I can't believe that I've had this car for almost 2 years because I still love it and I'm a pickup truck person. I picked a black 5 speed coupe with as many options as possible. I was very disappointed to discover when I got home and looked in the trunk and found a compressor instead of a spare tire. I've never bought a car that didn't have a spare. A spare tire is standard not an option. Come on Ford don't get cheap on us now. Making a spare an option is like making life boats an option on a cruise ship. I wish I could talk to the President of Ford and talk him into giving me a spare tire so I could say there are absolutly no cons for the Ford Focus. Make it so!...read morehide

I am amazed at the gas mileage I get with this car. If I set the cruise at 65, I get between 40-43 mpg and with my highway and city driving combined I'm at 30.8 mpg. The car has a solid ride and the inside is useful and cool looking.

2000-2007 focus repulsed me. went to look at a taurus and left with the 2008 focus. took 5 minutes of driving this car to realize that ford finally took european and japanese tips and applied them to this car.i have gotten 46 mpg frequently making trips south and average 36 mpg locally. this car is stylish and has ample power across the band to satisfy every one and i would recommend this car to anyone. it truely is a great american vehicle and puts many imports to shame. thanks ford for putting america back in the race....read morehide

Red 2 door SE5 spd. Have achieved gas mileage in the upper 40's once. mid to high 30's gas mileage is common. Decent looks. sacrifice some power for gas mileage. Have 3000 miles on this car. paid only $12,400. a lot of car for the money. Build quality is above average for cars in this class. The real time MPG monitor helps to watch your driving habits to assist in frugal driving.
Highly recommend this car to anyone....read morehide

This Focus has exceeded my expectations, and Ford's mpg estimates. I purchased it for the gas mileage. My intent was to use it for around-town driving and use my Mariner on long trips. The car is so much more comfortable than I expected that I am using it on trips. My last trip was 2500 miles, round trip, and I averaged 38 mpg! Around town I am getting 29 mpg!
I have 4500 miles on the car and have had no problems. Kudos to FOMOCO....read morehide

Bought mine in 2/08. Great gas mileage. Drove from CT to Denver, 3900 miles round trip 38.8 mpg overall, even with the AC on low. Feels very solid to drive

I just bought 08 focus coupe. Love this car!! I am not a "car person" just bought it for driving to work, but very glad I did. Mpg is alot better than expected. Quiet interior and handles good.

Trim and fit is nice inside and out...Nice Job...A inside trunk release would be nice so would having a spare tire instead of a mini compressor!

This is a great car for the money. I have the two door SE with automatic. Probably would have bought the cheaper version, but they had rebates on vehicles on the dealer lot, so I bought this one. Did not think I would buy a two door, but I liked the back because it makes it look bigger to me, and it had the right options and color on the dealer lot. And the larger door did not bother me too much. I don't use the rear seats, except to throw things on occasionally from inside.
SPARE TIRE IS AN OPTION, so if you want one you need to order it with the car, or order it from the Parts dept. in pieces, plus the tire, and have Service, or another, mount the tire on the rim. Look at another car that came from the factory with one, to put it in the trunk properly. Factory throws label in the trunk, but directions for use are the same as in the manual, so you don't need. Plus, you cannot order the pad that goes at the bottom of the jack. I just used two wash cloths, and cut a hole in the middle to put under jack to keep from rattling, and tightened jack against them.
Only have 500 miles so far, but rides good and noise level good for this price range of car. Good radio. Good A/C and heat. Brakes are not the most quiet I have owned, but are the same as the Honda CRV I drove, and can be louder after they are wet from washing the car and sitting awhile, like many cars do. Part of it is because the car is not insulated as much in this price range, I feel. Most of the time don't notice anything with brakes. MPG about 28.5 with mostly city with me, and a little highway. Adequate power. More quiet engine than Honda CRV. Great seats compared to some imports I have owned or been in (SE version seats a little fancier cloth). Handling adequate. I don't like ABS brakes so I don't have them. I test drove SES version and ride is a little stiffer, but not much with the larger tires and stabilizer bar, and handle slightly better. I like the smoother ride without, and can manage the handling difference. This car catches the wind (crosswind) more than my other car which is lower to the ground and wider, so I think it is because of its height and shape and weight. But years ago I had a big Chevy Caprice that did the same even with its size and weight, because of its huge body. I'm use to it. Expectable with what this car is suppose to be, since not as expensive as my other car, and shaped different.
This is better value than a hybrid if you don't drive like a taxi, since the cost is $6,000 to $8,000 less to purchase, and probably actually more like $10,000 less when looking for a hybrid, and, you don't have to buy an expensive battery for the Focus eventually, like you do for the hybrid, which can be up to $4,000 I am told. Focus MPG is not that much less, and would take many years to get ahead with the hybrid for the average driver.
Dealers are available in rural areas more compared to many imports, which is nice when traveling, or living away from a city.
Have not used Sync yet. I don't need much but it came with the car.
Have tried a little and will try with phone later. Seems nice. '
I have recorded XM radio off the internet and put it on many disks, and canceled my subscription with my previous vehicle. I don't have satelite radio with this car, but I don't mind with the 6 disk player, which is nice. And I can plug other things into the system. If I would of ordered the car, I might have ordered the satelite just in case I wanted to activate it, but I can still activate my XM for a month and make new recordings, and then cancel....read morehide

I love this car. I usually get tired of cars fast but i've had this one for 3 motnhs and still love it as much as when i drove it off the lot. My gas mileage is now at 27.2 in the city.I live in tucson and there are stop lights every 5 minutes. I haven't taken it on the interstate yet, but with this mileage i can't wait to see what i get there. I love the sync, it works great with our ipod, i also hooked up my friends zune and it worked great with that as well. At first it was a little confusing but now we are pros. I love the 2 door, as i am married with no kids, but the four door would have been nice when friends want to ride along. I also love the looks inside the car, there are flashy lights, and the Player is deep in the dash so it would be extremely hard to steal. There aren't a lot of places to put stuff, just the glove box and middle console, which is nice but the cup holders are small and there's only on in the back. There are two extra on the driver side door. I didn't get mine with a sunroof, because at the dealership it was an extra 1000. for the sunroof to be stock, when i can pay someone who specializes in it 300. Over all i love this car....read morehide
