Purchased As New
My wife and I are now buying a new 2008 Audi TT 3.2 Quattro roadster today. But suffice it to say we know the TT well. I was interested in them when they first came out and I have read reviews and followed their production since. I talked my wife into buying one in 2002. We kept it till I got mad at the Audi manufacturer for blaming the dealership for delays in getting parts when it was the companies fault and they wouldn't own up. I finally realized that although I was annoyed with Audi for taking 9 weeks to get parts to my auto body shop for my 2008 A-3S after a minor fender bender, the TT roadster is a fantastic car. When she had a 2002 model up till a little over a year ago it was an excellent car. It drove and handled incredibly, and I have driven many sports cars including BMW Z-3, Porsche Boxster, Nissan 300ZX, Chevy Corvette, Ford Mustang GT, and Chrysler Crossfire. One thing that annoys me about all the other sports car makers is they go on about how great they are, but don't kid yourself they aren't great like the TT is in bad weather. I want to see how these others stack up in real road test with heavy rain, snow, sleet, and ice. Running them aroudn on dry tracks doesn't show a "Real Sports Cars" talents. That little TT will keep on going. The worst we ever got in the worst ice weather was a cracked front spoiler from plowing through packed high snow. So if you want to burn tires in straight lines on dry roads buy the others. If you want to zip around in all kinds of weather, buy a TT....read morehide

First Audi Iâve owned and extremely impressed with quality, cabin materials and solid, sound handling performance. I have the 6-speed manual shift which is a blast to drive but Iâm a little disappointed with the lack of oomph from 1st to 3rd gear from a starting stop. With a stick, also thought gas mileage would be better. Canât seem to beat 20.5 mpg during my daily commute.
The flat-bottomed steering wheel is great for leg room and style points. The rear cargo space is tremendous with the seats folded down. Fuhgedabout rear passengers! With the huge rear hatch window, would be very practical if Audi considered a rear wiper. All-in-all no major complaints. Iâd buy another in a heartbeat but only after seriously test-driving the 2.OL for comparison handling and gas mileage....read morehide

I traded up from a 1998 Audi A4 1.8T FWD but I have also driven the 2000 Audi TT roadster FWD I4 1.8T (180 bhp). My family has been in love with Audis for the past 10 years so it came as almost innate behavior that I picked up a lease on a 2008 3.2 V6 TT coupe. I love everything about this car. The brakes are squeaky sometimes (due to ceramic, I think). The mag-ride technology is fantastic (I only turn it off for speed bumps). Mine is brilliant red (non-metallic) with black leather interior. I would have liked to get tinted windows due to the S. Florida sun. This car may not be as expensive as the Bentleys, Ferraris, 911s and M6s on South Beach but it has a head-turning appeal that is understated yet appreciated! The Quattro is phenomenal (my first Quattro Audi) and I really push this car through turns. With the P-Zero tires, it really sticks to the pavement!
I would have liked the clutch to be stiffer like on the first generation TT. Shifting is crisp and precise and in defense of the light clutch, it makes double-clutch shifting very easy and light. Braking is strong (not "Porsche strong" but very secure). I am seriously considering refinancing and keeping it after the lease is up! Interior quality is impeccable with just the right amount of aluminum trim and the flat steering wheel looks great! I will not complain about the cup holders; if I wanted those, I would have gotten a gas-guzzling SUV or family sedan! Ergonomics have also been improved from the first gen. Everything is exactly where you would expect it!
I test drove the Porsche Cayman S and while it is faster, I liked the TT's handling and clean aesthetic lines better. I love Porsche machines and would buy or lease a Cayman S but I wouldn't rush to trade in my TT....read morehide

I have traded my old TT for the new TT 2.0 FSI. It is even better! The ride is firm but this I find is good as you "feel" both how it handles and grips. On the other hand one needs firm suspention in a sports car. Otherwise buy a Buick! (Or some other kind of boat)

Great car, just traded my 05 Mustang GT for it. The interior is well built, typical high end luxury Audi quality, no plastic like Lexus, Infiniti. Love the alcantra, too bad couldn't get the baseball optic leather on a regular coupe though. The entire car is solid, eye catching, economical, and at the same time very sporty. Very light car, less than 3,000 lbs. Handles windy roads like its the Caymans little brother. Made me forget my Mustang within five minutes of driving it. Took it through canyon roads in Malibu, handled perfectly. Paddle shifters make the ride fun. All around great car, worth the money....read morehide

This is my second TT - just got the 2008, used to have the 2004.
The gas mileage is amazing - as high as 25mpg in the city and higher on the highway.
But the best part is the sheer joy of driving. This car responds so quickly it's as if it's reading my mind. It's agile on turns, powerful on steep hills and it's got plenty of power for passing.
Also the size makes it easy to park....read morehide

Fun car to drive. Excellent in bad weather. No complaints about electronics, after 6 months everything on the car is working just fine. Not the car to drive if you don't want to stand out among other cars in the parking lot. Nice performance and gas mileage.
Note: Be sure to turn the windshield wipers rain sensor off before you run in through the car wash....read morehide

I wanted a TT for several years but struggled with the idea of being more practical in these days of ever rising gas prices. I saw my car on the showroom floor and couldn't walk away. I don't regret it for an instant! The gas mileage is great, better than my Jetta and a whole lot sexier. My husband loved it so much he bought a A-4 cabriolet the following week. I continue to be impressed every time I get in it....read morehide
