2.0T Special Edition Quattro shown

Write a ReviewI have a '07 2.0T Quattro. After driving it for almost years, here are my comments on the car.
First and foremost, I should have paid extra for the 6 cyl. The 2.0T is lacking when you ask for it. (Although my wife is happy with it...)
Do consider the Quattro, I've pulle out of spots where some Ford Explorers couldn't get out!
The interior is well appointed, the Navigation takes a while to get used to, once you do, it's still a pain to program using the dial.
The Toyota/Lexus (Touch sensitive screen) is much easier and user-friendly.
I found the following features helpfull:
- Electric folding exterior mirrors
- Heated front seats
- One touch electric folding convertible top
- Manu-shift transmission (BTW, this is the only way I would drive the car)
On the flip side, the following features I didn't like:
- No park-tronics or rear-camera (my wife already had 2 "bumper-benders" which cost me over $1,000 to repair) Only offered on the 6 cyl, not on the 4.
- Front and rear visibility. The nose is long, needed to get used to stopping a foot sooner than I was used to.
- Trunk storage is minimal with top down. There should be a separate cabin for the folded top like my '97 Chrysler Sebring.
- Tire pressure monitor - very accurate, but the system doesn't tell you which tire is low, you need to check all 4. (The VW system is much better, it tells you the specific tire that is low.)
For anyone considering this car... These are my final words of wisdom.. I love the car... would recommend it if you can overook the little annoyances....read morehide

I have always liked Audis and have owned 2 Audis in the past. I thought they were ahead of their time but we had some problems and never looked back. In 2004 we purchased a BMW 330i and it also proved to be a good car but unreliable. We traded in that purchased 2004 BMW 330i because it started giving us problems and it was getting expensive to own and maintain after the plan was over. It was an excellent drivers car but relaibility was a weak point.
My first choice after doing tons of research and reading all the praise from magazines and after test driving one was the 2008 Cadillac CTS. Amazing car and larger than our BMW 3 series. Price point was excellent. Value wise it was a 10 out of 10. The only problem was no dealerships had ANY CTS 3.6 DI that we wanted in the color combinations with the features we wanted for at least 3 months! My next choice was the Audi A4. Should I do it? Done. It's quite smaller but sufficient.
I got used to the size and the interior is the best I have seen. The only problem I have is with the MMI navigation. It has bugs and sometimes goes blank and loose memory. That is unacceptable.
After talking to other owners in the waiting room we found they also had many electrical problems.
The transmission is great and shifts quickly, when it is working. With only 7k miles it had to be replaced!
The engine is also great and powerful but the turbos were also replaced shortly after because it was burning too much oil and fouling up the spools. Only 11k and already two major problems. Makes me go hmmmmm. How long will this last?
Gas mileage is not acceptable for a 4 cylinder. I average about 16.1 mpg with a mix of highway and city. On the highway its 22.
I have to say the Quattro is great in snow and I put some big SUV's to shame. I saw a Nissan Pathfinder that could not get up a steep hill- yet I did it without much trouble in my A4. So yes, I like this car but reliability is unacceptable. Price wise its expensive. The interior is the best I have seen. The quality of the materials is very good. The paint does have some orange peel to the surface but otherwise fit and finish are very good. Next time I'll wait a little bit. I would not recommend this car and would never buy an Audi again. Good Luck..best...read morehide

While mine was a 1999 A4 Quattro I can only understand too well Pete's concerns with brakes!
The front brakes wore down rapidly including the rotors, that, inspite of my moderate driving style (to save fuel!).
After a very costly (!!) repair I complained to AUDI Corporate HQ, since the dealer was no help at all. He actually told me:...it is the way you brake!" I replied, that I must have the only Audi with 2 brake pedals, one for the front and one for the rear!
When I told them, that their brake modulator must have been defective, since the rear brakes and rotors were virtually like new after 23,000 miles, they just recited over and over again that it is my fault.
I have been driving for more than 50 years without ever having such a problem with other cars.
The result: I traded the Audi for a Mercedes!!!...read morehide

Brakes squeaked from the 11 month on my new A4. Audi will do nothing to correct this and tells me this is normal and that it performs according to their specifications. I read on posts this is a problem that Audi is aware of from the number of complaints but won't admit that this is an issue to the public. It has COMPLETELY ruined my leasing experience with Audi. Audi Corporate said that they side with the local dealer. They pretty much told me that the squeaking brakes were my problem. I guess pleasing the customer is NOT part of the Audi experience? No one at Audi seems to takes responsibility for the cars defective materials. Thanks Audi, for helping me choose a Mercedes at the end of this lease....read morehide

My tdi 2.0 bought sept.2007 is my second Audi A4, with first one A4 1,9 tdi 74kw I had no any problems at all so I decided to continue with Audi new model. This prove to be not very good decision since from begining I had few problems. First it was a mulfunction of brakes, oil was dripping and I heard skweeking, after two visits to Audi service they finaly replaced some parts and now it is O.K., second concern is that every 200km I have to put 0,5 ltrs oil in the engine. I went to service and report it. They did not discover anything telling me that this is a new car and oil over consumption is normal for few thousand kilometers. Now I have little more than 10000 km and it is still the same...I have to take extra oil if I want to make some bigger distance. I am very dissapointed with my new A4 and service which do not want to admit that this is factory mistake....read morehide

I love this car. It looks incredible. I have the S-Line trim with the Titanium package. Black on black on black. The thing looks sick. The only complaint about the car is it doesn't drive as sporty as my last Acura RSX. Thr A4 handles and brakes much better, however the sterring wheel is no where as tight and the 200 hp I-VTEC on the RSX is clearly faster than on the A4...read morehide

Very well made car. Mine has 15,000 miles and have had no major issues. The 2.0t engine is great, especially when the turbo is spooled up. The interior is well made and looks great, the outside looks nice as well. One minor issue is that the engine idles rough in the cold and vibrates low in the rpm range. However, this cold weather performance problem is compensated for by the quattro AWD which makes the car superb in the snow. The suspension can be a little bumpy but I prefer feeling more connected to the road to an overly soft ride. My biggest complaint is that the steering is totally numb. You have to move the wheel pretty far before you start to feel the front wheels turn. Despite this, it does turn corners exceptionally well, you just don't feel as though your responsible for this performance. Other than that, the car is flawless and is by far the best car in its class....read morehide

Great car. The fit and finish are excellent. The engine is small but plenty powerful, especially when the turbo is spinning. The AWD is amazing in the snow as well. On the highway it gets great gass mileage, around 30 MPG and it is comfortable even on long trips. Overall a very practical and well made car....read morehide

Just had this car about a month, have 2700 miles on it and just took my first road trip. Got about 29MPG overall. Car is 2.0T with 6 speed manual. Has the 17" wheels, leather, bluetooth, and ipod. My first audi; much larger than the '02 Jetta I had. This car has very good power and loves a nice sharp curve. I haven't sat in the back, but again when compared to the jetta, it looks like huge. I was extremely shocked to get a phone call from Audi thanking me and even more shocked to get follow up calls to a question I had.
Overall the car is fun to drive, economical and a very good value (costs less than a Lincoln). Would buy again; recommend the rubber floor mats which are a $105 option and beware that some A4s are "wired for Sirrus", the receiver is $500 extra....read morehide
