I bought my Wolfsburg New in March 07 from Garnett VW in the Chadsford, PA area. The service dept is AWESOME there! Always friendly, they send coupons for services, Fast and Knowledgeable! I have 75,000+ miles on my car - That is NOT a typo! 75,000 miles in 2 years!- I get 33 plus miles to the gallon at 70-80 mph on the highway. I couldn't be happier with this vehicle! For $19k price tag this car is fantastic! I've had the fuel gauge sensor fixed-it was done quick and painless under warrenty, the CD/radio was replaced-agin no problems with service, tire pressure sensor was fixed, and a headlight went out ALL while under warrenty and was fixed in an hour at the dealer in PA. This is a GREAT car....read morehide

Purchased As Used
Purchased March 2008 with 22400mi. Driven 10K miles in 14mos. I drive alone 90% of the time. Nearly ideal for a single driver in size, handling and power. Attractive design with graceful lines. The 6-spd auto provides a silky smooth ride with very good power and responsiveness in D, which I prefer to the higher RPM S setting. Excellent fuel econ on the highway, a good deal less so in local driving. One or even two passengers fit comfortably; beyond that go for a Passat. Visibility out the rear could be better. That seems to be the case with many cars lately. No problems at all with reliability. Instrument cluster easy on the eyes (love those deep blue numbers with red pointers at night!). Sound and climate controls also very easy to use. I wouldn't mind another 30hp or so considering its weight, which is why I give it only 4 stars. Otherwise, recommended without reservation....read morehide

I would recommend it for anyone who wants to have a nice, stylish drive for a great price. I checked out ALL cars before buying and i fell in love with JETTA! It has everything - spoiler, moonroof, leather seats, awesome sound system, lots of storage space in comparison to mazdas (i had that before) and great cup holders - those cups actually stay inthere instead of turning over when you turn! So don't waste time, pride and money on some toyotas or hondas - they are not worse that money...read morehide

Decent car for a first time driver, but not something I'd keep. You'd be better off with a mazda3. If you want a reliable, good gas mileage car for a teenager, or adult. Get a jetta sedan, its better than nothing.

Overall this car is great... I can't say enough about the pros.
The car is very clean looking, sporty and fairly quick for 5 cylinders.
The options that were included in the Wolfsburg Edition is what sold me on this car. The sunroof, MP3 jack, leatherette seating, sound system. I also got the rear spoiler and 16 inch tires. I drive about 60/40 highway/city and have been averaging about 26-27 mpg. Not bad. I never have any complaints about the engine power and I traded in a Grand Prix GTP for the Jetta. I have 2 boys and the car is roomy enough for them in the back with the center seat console between them. Plenty of AC power outlets (3) and the blue/red dashboard lights are very nice.
The cons are quite trivial when comparing tho the pros. The can can be a little noisy depending on the type of pavement you are on. You cannot crack the windows when it's raining as water comes in the crack. Recommend that VW adds rain gutters as a standard option. It could use a few more storage compartments. My family and friends all compliment the looks and performance....read morehide

This is a very fun car to drive. Be careful stepping to hard on the excelerator...this car car peal rubber. What's amazing is the gas mileage is awesome. A coworker of mine just bought a Toyota Matrix and only gets 23/29 MPG and moves like a snail. We have two little boys 3 yrs and 6yrs and the back seat room is perfect for two car seats with plenty of leg room. I highly recommend this car. It's a sports sadan without the guilt. A true value....read morehide

Don't believe all the glowing reviews you read on this car with the 2.5 liter, five cylinder engine. 1) The best fuel economy I achieved in 90% highway driving was 23 mpg. in 50/50 mixed and conservative driving I have never reached 21 mpg, in 3900 miles of driving. 2) The engine is very weak and unwilling to rev, unless you put the auto transmission in sport mode, in which case it becomes very noisy and fuel economy goes further down. 3) Similarly, the auto transmission does not downshift quick enough on turns, heavy traffick and mountains forcing you to realy step on the gas pedal to force a lower gear, which again negatively affects the noise level and fuel economy. 3)The driver's seat is a back killer. The integral lumbar support is too low (almost at tailbone level) and no matter how you adjust it (not very easy to turn that dial) you can't find a comfortable position. 4) The car came out of the dealership with the steering wheel not centered. The VW sign on the wheel is tilted to one side. The dealer has yet to find solutions for either problem....read morehide

Bought my GLI this summer, and just passed 15k miles. Not having any problems yet with Jetty. The sport-tuned suspension is a first for me- the ride is a little bumpier but I don't often have to slow down to corner. In fact, on the Blue Ridge Parkway and WV turnipike I find I like to speed up around the turns. The acceleration at highway speeds is very fast, more than once after a well-banked turn I've looked down at the speedometer and realised that I have an unwanted 3rd digit of MPH to get rid of....read morehide

Traded an 02' Honda civic for this car when we found out that we were having a baby. Great sytle, safety, and price. Everyday it seems to have a new feature that I had not seen before. Overall, very pleased with Volkswagen service and support. Prev. cars.(Toyota Celica, Ford Explorer, 2)Mitsubishi 3000GT, Honda Civic, Dodge Dakota.)...read morehide
