUVs, I win hands-down! Of course, the fact that it is good for the environment helps, too....read morehide

Braking takes some minor getting use to. But overall car is great.

There are many things to like about the RX400h hybrid. Better fuel Economy, smooth quite ride, many luxury features, heated seats, 6 disk CD player, Driver preset seating, multi point adjustable seats, elecric lumbar support for driver and passenger, GPS system, Headlights that turn into the turn, fog lights, sensors on the wipers, rear window wiper, large glove compartment, adjustable middle console, bucket seats, rear camera and more.

Overall this is a luxury car that is a huge step up from my old 99 Camry XLE. The Hybrid price is steep but worth it if you own the car. I own cars for 8-9 years so I will get the money back in gas costs, which will only go up....read morehide

i tried this on lease just to have a a first hand evaluation how it performs; well it is made by cherry of china alright and sold at sky high price by toyota under lexus logo purportedly a luxury trim;
no perpormer, no brainer at all!

I'm a "car man" and buy a new car at least once a year. My wife was driving a Infiniti G35 and decided to try a "green" ride. So we traded the sportscar, which I thought was a mistake, on a little SUV and its been a pleasant surprise.

We currently own a 2006 BMW 5501, 1956 Porchse Speedster, 1974 Landcruiser, and 2007 Tahoe Z71; when it comes time to get on the rode we seem to always take the Lexus. For a small SUV its roomy, quiet, smooth and easy to drive. We might actually hold on to this one for a while....read morehide

Great ride, attractive, reliable vehicle.

I average 25 mpg in Buffalo, which I consider to be very fuel efficient for a high performance car. I'm pleased with the dealership and have had no problems with the car since it's purchase a year ago. I'm pleased with the purchase and would buy the car again.

Sub-Par Gas Mileage

I bought the 06 RX400h thinking it would get 31 mpg in the city and 27 on the highway. Well this is what the car was rated at. After 15k now I avg. 23.5-25 MPG. **ALWAYS** I do primarily city driving so I am surprised the numbers are not higher. Had I known this car would not save that much gas mileage over the regular vehicle I would not have purchased.

Also, been fairly disappointed with my local service on this vehicle. Maybe I didn't know what to expect because this is a luxury brand, I thought I would be treated like a King but no it's not like that. I found a problem with the brakes , where the car would lunge forward when initially braking. Reported it to Lexus who claimed they couldn't do anything because whenever I brought the car in it wasn't able to duplicate on test ride. Well it was a very intermittent but annoying thing. I had to live with it for like 4000+ miles until finally lexus came out with a "service bulletin" for the fix. Apparently, lots of others reported same problem and they eventually fixed it. My lexus service shop treated me like a i was crazy and every time I brought it in they wouldn't do anything to fix it. I eventually got lucky on the service bulletin as they never acknowledged there as a problem with the braking system....read morehide

Transmission is different for a non-hybrid vehicle

I needed a vehicle that was more fuel efficient. The 400h gets between 26 -29 MPG which is about double of my previous vehicle (~14.5 – 16 MPG), big saving on gas at $3.25/gallon. I waited a long time (1 1/2years) before purchasing this vehicle so I could thoroughly research the Lexus/Toyota hybrid technology. new model brakes kinda rough, but its broken in now and feels great.

this car is my first purchase, and i am fully satisfied with this purchase. i have about 800 miles on the car right now, and on the 15 gallon tank, im getting about 300 miles. i havent really broken the car fully in, and it has been hot in los angeles, so i am using the air conditioner, so im not getting full value for miles right now.

Reserve light comes on at 20% fuel remaining. Confusing center dash layout.

In Hong Kong where gas is 6 US dollars per gallon, the hybrid drive technology is paying off. We average equivalent of 27 mpg. overall. Name another 4 liter SUV that can do the same.

Great ride, very smooth takeoff, very economical, uses regular gas

Hybrid car at a great value. Good service at Lexus dealer. Extremely easy to drive and good navigation system.
