Purchased As Used
Bought used with 10K. I've had one year with minimum issues. Issues I did have were dealt with no hassles from Mini Service at no charge to me (Car comes with 3 yr complete maintenance/warranty, and I mean complete)
As you drive the car for awhile you start noticing the real value and incredible BMW engineering that goes into the car that just blows away anything in it's class.
If you have a family this car may not be for you. Front seats have ample legroom (I'm 6'0") and I need to pull seat up. You can fit one petite adult or a child in the backseat. I'm 40 something and for my wife and my dog this is a great car.
My cons list the factory speakers. Most all stink and I would probably replace any OEM coming with any car anyway. The Run Flats do wear quickly. Most owners go to non runflats and keep the exisitng TPMS monitoring system and keep the tire pressure at spec. Onboard computer will notify when below 25psi. (I read 85% of blowouts are from low tire pressure) That and a can of tire sealant and a active membership with AAA and your covered.
In the S you have a performance car. Performance tires wear fast. If you want you can get some 16" rims and run more traditional tires. You'll lose some of the performance but it may give you less tire changes.
All in all I love the car and would not want to drive anything else

It takes corners very well, feeling flat to the ground. The sunroof which spans the front and back seat is a must have to let in tons of natural light -- but beware it doesn't come with a cover to shut out the light. I love listening to music while I drive, so the speed-sensitive volume control is a blessing. As long as the people sitting in front don't have too long legs, the people in back should be fine.
Get this car if you're a driving enthusiast and don't care too much about passengers, driving comfort, or trunk space -- all these aspects are tolerable but don't expect the best. For the performance of this car, I'm thrilled to get about 32 mpg with city/freeway driving....read morehide

I love my Mini Cooper! It is so much fun to drive! It is so much fun to just walk into my garage and look at it!
This car has more space then it would seem, and I always have my briefcase and golf clubs in there.
Love it, love it, just love it!

This is a great sized car even for families. It looks very small, but in reality, it's a decent sized vehicle. I've had mine for about 8 years and it's still running great and I am overly pleased.

I commute 70 miles a day to work ...I appreciate the mini's performance on the highway, comfort, quality and that it gets almost 400 miles per tank of gas. Traded a Hummer H3 for a Cooper S and haven't looked back.
Best money I've spent on a vehicle.

I love my red mini cooper convertible and can't stop smiling when I am in it or even just around it. I park it in front of the dining room window so I can see it when I eat my dinner. Besides being safe, reliable and fuel efficient it is fun to drive. I get a lot of looks in this cutie car, especially when my 6'8" husband gets out of the passenger side!...read morehide

I'm a car nut but my wife who is not fell in love with Minis from day one. . It's our road trip car. We travel light and set out for trips a week at a time. Whether we cruise the expressways at 80? or snake the back roads, we never fail to have a blast and yet we never fail to get mid 30's for mileage. 25000 miles without a hitch. Sure the ride is a little stiff and the back seat is useless but the Mini is rated as a sports car and not some kind of mini compact. If that's what someone wants then they best stick with a Civic or god forbid, a Kia. The MINI is a fun car for those who are serious about fun!...read morehide

Ok, I should tell you right off that I bought my 2005 S Convertible as a used car with 20k miles on it; it still had 2+ years of the extended warranty, so I'm still treated like a king when I bring to the BMW place for service---very impressive operation here in Boston. I use the car only from April to October, hoping to make it last a long time by sparing it from all the nastiness of our local weather conditionws. I have marveled at many comments on this site concerning the fuel economy, but despite a tuned up vehicle, I am not getting the mileage that some of you are claiming to get; I average abut 26 mpg, which is decent, not great. I use medium grade gas, and split the miles evenly between hwy and city. I would think that I should hit 30 mpg, at least sometimes, but never do. And I use the car's zippiness sparingly, so it's not like I am flooring it every chance i get. Over all it's a great car, tightly assembled, and looks great when I am tooling around town. It's been a long time since I turned heads in this conservative town, but the Cooper S Convertible is such a honey that folks can't take their eyes off of it!!...read morehide

I bought a 2005 Mini Cooper in the beautiful city of San Francisco and have been in love with it ever since.
I have since moved to Virginia where I'm in the process of trading in my 2005 Mini Cooper for a 2008 Mini Cooper which should arriving sometime towards the end of March.
My overall experience has been spectacular with my Mini Cooper and truthfully their is rarely a day someone has not commented about how sharp my Mini Cooper looks.
Other drivers of other Mini's wave as they drive by as do I which to me displays the love and affection one has for a Mini Cooper.
My dream is to eventually own a Mini Cooper S Convertable when my finances allow me. Keep up the good work at Mini and thank-you for creating such a great car that I feel safe in, has great gas mileage and in many ways makes me feel I'm contributing towards in helping save the environment with fuel emmisions.
Great things comes in small packages and can hardly wait at the end of March to pick -up my new 2008 Mini Cooper in Richmond Virginia the staff all around at Mini has been wonderful.
By the way your Mini Gift web site is fantastic I'll be for sure asking for my birthday come April for a few of those items....read morehide

The Mini Cooper is the most fun car I have owned or driven. My next one will be a Cooper S.
