I brought my 2008 ford focus in june of 2009 and was involved in a car accident on november 19th. A tractor trailor on the highway ran my fiance off the road and the vehicle flipped a total of 4 times. Now the speed limit was 65 mph and not one of the air bags deployed. Not the steering wheel or the side curtain air bags, and i'm pregnant, imagine if I was in the vehicle during the crash. Luckily my fiance wasn't hurt only a little shoulder bruise, but I more than likely would of lost the baby. Safety? yea that's what we'll call it....read morehide

I purchased my Focus SES in Oct.2008 and two months later I had a terrible accident. The passenger side was completly smashed in, the air bag went off and I got out without a scratch!!Talk about a safe car. I purchased this vehicle about a year ago. I have the SES model. The main reason I got this car was because I wanted something with good gas mileage. I shopped around and was looking at purchasing a hybrid, either the civic or prius. After test driving though I liked this one because of all the extras like SYNC, leather seats, sun roof, and remote start. However a year later I'm a little unhappy just because of the MPG. I only get 28 MPG. I drive about 80% of the time on the highway, of course in Kentucky the speed limit is 70 MPH so I'm sure that is another factor. I'm 6'2" and I felt better after a round trip to Indianapolis from Cleveland in the Focus, than I did in our larger Taurus. Performance is fine for a small car. We needed better economy than the larger sedan was getting and we're getting 31+ combined city/highway.

I was driving a used 2001 Ford Focus and decided to trade it in on a new one back in March. I never dreamed I would like this car as much as I do! I look forward going to work now because I know I get to drive my new Focus!

Great gas milage, comfy seats

This is my second Focus. My first one is a 2000 that my husband is driving now and I get the new car. I love this car!! It has cruise control, power windows & locks (my old car didn't). Plus I love the stereo and SYNC. I'm getting about 37 MPG and I use the a/c constantly.
I love the car because of the trunk space and the quiet ride. My husband loves it because of all the cool features, comfy seats, and tons of space for his gear (he's military).
I've driven my car roundtrip from Kansas to Virginia, and loved every second of it. I noe have almost 8000 miles on my car and I'm still loving it.

I did not plan on purchasing this car when I went to the Ford dealership six months ago. However, it was on the lot as a demo model that the dealer had been driving, so I thought I'd give it a try. Needless to say, I love this car! The gas mileage is fantastic (almost 35 mpg), the amenities are top-notch (SYNC), and the air conditioning works great (which is very important to me!). I bought this car and it is a beautiful Vista Blue Metallic with Black leather interior. I saw the cloth...no thanks. Opt for the leather to make the car look a little more upscale. The Ambiant lighting is cool and the car is loaded with features for a car in this price range. The ride is comfortable, smooth, and pretty quiet overall. Gas milage is fantastic 35MPG with the 5 speed and that makes the car really shine. The lack of a locking gas cap and trunk mechanism is hard to understand being the car has so many other features. The Sync system is great with my IPOD. I never thought I'd see the day where I tell my car what to play and it plays it. "Play artist Led Zepplin" and the tunes start rockin. The worst feature on the car is the trunk carpeting!! It is the thinest carpet (if you even want to call it that) I've ever seen on a car anywhere period!!!! It's like 2 sheets folded together and it shifts around with ease. I went out and bought an aftermarket molded rubber trunk mat and the problem was solved. I had to get it. Everytime I opened the trunk, I got mad looking at it! I also bought a trunk net at a ford dealer to hold small items etc. Overall the car can't be beat for the price and I'm happy I bought it but come on Ford but some sturdier carpet in the trunk....read morehide

Brake lights go out about every 1,000 miles. Dealer can't figure out why.

Great car, great value, drives great. Has the comfort that older drivers like; sporty looks that the younger drivers like. The only problem has been the brake lights go out about every 1,000 miles and no one can figure out why. Otherwise, the 2008 Focus is a great car for the money.
