I TRADE IN MY MERCEDES BENZ FOR A BEETLE! GREAT GAS MILEAGE, FUN DRIVE! BUT MY CAR SEAT IS TOO BIG FOR THE CAR. SO MY RECOMENDATION TOYOU IF YOU HAVE TO FIT A CAR SIT, TRY TO GET THE SMALLER LOOKING TYPE CAR SEAT.
THE OTHER DAY I WAS BABYSITTING AND YES TWO CAR SEATS FIT IN THE BACK!
LOVE IT!

Ok, Ok, So it's a 2003 GL (TDI). I've been told by body specialist that my New Beetle has the best paint (finish) they've ever seen. Mine looks great, handles great, gets great milage (50 mpg - diesel) and has NEVER been in the shop except for scheduled maintenance.

I traded my loaded 2004 Avalanche for this Triple White Convertible. I was a little concerned about the size difference - but the fun factor negates the size concerns. The fuel savings don't hurt either. The trunk is tiny (especially compared to my Avalanche) but again, the fun factor wins out. I wish more car "toys" and accessories were available. I would love to make it even more cute....read morehide

This is my 1st VW and I am loving it. I came out of an Escalade and thought the transition would be hard but it feels great. There is NO truck space in the convertible but I am able to fit more than I expected in the car once I let the top down. I get so many compliments from men, women and children alike, it's crazy. I actually sold one to a lady in the parking lot the other day. She was trying to decide what she wanted to buy. 2 minutes in the bug with the top down and she was sold. The Beetle Bug advertisement was right when they stressed the fun. When I get in it, I even feel fun. It was a great choice for me....read morehide

Just got sick and tired of my Toyota Corolla that I traded it off for the nicer performing Volkswagen Beetle. The performance is better than the smaller engine Corolla and was consuming the same fuel mileage as the Beetle with a bigger engine. The ride is also much better in the Beetle, that after the test drive, I traded the Corolla in. No regrets with my decision and the Beetle has such a nice and fun car to drive. Love it!...read morehide

I just bought my new bug three days ago and it's sooo cute!!! i love driving it! it's so smooth and so much fun to ride in! the ipod jack and satellite radio are great!! I got salsa red to match my house and my phone, and i love it! the only down side is that we couldn't get it to start once because of the steering wheel locks to prevent anyone from steeling the car, but it's easily fixed if you'll just jiggle the steering wheel and turn the key. I'd definately recommend it to anyone! I'm 5'2" and it's perfect for short people like myself!...read morehide

I don't ever want to drive anything but a beetle, i would love my next car to be a convertible beetle... i don't spend much gas (almost half of what i used to spend with my old car), i've had it for 5 months now and i haven't had a problem at all, it's so easy to drive, easy to park and easy to be looked at when you're driving it hehehe... it's just the best car ever!!...read morehide

It's SO good on gas. It seems to get happy when its oil change is the synthetic blend. It's quicker than it looks. VERY easy to park. It turns on a dime. There is really more room in it than you'd think too. We have a child seat in the back. The extra pivot on the front seat gives you plenty of room to get your child's seat belt fastened when the seat is moved forward to get to the back seat. I am a musician. I can fit a digital piano, an amp, and a guitar in it easily. Besides that, I look fabulous in it....read morehide

I have had my New Beetle for a few months now, have put on over 4000 miles, and have had no significant concerns. I did replace the wiper blades with a pair of Bosch blades, since the one that came with the car seemed to rub.
I have the 5-speed, and do enjoy the cars drive and handling. 150HP is plenty in car this size, and I have no complaints about acceleration (Go Bug, Go!). The ABS braking system and anti-skid functions seem to work well. I had several opportunities to drive it in the snow this year, and it seemed to handle that challenge quite well.
Though it presents some restrictions, I do appreciate the Bug's styling, as it sets it apart from other cars its size, all of which are looking more and more alike, IMHO. I also like the fact that I can call the car "Bug."...read morehide
