I bought it only a few days ago, after looking at Range Rover Sport, Cayenne S, Touareg V8, FX 45. I went into the dealership to test the ML550 and drove off the lot in this one. After 3 BMW's (X5, 5 and 7 series), I know this car is for me. Styling, design, power and very importantly an awesome fuel economy for a car of this caliber. I have the Sports package with AMG trim. This is a very cool car!...read morehide

The exaust sound is perfect, just what you would expect from a hand built high performance engine. A beautiful example of
German engineering.

I leased a 2004 E500 4Matic with a high mileage lease. While I really like the car itself, I have had many service problems. The telephone system did not work adequately for several months and there were numerous electrical problems that required bringing the car in for servicing. After the warranty ended the car started to drive awkwardly. I brought it in for servicing to be told that a strut needed to be replaced, along with other issues bringing the service bill above $3,000. A call to the Mercedes 800 customer service number yielded "there's nothing we can do because you're over the warranty." An internet search showed other Mercedes E500 owners having similar problems. If you buy the car you may get stuck with costly repairs. If you decide to get this car, only consider leasing with low miles so you can give it back before the warranty ends....read morehide

This is one of the fastest Benz I have driven.. the front could be a little sportier, but the power makes up for it. It is really smooth and perfect for those who want a luxury vehicle without sacrificing space.

I traded my '03 Jag XJ8 for an '07 MB E-350 4Matic last week. The Benz doesn't have the same ambience as the Jag but it handles much better and is much more modern inside and out. The 4-Matic makes a huge difference when driving in any slick condition from sandy pavement to snowy mountain roads. The extra ~$3K for the 4-Matic option is well worth it. I really like the optional bluetooth module for the integrated phone system. The dealer charges $350 for the module but if you make calls in the car on a regular basis it is well worth it. The dealer will tell you that only the "approved" list of Motorola handsets will work with the bluetooth module but that is not true. I was making calls on my Sprint Treo 700P with less than 5 minutes setup with the the Bluetooth MHI module.
All in all, I chose the E350 4-Matic over a new Jag XJ8 and the BMW 530 because for me it blends the best of both worlds. TheE350 4Matic blends the luxurious ambience of a Jag while also providing the performance expected from a BMW....read morehide

I've owned almost every other luxury vehicle BMW (5 and 7 series), Porsche Cayenne S, Mercedes S500, and a few Audi's.
I didn't want to spend a fortune, but I wanted a decent sedan. If money were no object...I would buy an Audi 8L. It is an outstanding ride. But in this price range, I think the E350 is a better value than the BMW 5.
Acceleration is smooth in "Sport" mode, braking is clean, and the ride is effortlessly comfortable. The "Sports Package" currently being offered by dealers at no charge gives the car a more upscale look with more chrome and better moulding. Mercedes has made improvements to their navigation system since I last owned one...the system is much easier to use now.
I only wish things like xenon headlamps and leather seating were standard...they should be at this price point....read morehide

I just bought the E350 4matic a few days ago, and so far it worth every penny. I looked at the BMW 530i, Audi A6, and the Lexus GS400h from these 4 cars. The E-class was the best. Because of the milege, and the smoothness of driving it the E is like your drinking filtered water. If you have the money to afford the E class, defentily go for it!...read morehide

Amazing car, I bought it a week ago. I love the car. the smoothness of the ride is as pure as the filtered water. very spacious, and very secure. The SOS system is a very nice feature. If you would like to compare the E350 4matic to Bmw 530*i.
