A Young Mans View

by Dan from Southern California (7/09/08)
Pros:Dash, Handling, Sound System w/ Ax Inputs
Cons:Tiny Glove Box, Cant open trunk w/o keychain

I bought my custom GT back in November. I have over 6k on it now and I don't have any problems with it. A couple minor hassles are the tiny glove box and there isn't a trunk opener in the actual vehicle. Considering how much space is ABOVE the glove box, they could have made it a bit wider. Blah blah blah about the airbag, airbags do not need that much room to explode if needed.

I ordered mine and waited a couple of months due to the fact I wanted an Alloy Metallic w/o leather. I'm 23 living in SoCal, having hot leather seats when I get in my car doesn't sound good to me. Plus, I just dont like leather so paying an add'l 800 or so was not an option. DEFINITELY get the interior upgrade and the GT looks package. Those two are just 700 or so...at least it was for me. I got the Shaker 500 solely due to the AUX input. I'm an Ipod fiend and the hookup into the center console is PERFECT. I mean, you could get an aftermarket system and it will probably sound better but the Shaker 500 is pretty nice and I dont have to really worry about much since I purchased the extended warranty.

Those that are worried about the back seat...don't buy this car. The back seat isn't really that bad. My friend has the same model so I've sat in the backseat for a while. The tough part is getting out of the vehicle. I'm almost 6 feet tall so my feet always get stuck. Nonetheless, if you are worried about the back seat room you need to go get a 4 door car and stop being such a wussy.

One of the main reasons why I purchased this vehicle is because it is a 2 door vehicle. Go get a Charger or 300 if you want extra room.

American technology

by Europ from Europe (7/07/08)
Pros:You must be joking
Cons:210 HP from 4.0L engine?!!!

I'm surprised of the power/engine volume ratio of this car. I have an european diesel car which gets 207 HP from 2.7L diesel engine. We had such ratios on petrol engines 20 years ago.
For petrol engines we have a now ratio of 100HP per Litre, so an European car with an engine this size will have 400HP.
Are all the american "supercars" that performant?

Fun fun fun...

by Jeff Kempin from Chicago IL (7/03/08)
Pros:Looks, styling, acceleration, roomy
Cons:back seat is useless.

I just bought a 2008 GT Premium a week ago and I couldn't be happier with it. I got the 5 speed stick, which is sometimes a pain for city driving, but once you get some road in front of you, you can unwind the engine and it will put a smile on your face every time.
I was surprised how roomy the interior is, especially for someone like me who is 6'4". I have plenty of headroom and legroom.
Do yourself a favor and get the interior upgrade package. It dresses up the interior very nicely, otherwise you are looking at a wall of black plastic on the dash.
The handling is very nimble and responsive and the car rides like its on rails. Being able to change the colors of the dash gauges is a cool feature, as is the ambient lighting. At night, it lights up the footwells and the cupholders and is something a little unique.
I've gotten several compliments from strangers in parking lots about this car. The retro styling is top notch and the performance is fantastic even if you keep it bone stock from the factory. It's just a cool car all around. I'm very glad I got one!

Excellent car with great performance

by James in Palm Beach Gardens from Palm Beach Gardens, FL (6/28/08)
Pros:Engine sound, perfromance, value, comofort, practicality, and yes - fuel mileage
Cons:Slightly slow reving engine up to about 3,000 rpm, (solid rear axle if you want to get picky)

My Mustang is a 2007 GT I bought new. I now have 24,000+ miles on it and I'm extremely happy with it in every aspect. The performance is great, but you can read about that in the car mags. I'm telling you the other stuff they won't. The build quality is easily equal to any Japanese import. Very sound. I must admit, I was surprised to find that in a Ford, but I did. And acording to the trip computer, when I fill up and get right on the freeway...I can acheive an average mile per gallon rating of 30 MPG after about an hour of cruising at about 65 mph. Not bad! (That's with the standard 3.31 rear axle.)

I get a huge grin on my face every time I start this car. The engine nearly explodes with a sweet sounding growl that just makes you want to go out and drive! If you like the sound of a powerful engine with lots of horsepower (and even more torque), you'll love the GT. Did you know the 4.6L motor in the GT has won awards for its overall design and performance? Go to the Ford webite and you'll find out about it.

Overall, this is a great car. I've had great experience with it and am very pleased. It's not the most sophisticated car out there, but if you're looking for performance, value, comfort and usefullness (large trunk with fold down rear seats and seating for 4 people), you can't go wrong buying a Mustang GT. If you're thinking about buying one, just do it. You won't regret it!

I don't work for Ford, but I can tell you they hit the ball out of the park with this car.

Fast Car! Real Fast!!! Thanks Ford

by Project V8 from Dallas Tx (6/25/08)
Pros:Blast to drive; 0-60 mph in just 5.1 secs
Cons:Ride is a bit stiff but expected for a sports car. Mileage is only about 17-23mpg.

I own a Black V8 2007 Ford Mustang GT deluxe model which I bought brand new last year. And I tell you, it is a rocket! They say it goes from 0-60 in 5.6 seconds, but my GT (with manual transmission) can go 0-60 in just 5.1 seconds!! Not sure what they put under the hood, but you feel truckloads of power once you hit 4000 rpm. And mine is in pure stock form: No power adders, no after market intakes and mufflers. Pure stock.

I love to take my Mustang to work everyday. The ride is pretty decent for a sports car. It feels a bit heavy on cornering, but very behaved on highways. V8 engine sound is very alluring and I always get the thumbs up sign!! Maybe you were thinking about Nissan 350Z, Infiniti G35, Lexus IS 350, or even the Lotus Exige S, you name it: The mustang will smoke them all in an open highway based on my experience.

It's been one year and I am still happy and smiling every time I enter the car and drive it to work. It's airconditioning is still cold and pleasant as the day I got it from the dealership. The plastics inside are expected, as you can't buy luxury features at only $26.5K. With 300 HP and 320 Tq, you'd find that to be a bargain.

Overall, Ford did its homework well. When you're thinking of buying a car that you can pass on to your children, or just to have fun for daily driving and commuting, and of course to feel the remnant's of genuine 60's retro styling in a tight and fast package, THEN THE MUSTANG GT IS FOR YOU!!! Do it right. Get the GT.

Why Mustang?

by Michael from Salt Lake City (6/25/08)
Pros:Mean sounding exhaust and great flashback looks
Cons:Live Axle Ratio (ancient supension system) & Heavy Car for Muscle Car

You can buy a 2003-2004 C-5 Corvette for mush less than one of these new. Better supension, better MPG 22 City and 28 Highway Average, Weights 600 pounds less and you get an additional 50 HP above and beyond the Mustang GT's Horsepower. There is a BIG improved difference between a sports car and a muscle car. You also get heads up display, be able to take the targa top of on nice days, and who needs half seats in the back anyway that only a 4 year old could fit in. Drive both and then tell me which one you would pick.

Whew....What a Ride !

by Judy Wheeler from Reseda , CA... (6/23/08)
Pros:What a sweet ride ! Best handling car in this rice range. Hugs the road like it's a monorail!
Cons:I can't come up with a single "con"! Maybe the backseat is a bit hard to climb into. Not an issue!

Can't say enough about the road handling. Love it when going 80 mph.....push the pedal to the metal....( I have an automatic Gt 2007) Whoa...It has another gear ! I love the sound of all the air this ride sucks in !

MUSTANG IS KICKIN PONY

by Debra Eslmore from Washington Georgia (6/17/08)
Pros:handling, fuel economy, awesome looks, enjoyable to drive
Cons:small interior, increased road noise due to low ride

This is by far my most favorite car. I have had so many comments on my car you would not believe it. It's handling and performance is better than any I have seen including the Chevy Camaro. When needed for passing or just getting out of someone's way pickup is amazing. I wouldn't trade my Mustang for ANYTHING!

Mustang owner

by Bullittz22 from Renton, WA (6/17/08)
Pros:Fun to drive with decent throttle response. Nice leather interior.
Cons:Useless back seats. Get rid of them with a seat delete kit.

08 torch red premium V6. Blacked out lights all the way round. Leather interior with the shaker 500. Smooth ride but 18 in wheels would be nice. Dual exhaust and ECM flash will give better throttle response. Right. 19 mpg around town and 24-28 mpg highway depending on my habits. Tower strut bar yeilds better handling just like a Bullitt. With a cold air intake and the above mentioned upgrades you can boost your HP from 210 stock up to 240 hp depending on your setup. Underdrive pulleys will help reduce engine drag thus freeing up hp in the engine. Oh i could go on and on but you get the point. GT's are great but i don't wanna race you to the next gas station. V6's are cheaper to insure so what else can i say. Get a premium package when you buy, its worth the money. DO NOT GET PAINT PROTECTION. Have a shop do it later.Louvers for the back window are next along with a front chin spoiler. You know you want one so go get one, just not Sound Ford in renton WA, Shady dealer for sure.

Mustang number 4 for me.

by Shawn415 from San Francisco, California (6/15/08)
Pros:Very sporty. Good on gas for a V8. Fun on the highway.
Cons:Them dam cup holders get in the way.

YES, this is mustang #4 for me and its one of the best. My 3 year old son loves this car. His car seat fits just fine in the back. As a matter of fact, you can fit 2 car seats in the back pretty well. HOWEVER, its hard to put 1 adult back there. I only say that it has good value because I got a deal that was too good to be true.
