Over-all car is fantastic. Have had a lot of fun with it. This is my Sunday car so I only drive it on weekends. Lots of get up and go. Mars Red gets lots of comments All positive. Moon roof is a delight. Mercedes has a winner here.

Only had it a few weeks now, but so far........Traded in BMW 530 for CLK and like the smaller sportier feel. A personal sports coupe that makes you smile everytime you sit in it. Handles very well in corners and on open road. Impressive interior that pretty much does everything for you including lights, seat belts and start without a key. The AMG 5 spoke gunmetal finished wheels for summer are a must to give it that "more aggressive " edge...read morehide

This car is all about the engine--all 475 hp. It has a great sound, and accelerates faster than any other 4-seater out there. The exterior looks great, but the interior is a bit lackluster--compare it to the new BMW 3 series, which is much less expensive, and it looks even worse, as the Bimmer has a wonderfully laid out interior.
The CLK AMG drives a bit on the heavy side--It is not light and nimble. You have to manhandle it--if you do it will respond.
The stereo is quite good. The NAV is very outdated. It is slow and cumbersome. No bluetooth on a car in this price range is ridiculous. Also, some of the options should be standard. For example, HID lights are an extra on this car.
The seats are very comfortable. The back seats are actually usable (unlike its main competitors, the Jaguar XK and XKR). The ride is comfortable, but, in my opinion, could be firmed up a bit without losing any comfort. Another thing that would help a lot is if the steering was more responsive--it is a bit numb.
Overall, I really like the car. I'm concerned about how expensive routine maintenance will be, especially considering that I could have had a new 3 series convertible for just over half the price, with better handling and a much more exquisite interior, with bluetooth and a more sophisticated NAV. BUT, and this is a bit BUT, the 3 series convertible has virtually no trunk with the top down, PLUS, it comes only with run-flats, which introduce a host of issues....read morehide

I was given absolutely NO warning the CLK 350 would slide abruptly back at the top of a hill when the light turns from red to green. It has NO hill start assist that freezes the brake pedal while the right foot moves to the accelerator.
I almost had a bad accident. None of my other SLKs did this, nor has any other make car I have owned ever done this. I find it very outdated, though it is due to the 7-speed transmission....read morehide

Own a 2005 CLK500 -- I keep this baby in the sports mode, and it drives like a rocket. Whether you are starting from 0MPH or passing others on the highway, all you need to do is give it a little gas and then comes the immediate massive kick.
Even with the 300+ horses it pumps out, the ride is very comfortable and quiet.
Just wishing it was available with manual tranny....read morehide

This Car is a Screamer!! If you like to drive buy this car. The horsepower and transmission alone are worth it! When I drive it I feel like a 20 year kid again. Even raced a Mustang Cobra with it, and it wasn't even close. Right now I use it to scare people in the passenger seat b/c the car looks unassuming. My only complaint was I bought K&N air filters to boost up the HP and its a B!@tch to get to the filters, need a special tool....read morehide

2002 CLK430 Cabriolet. This car is bulletproof. Used for spring/summer driving only, but is still refreshing everytime I bring it out in the spring. Very strong engine/transmission. This model is one of the last generation true Benzes with less electronics/computer intervention than current models. I love the car, it is gorgeous and still attractive....read morehide

Great all around car. Sporty, elegant, and fun to drive. Could have more aggressive lines. Love the 7 speed transmission. Great overall value.
I'd consider keeping this car once the lease was up.
