Smooth Ride, Fun to drive, Great on gas

by Arty from Santa Ana, Ca (8/09/08)
Pros:This Car is great on gas, it rides smooth, and it is perfect if you live in the city, parks anywhere
Cons:Although it has suprising pick up and tourque, it is a little slow when 4 people are in the car

My preference has always been for mid to full size cars, so when we first got the car I saw it and I thought it was way to small, and didnt like it for that reason. Since the very first day I drove it I have been receiveng compliments from everyone I know, especially when I tell them about the gas mileage(35hwy)(28cty). By the third day I come to Love this car. I can park it anywhere, is very roomy, it has good tourqe, the hatchback model you can fold the back seats all the way flat like in a station wagon. Its probably one of the only cars that you can still put five bucks of gas and the guage actually moves up almost qtr of tank(considering the outrageous price for gas)

Big Guy Surprize!

by TexasUSA from Mitchell County, Texas (8/09/08)
Pros:Good fuel economy 30mpg combined, good ride, roomy up front
Cons:hmmmm....small car...but then thats why I purchased it

I have had my 2008 Aveo hatch back for about two weeks now, and am very pleased. Its very roomy in the front but the back would be cramped for an average sized adult. I'm a big guy and find plenty of room behind the steering wheel and as a front passenger. It gets a solid 30mpg combined fuel economy (I never get above 60mph), I haven't been on any long highway trips yet, but I'm hopeful it will get around 36 to 40 mpg. Time will only tell. The steering is a little iffy with ever so slight a shimmy. Ride is smooth but speed bumps are murder (too use to my big truck), but I'm pleased with the ride. I haven't drove it more than 40 miles yet so I'm anxious to see how she preforms on longer trips. I wanted a economical car to take me to and from work and so far I'm pleased. I will probably purchase another in the future.

Wasn't thrilled at first, but now LOVING my Aveo

by Tania from Marinette, WI (7/23/08)
Pros:I only have to gas up about every 2 weeks and it only costs me a max of $40.00
Cons:Drink holder blocks a/c and you can accidentally turn it on if not careful

I have had my Aveo since 2004 and I LOVE IT! I do have to say I was not that thrilled when I first purchased it as it wasn't the vehicle that I wanted. However, after getting familiar with my vehicle, I grew to love it. Now, with the gas prices the way they are, I don't mind having to fill up....I only have to put gas in about every 2 weeks and let's just say that my total is greatly less than most of those around me. I do get a lot of questions about my car, especially in the last 2 years. I was the second person in my area to own one and lately, I have been seeing quite a few more of them. I haven't had any major problems with this car and everything that has come up has been covered by my warranty/extended warranty. I have to say that I am VERY happy, now, that I bought this vehicle.

Happy with Gas Mileage

by Lesa from Wisconsin (7/22/08)
Pros:Great on Fuel and Roomy front section and nice size trunk.
Cons:Terrible in snow and heavy rain. Missing middle middle for arm rest.

For me the best part is the room in front. I don't feel like I'm in the dashboard driving. And when riding in the back seat it is comfortable to. Gas has been great. Would I buy another one? No! I don't feel safe in this car when driving in snow. Has no traction. And in heavy rain you hydroplane and have to drive more cautious. Having no middle arm rest has been a real issue to. Very uncomfortable no place to put your arm when on the passenger side. Also backing and seeing is a issue the back end sits up and the head rests make it hard to see.

My Aveo

by Betty from Altus, Oklahoma (7/22/08)
Pros:over 30 MPG, small on the outside yet roomy on the inside, huge trunk
Cons:not good on gravel roads

I got an Aveo as my first car this year. I can honestly say, I love my Aveo. I wanted a car that was not too large and got great gas mileage while not being expensive. I got all three in one.

Small car with the heart of a big car

by Bill (6/25/08)
Pros:Averaged 35.5 mpg on highway. at one point I got 38.9 mpg.
Cons:Could use more power but performed better than expected in the mountains.

Overall value is highly rated. Car is solid and comfortable. Big car interior with small car mileage. I would definitely consider buying another.

Awesome Car

by Patrick Robinson from Mountain View, CA (6/18/08)
Pros:Great looks, Great space and height, rear seat comfort, price, fits and finish awesome
Cons:Its normal for people to say cheaper is not better. Thats what your friends will say, MPG is ok

I am 6 feet tall and I tried other cars like Honda civic, corolla, Yaris. But they are not at all roomy.
But reviewers just say that because its a brand name. Go try it and you will notice the difference.
Once you sit in civic car you wont get any thigh support , you feel like you are sleeping, there is no headroom also. But the Aveo is far better. You can get a good command on the road.

Its interior are awesome. I own a LS sedan with wood finish interior and they are far better than those cheap quality plastic interior of Honda and toyota. Performance is not bad at all. Great for city driving

Also its a good value for money. It may not give a better mileage as honda's but its like you save almost $6000 initially. spend that much on fuel instead and that would be definately cheaper.

The Return of the GLC (Good LIttle Car)

by Jerry Privin from McDonough, GA (5/06/08)
Pros:30+ mph, comfy, rides 4 adults ok, big trunk, mp3 plug, good dash
Cons:only one front arm rest for driver's right?! needs more stuff holders

mileage & power is ok for a small car 4 cyl w/auto transmission, probably could be better. a little slow w/4 adults and a/c on, but that's a small car problem.great for around town, a little cramped for longer drives. holds it own on the interstate. wish the sound system could get louder as small cars have big road noise. no problems handling, braking, steering. electric windows? I'd prefer a crank. And the front seat only has a right side armrest for the driver and not a left arm rest for the passenger? More stuff holders in front would be nice.

I Love my Aveo!

by Melissa from Missouri (4/03/08)
Pros:I get @32 miles per gallon. I also drive highway and in town.
Cons:No drink holders.

We just purchased a 2008 Aveo and I love it. I have never owned a car, I have always drove a 4 wheel drive truck and was really nervous about buying this car. My husband and I were first looking at the volkswagen beetle and I am so glad we went with the Aveo. I drive 18 miles one way to work and then another 15 to school. Our gas bill was cut in half. Again, I love my car. The only thing I don't like is the drink holder situation.

CUTE CAR BUT....

by B.C. from Eastern,Kentucky (4/03/08)
Pros:Nice looking car, lots of compliments on it
Cons:fuel economy is terrible, lots of other problems

In the garage more than out from day 1 brand new off the lot. It's always something, a senor, heating went out, air went out twice, entire exhaust system replaced twice already!, checked several times for gas usage and found no problems even though it only gets an average of 24 mpg. Daytime running lights don't always come on. Etc.
