Nissan to me has always been one of those "fast" car makers. The older Maxima is no exception, especially the SE version of THE sport sedan. But now, Nissan takes a big step. Well, two actually. One, they're trying to step the Maxima up to bigger, more luxurious sedans. Second, whatever happened to good ol' manual transmission? That would definitely increase the sporty fun that the Maxima stores in it's award winning VQ series engine.
You know what people say: "Looks aren't everything personality is everything." Well, maybe not everything. Like all men, people want a "hot" car. This doesn't exactly fit my definition of that. The car looks weird at some angles, and it's gained a lot more weight since the fourth generation. Personally, I prefer the fifth generation looks the best of them all.
Comfort in this car is great. That's all I can say.
Now, don't get me started on the performance. If it has the Nissan badge on it, you know your going to have a high performance car. The Maxima goes 0-60 in a time of 6.2 seconds. Also, the VQ has won Ward's 10 Best Engine Award every year since it's intro in 1995.
Overall this car is excellent if you like a luxurious, but still sporty car. But, I would recommend the 2003 Maxima for the up most performance and looks. I hope this review helped, and I wrote this because I hope to get noticed by someone for my writing skills, if I have any. My dream job is working for a car magazine, writing reviews for cars. And, I'm 15, and I have been in this car before, and from my point of view, its great. It's also a great tuner if you will. Thanks....read morehide

I traded an 2006 Jepp Liberty in on my Maxima and I am so glad I did. I love love love this car. Very roomy, easy to get kids in and out of backseat. Comfortable front seats. Sporty look. Love the 18' rims. Don't really get the skylights though. Will defiantley buy another.

Loaded SE.
Liek I said the only problem I have witht he car is the snow builds up on the inner rim so the steering wheel shakes untill I pull over and chip it all out.
I've had it in 2 times for a wind noise on the sun roof but they can't seem to find a fix?

I love my car, but after reading some of the cons it has me wondering did I make the right decision.
I really love the intelligent key when I can I keep the keys either in my purse or pocket, never have to take them out unless know ones home to open the door for me. When I first got my 2008 Maxima it only had about 450 miles on it, gets good gas mileage only when I used Shell or Exxon gasoline. Cheap gas is not going to work, it will run out like water.
I know that my husband really likes it, because he washes it like crazy even talks about slapping chrom rims on it. My last vehicle was an Envoy, he didn't even thinking about washing IT or slapping any chrome rims on it. I just hope to continue to enjoy my maxima....read morehide

I've had my 2007 Maxima for about a month now. It's only got about 600 miles on it, but so far I've fueled up twice and I am not getting close to the EPA ratings on the fuel economy. Maybe after a few hundered more miles.
But, over all I am very happy with this car. Its got all the power I need and while I havent had the chance to take it up to see how fast it can go, I have no doubts that it will do just fine.
I'm a big guy and I have no problems getting in and out of this car...its got all the leg room and head room I could want.
Overall I love this car....read morehide
