Purchased As Used
I have driven American made cars all of my life and I have been disappointed with them for the same amount of time. I started to gain trust for them just for a brief moment when I purchased an 03 Alero. Electrical problems, suspension issues as soon as the car reached 55000 miles it became a rolling or sometimes not pile of junk. Quality always before quantity, over payed workers lead to a low quality car. The japanese know the formula, it is no longer going to be easy for you, the US auto worker. Shut the unions down and go back to the basics....read morehide

Poorly made vehicle, noisy and rough ride, poor mpg.
over priced. I won't buy another toyota. The dealer,
luther toyota, was rude to me for bringing in for repairs (brand new vehicle)
and they don't offer loaner cars. They don't even give your car a wash like prior dealerships i've bought from.
I think i will try honda next, never again toyota!!!!!!!!!!!...read morehide

What else can I say. The dealership repaired the car after 3 weeks in the shop. I now hear that Camry's are having trouble. Is Toyota getting too big too fast?

totally satisfied, very stable, good handling, and comfortable ride, more comfortable than our Expidition, good leather in interior, easy to handle in heavy traffic - great car, good value

I just Love Toyota. I have owned 5 over the past 15years. My husband has owned two. Two of of the ones I have owned have been Highlanders. I can't complain about either one.

I bought a 2005 Honda Pilot--At 32,000Miles had a timing belt replaced. At 35,000 Miles had wheel bearings replaced. Sold the Pilot with 43,000 to get the Highlander. I could not wait to get rid of the Pilot.

I almost got hit making a left turn, floored it. In any other car, including my Ford Explorer V6, the transmission would've downshifted quickly and you would've had enough room to turn safely. In the Highlander, however, after starting the turn, I realized that I had to really scoot and get through. It was probably in third gear. For whatever reason, this car hates first gear, and at all times refuses to use it, even under hard acceleration. So, as I floored it, it hesitated at least half a second, presumably hovering over second gear. Then, after AT LEAST 3/4 of a second, it grabbed first gear and lurched forward, and shifted down @ around 5,000 rpm. I'm not sure why, but the car will not use first gear. this is a safety issue if you need to get out of someone's way fast. By the way I'm obviously not being biased, as this is our second Toyota. Our first was a 1994 Camry LE that was an impeccable car that never had any problems. Toyota quality has slipped greatly....read morehide

has just been ok. bought it for safety and reliability, so time will tell. i feel like the transmission wants you to drive more aggressively, so it's skittish in neighborhood block-by-block stop and go.

Can't ask for more on this solid built suv, if you are looking for a long term relationship with a vehicle that will give you no headaches and break your bank for repairs this is the one, I ve owned mine for a little over a year and so far have spent $126, for oil and filter changes so far not a penny extra on service. the only thing I dislike is the looks, poorly designed car, if you are over 50 this won't bother you but I am in my early 30's and it bothers me that toyota lacks in their cars design they are all square or box styles, they should hire some one from Mazda or Infinity to desing their cars. the camry was a square figure, so was the corolla, the 4 runner is a box on wheels and Highalander is not far off, but other than that the car is great!...read morehide

30,000 miles, nothing but standard maintence. Zero problems. The car handles well, rides well, and meets all expectations of a reliable vehicle.
