I bought my 2007 3.5SE new and have had the car to the dealership approx 30 times for bad seat tracks, a new headliner due to a water leak, a failed master brake cylinder, window popping (new window motor installed), horrible rattles with interior pieces (with many pieces replaced), popped speaker, sub-par trim pieces that break, driver's side interior door handle fell off, brake pedal squeaks/pops (clip replaced 3 times), and now it has to go back to the dealer because at 33k miles the car is experiencing hard starts every day...hopefully the hard start is something simple. I previously made a claim with Nissan to buy this car back after the faulty master brake cylinder was replaced and they denied my claim and said that all the repairs appear normal to them and did not qualify for a buy-back. Also the tires on the SE are only rated for 25k miles so be prepared to replace tires in 2 years!! The great thing for me is that I have had great service advisors and managers at the dealerships near my home so I have been taken care of as to loaner vehicles...I had to find something positive to end this review with!!...read morehide

We had nothing but trouble with this brand new car the day we drove it away. The passenger air bag would not function properly sometimes. Took several months to figure out it was the bottom seat cushion had a bad weight sensor after 8000 miles. Major safety issue. The car got all scratched up by the service dept taking the seat in and out at the dealer. Then the left rear brake started locking up when braking. Got it back along with a new master cylinder and the new seat cushion on a Friday at 10000 miles. the next day, Saturday, the left brake was locking up again and sounded like the left rear wheel was about to fall off. We were going to take it back to Dealer to get repaired on Monday. But wait..that Saturday night a cold front blew in along with a thunderstorm... The front windows have autoup windows and sensors that can get triggered by bumps in the road and may go down while driving (there is a small note of this in owner's manual). Well the thunder triggered the front windows and rolled down the front two windows 4 inches and it rained all night and half the next day. when we went to leave the house that afternoon I spent the next hour sopping up a 1/2 inch of water out of the front floors. In 30 degree weather I might add. The dash, console and front seats were completely soaked... Way to go Nissan for designing that feature!!! Needless to say wee took the car back on Monday and demanded a different car. We got a 2008 Nissan Rogue and love it......read morehide

my nissan altima-S model 2005, i bought it used last yr. it runs smoothly, but the problem is it eats a lot of gas, it is only 4cyl, but it seems it has 8 cyl.not fuel economy.

I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEE this car. I researched for 6 months and I am very pleased that I decided on this one. Ride is smooth, it looks great and the gas mileage is unbelievable for a cas this size. This is my very first Nissan but definitely not the last!!!

Fun to Drive, Lots of Features, Looks Great

This is the first Nissan I have owned and I really love it. Nissan spent a lot of time making sure everything on this car was well engineered. It is also a well built car. Unlike many U.S. made cars all the controls and console features are durable and arranged in a smart easy to use manner. I will definitely buy more Nissan made cars/SUVs in the future....read morehide

The WORST car ever!!!!!! i have had my car for 9 months it has been in the shop 7 times for this engine knocking. they have put 5 heatshields on my car..it is not the heat shields it is the valve timing control my car is still under warranty and nissan cant seem to fix it! filed a complaint with B.B.B. I thought Nissans were supposed to be very good cars. My brother had a Sentra no problem. Well, I am very disappointed with my Altima. My biggest complaint is that my engine makes a loud rattling noise. It doesn't sound like a new car. I received a letter from Nissan stating that the engine rattling is due to the heat manifold. Apparently Nissan is identifying owners who need replacements. I took my car for service and was told the rattling noise was fixed and now it is worse than ever. On top of that, my brakes are now making a high-pitch squeaky tone when braking. I only have 8000 miles on my car and I am so disappointed. My car has been into Service 2 times and the air pressure light is still on....read morehide

MPG is not that great

Had this car since November 2007; mileage has always been on the low side (16/19)... other than that, this car doesn't disappoint. sleek design, very eye-catching, great acceleration and braking, and beautiful interior (if you don't look underneath the floor covers...).

FRONT BREAKS-Very Loud, problematic

I have been a nissan owner for many years. Have had 2 altimas now, and others. the 2006 2.5SE and now the 2007 2.5SL.
Very impressed with the changes in style for 2007.
Only problems have been the Front breaks. They are abnormaly loud (squeeling) can be heard in the car with windows closed and radio on. Sound is worse in summer (warmer months).
Other then the breaks i would have to say the best nissan i have owned. Nissan is aware of the issue with the breaks, and have replaced the rotors and pads twice in the last year. The problem is solved for a few weeks and the noise comes back, Nissan Engineers(Japan, and Canada) are working towards a remedy for the problem. However it is now Feb 08 and i have had the 07 altima for over a year now and been living with the problem.
In my opinion the noise is unacceptable and am returning the 07 Altima in exchange for the 08 Rogue....read morehide
