This is an incredible car. It will smoke a '70 Challenger 426 in the quarter mile by nearly a full second, it stops from 60 in under 120 feet, and it handles like it's on rails.
The interior is surprisingly comfortable, even for long trips - and I'm comparing it to my Lincoln Town Car. The ride is rougher, of course - you don't get cornering this flat without stiff springs.
In 18,000 miles not a single problem. It's still tight and quiet, unlike the old Chrysler vehicles.
And the POWER !!!
I think the bozos who panned it actually drive econobox ricers with coffee can mufflers.
My only real complaint is the brake dust. The Brembos shed enough in a day to require cleaning the front wheels. My gas mileage has run from 14.5 to 22, but hey - it's a 425 horsepower engine....read morehide

I wish I never bought this car. Dodge makes an inferior product compared to other car companies. My car has been nothing but trouble since I bought it. Tranny leaks, engine leaks, coolant leaks. Not to mention the weird lifter noises Dodge couldn't fix, so they replaced the engine. This car looks good on the outside but is slapped together with duct tape and cardboard inside. The car is fast for a V6 but the gas mileage is poor compared to all those new green cars. I would strongly advise AGAINST EVER buying a Dodge or Chrysler product! Its not worth it!...read morehide

I have never liked cars but this one has won me over. the leg room is great, the car handdles like a dream, and the looks wow a+ all the way.The only things i dont like are take off power not their till u hit 20mph then hold on its fine, the anti-slip stops from doing a burn out,and the braking could be just a little better, but all in all its one good car. Dodge did a great job on this one i plan to keep this one around for a long time...read morehide

I am a female in my mid 50's. I have always had a muscle car of some sort all my adult life but I must say this is the first Mopar muscle car I've had and will be my last. I bought my Charger R/T in March of 2006 and everytime I get in it, I still feel like I did the day I drove it off the car lot. I get lots of looks, I should say, my car does. In November a year ago I had the 50 series Flow Master mufflers put on and got the sound I wanted. It's a very suttle deep smooth sound that also turns heads. I can't count on my hands how many times guys pull up beside me and rev their engine only to back off when they hear mine. Some have been brave and raced me only to be left behind. So far I have had my "Lizzy" up to 140mph. IT WAS GREAT!!
When I first got my car I was told that my car would shut down at 120mph. They guy that told me that also liked fast cars and it was upsetting. That's when I decided I was going to see if it was true. If it had been, I had every intention of returning the car and getting my old one back. I was not disappointed!!! When I hit 120mph the car felt like it shifted and raised slightly. It felt like an airplane starting to lift off the runway. It was the best adrenaline rush I've ever had. I would recommend a Dodge Charger R/T to anyone who likes the security of a well built and good performing car. When I'm in my car I feel safe, because I know I can get awary from a situation if I need to and I feel protected because I feel I'm surrounded by a well built car. My grandchildren love grandma's car too. Not only does it look good, I get great gas mileage. I am a traveling nurse and drove from southern Indiana to Baton Rouge, LA then up to Alexandria, LA. I filled up in Indiana the day before I left, again in Memphis, TN and in Baton Rouge. I didn't fill up again until 10 days after I arrived in Alexandria, LA. The car was never below a quarter of a tank when I filled it up each time. I can't say enough about the Charger R/T. I was torn between the XRT and the R/T but I did'nt need all the power that the XRT has, after all I'm just a grandma....read morehide

I recently purchased my Charger RT with the Road and Track package which is a Debadged Daytona edition (no decals) and I love it. The color is Torred (regular red on steroids...LOL). I get a compliment everyday! The ride is smooth!, the engine is loud with the added mopar exhaust and mopar cold air intake. Touch screen radio is a wonderful invention! The mds engine system make the charger cruise in 4cylinder and when you punch on the gas it goes to 8cylinder...saves much more gas than the srt8. This car has all the power, looks, and technology you can ask for.....bluetooth, navigation, heated seats, XM sirus radio, adjustable seats, pedals, and sterring wheel. EVERYTHING IS WONDERFUL. I had a dilemma comparing the Dodge Charger RT with the Pontiac G8 and the G8 was smaller, more quiet (which should have been louder), non touchscreen, and less aggressive.....the engine in the G8 is slightly bigger but after the mopar accessories added to the charger, the charger definitely was a better pick. Also the charger warranty was much better! If you need a large car with power.....BUY THE HEMI!!! Its well worth it!...read morehide

Everything is great minus the engine. For the size of the car, the SE model has an engine of a Hyundai. I am not sure if the other reviewers are driving the SE model or not? I am disappointed with the Hp output. Go with the SXT at the least.

For the size, the 3.5 liter V6 is just fine. I was 18 with a 1969 R/T with a 440 six pack, the hemi would have kept my foot to the floor.

I recently acquired a ford mustang v-6. Although the mustang is a ok car, it had many faults; Seemingly always having " squeaky breaks to random noises", and riding completely rough. This car is highly impractical and almost un-drivable in the winter. Now when picking a new more powerful car i had choices. Having the choice to go with a mustang gt or dodge charger r/t, i decided to do my homework. After taking both choices into consideration, "and taking a ride and measuring the power", the choice became obvious. The dodge charger kills the mustang by a long shot. A far superior ride and trim along with power completely outweighed the .1-.5 second 0-60 advantage the mustang had and changed my opinion. This car is superior for its price range, and a best buy in its, " and in the mustangs case" other classes....read morehide

This is the best car I have ever owned. It is a cross of a sports car and a family sedan. Great job Dodge for putting a real American car back on the road.
