Write a ReviewI test drove Tundra recently and i can't wait to own one. It seems like it is a great truck and i thought by reading all these reviews it would help me make my decision, The only thing i realized is people spend 40K and rate this truck with only one star. I just wonder what kind of research they did before they bought it. I still believe that 80% of these guys should have stick to their Ford/GMC/Chevy....read morehide

I've owned new GM vehicles for more than 35 years and all of them had initial problems. I wanted a change so I bought the Tundra. So far there have been no such problems. No rattles, or squeaks or premature part failure.I believe that this vehicle was inspected better before it reached my garage. My Tundra is a sporty TRD short bed with the 5.7 V-8 and I never thought I would say this, but it has too much power. All vehicles look nice when they're new,but I think one reason why domestic manufacturers have lost ground is quality control standards....read morehide

a parking lot "touch" didnt scratch the paint on a chevy malibu cost 1200+, a rear back into a tree didnt break the bark with 1600 in repair. after the second hit I kicked the other side of the rear bumper and dented it. This is not built with truck bumpers or sheet metal, but tows my 27 foot Searay so well you dont know its there without looking in the mirror!...read morehide

six speed auto. with two overdrives gives this racehorse good MPG to go w/ all of its power. I love this gorgeous machine. I have to keep a towel with me to wipe off everyone's drool. The lights are way bright.

I bought my new Tundra last August. I thought it was just great. I have horses and it tows my horse trailer around like nothing.
Then the snow came and all my troubles began. Does anyone have any ideas on how to deal with the rear window which is slanted and therefore constantly picks up snow? The design for where the windshield wipers sit is terrible, because that area also accumulates snow. The back end of the truck is constantly sliding around (in 4WD or not) and this is the 5th 1/2 ton truck I've owned. Also, the heating system is grossly inadequate.
So for people who live in warm climates, I would highly recommend this truck. However, for those in snowy areas, I'd recommend a Nissan Titan....read morehide

I was shopping for a F150 super crew. Then, when I got completely hosed by a dealer, I decided to give Toyota a chance. They were too expensive so I went back to Ford (a different dealer). I pretty much made up my mind F150 was the truck for me. Before I went to put money down so they could order my truck. I decided to stop by a mechanic friend of mines shop just to get one more opinion. This guy is a brilliant when it comes to cars. He works on everything from yugo's to ferrari's and has always been a big fan of chevy and ford trucks. I asked him what he thought he immediately and emphatically said buy the Toyota. He said he knew they were more expensive but they were worth it. I was shocked I never thought he would say that. I Purchased it that day. as far as power I dont know what engine these other guys got but mine has plenty to spare. It does ride rough but I bought a truck not a cadillac. As far as gas millaege I get about 14 mpg. If your looking for gas millaege I suggest you buy a civic not a half ton four door pick up....read morehide

After owning this truck for 7500 miles I don't see how the big three will continue to sell products in the full size p/u market. Anybody with the insight to buy a Toyota rather than F/C or D will quickly come to the same conclusion. The midset of the American public to "Buy American" needs to realize built in America falls under that umbrella. The American auto makers continue to throw workers into the street while the foreign automakers continue to build new plants across the SE US. Perhaps someday American history will show the foreign automakers revived the auto mfg. industry in America. I bought my Tundra with the mindset of I did not care what it looked like, how it rode, what gas mileage it got etc. It was the the poor quality of my F150 is what drove me to buy Toyota. God I love this truck....read morehide

I upgraded from my 2004 dbl cab Tundra and my wife and I never looked back! This TRUCK looks great and runs great! The Limited package has great features that make it a worthwhile upgrade. I added the backup cam and I put the ball under the hitch every time without need to adjust or any help. This truck growls with the TRD exhaust I added and the VSC skid control makes this truck handle so much better in the snow and ice than my 2004. I use 4x4 far less in the winter now. It's made in America with superior engineering and out does anything in its class and crash tests very well. Don't waste your time with the 4.8 as the gas mileage is so close but the power is starkly more with the 5.7. I loved my sweet 2004 but I dumped her for my supermodel 2007 Tundra 5.7!!!...read morehide

I have had mine for 8 months. No problems. . .period! The only thing I have had done is oil changes. Gas mileage has been consistently 14-15city; 18-20 highway; 10.5-11.5 towing a 5500lb travel trailer. The engine and transmission have been quiet and smooth with more power than I really need; but nice to have. I bought mine when Toyota rebates were $1000. I would have been much more satisfied with the $3000 rebates they were later giving. However, because of the quality of the truck and the many years I plan to keep it, I am satisfied....read morehide
