This SUV drives and handles like a charm. A bargain compared to others in the market for what you get.
Could use a standard running board to make it easier for small children to get in the vehicle.
2007 model did not change for the 2008 year.

I just bought this car today. I ended up getting the Grand Touring FWD with DVD player and the GPS. I was shopping for a SUV for about 3 months and this one was the best. I still cant get over all the options and awesome look for such a good price. I was comparing it with the Audi Q7, and I like the Mazda much better! I went to the Orlando dealership, Holler/Classic. I was so impressed with the sales, financing, and management there. I would recommend anyone....read morehide

The CX-9 is without a doubt, the best CUV out there. Mazda made the right move pairing the Japanese transmission with the Ford engine because this thing is great to drive. Drove all of the American competitors and although the GMs were larger, the drive didn't even come close to the CX-9. The CX-9 is quick and smooth even up in the mountains. The Acadia and the Outlook spent the entire trip looking for the right gear which got annoying in a hurry. The Ford Edge (same power plant as the CX-9 but with the US Transmission) was okay but it was smaller and lacked even the option for a third row. The Acura and the BMW beat the CX-9 for performance but the price on the CX-9 was the best across the board. The Volvo was nice but too expensive as well.
The CX-9 is very comfortable as we've proven with several road trips carrying 5 large adults and two kids. It didn't take a PhD to figure out how to get into the third row unlike in its American rivals. There are enough power outlets for games and DVD players. The GPS is okay but back-up camera, Bluetooth and of course the Bose are awesome. The power hatch is a nice touch too.
The only things that would have been a nice addition would have been LCD screens in the headrests for an entertainment option with the moon roof and maybe a trip computer.
Overall, the size, comfort and ride really set this CUV apart from the rest. 7000+ miles in three months and we are loving it....read morehide

I have a 2008 CX-9 Touring model with moon roof and in-dash 6-CD stereo. It's a lot of vehicle for around $33K. Rides like a sedan with good handling and power. Super quiet and smooth on highways. Interior is stylish and functional and has the look and feel you'd expect in a BMW or Mercedes. Plenty of room in 2nd row - even behind a 6'2" driver. Rear climate control and cupholders/armrest are clutch. I was close to buying a Mercedes R-320 but I think a comparably equipped CX-9 is just as nice for about $15K less -plus you won't be held hostage to the dealer for repairs and maintenance like you are with a BMW/Mercedes/Audi. I got AWD for snow and ice travel and I haul a rock band and equipment around. I couldn't bring myself to buy a minivan and the CX-9 was a perfect match....read morehide

Very sharp inside and out. Rides beautifully. Love the bose sound system, rear view camera, and keyless entry. Very classy with the chrome finish and dual exhaust.

Is way better than the ford edge or any thing out there. Is not small or big it just right and still can fit 7 people. In Comfort is a plus it's fun to drive easy to park.It took 2 mouth to find the right car for the right price and 6hrs it the dealer on a Sat. I would do it all over again if I had to buy this car....read morehide

Outstanding car for the money. Just traded in my BMW X5 for the CX 9. The CX 9 is a much better car than the BMW X5. Smooth transmittion, quiet ride, great excelleration and have had no problems after 3500 miles. The BMW X5 I owned was a mess, in for repairs over 10 times in 3 years for major items. CX 9 is the best car I have ever owned. The Mazda CX 9 feels like a luxury class upgrade as compared to the BMW X5....read morehide

Its an awesome crossover. We love it!!! I reviewed quite a bit of SUV's before making the decision, such as Audi q7, x5, MDX, pilot, highlander, lexus but to be honest this SUV was simply awesome. In style and in all the perks it has for 10-15K less; HID lights, rearview camera, mp3, heated seats, voice NAV, bluetooth, adv keyless with memory seating, most spacious 3rd row seating, iPOD conn., Bose 10 speaker system, tire press monitor, rain sensing wipers, 20in wheels etc.. The best feature is its engine and transmission. I don't feel any upshifting of gears, it is flawless and very smooth, the best I have driven, not to mention 263hp V6 with dual exhaust. Don't look any further if you want luxury for a good price(36K) this is IT!...read morehide

This vehicle is just plain amazing! The refinement, fit and finish and quality of the CX-9 is incredible. Where do I start? Lets start with the looks. This is a a very sporty looking family hauler that gives the wife all the space she needs for performing all of the family duties but us dads like it because it has beautiful sporting lines and shape, as well as excellent acceleration and spirited, stable handling!
The interior is very roomy, comfortable and also very user friendly. I have the optional Bose sound system with the power moonroof and power drivers seat. The Bose stereo system has to be heard to be believed! It is awesome! This vehicle delivers everything that you could ever need in a cuv! Be prepared to attract lots of stares and looks from other drivers as well! People really notice the CX-9!...read morehide

I love this car! I looked for months for a SUV. I couldn't decide. I was leaning toward a Yukon but then I started seeing info on the CX-9. It appealed to me more because it gave me the space I needed(3 rows) without being so cumbersome. I love the way it feels;not like a typical 7 passenger SUV. The price for what I wanted and could afford was also a deciding factor for me....read morehide
