I have had nothing but fun with my mustang! And the people that get bad mileage must gun it all the time! I average about 18 in city 21 combined and have gotten 26 on the freeway at a constant 75mph.

Good news first.
Fantastic V8 bellow, and looks pretty evil too.
Bad news.
The engine produces such a tiny amount of power for its size. And for a V8 fastback, its painfully slow. The suspension in the mustang hasnt changed since the stone age which means riding an actual mustang would be more comfy. It feels like your riding on rocks the whole time. The axle at the back is fixed, which is technology used from the model T. The brakes are horrible and so is the steering...and the aerodynamics, and the mustangs weight rivals most vehicles that start with the name "U.S.S.".
Its fuel economy is poor and the interior was probably made out of paper.
All in all this is a horrible car, and would not wish it on my worst enemies...read morehide

The longer I own this car the more I love it. The price to performance ratio is hard to beat. The aftermarket support is unrivaled. Its tight on back seat leg room but the bucket seat comfort more than makes up for it. Still turns heads. Insurance and regularly scheduled maintenance is very affordable. No unscheduled maintenance so far. Gas mileage is surprisingly good even when driven fast. This truely is the "every man's sports car"....read morehide

I love Mustangs. This is my 7th. I have a 2008 Pony V-6 and just got a great deal on a 2008 GT Premium. Love that employee pricing. $11,000 from msrp (including rebates). There is no better value out there.
The car is fast but not brutal. It handles well, better than most. it sounds good, looks great, and is just fun to drive. Decent gas mileage (manual).
This car was delivered perfect, and shows just how good American workers can put together a car. I am happy to buy American....read morehide

Although the Mustang has been America's favorite pony car, it isnât the best performance car out there. Issues like lack of stiff cornering and quick take-off on stock Mustangs and Mustang GTs has been Fordâs problem when competing against the opposition (like Camaro). Now that the Bullitt is out, things are looking better for Ford. The ride is stiffer but not unpractical, like the Corvette Z06âs super duper agonizing suspension (watch out for that fissure on the pavement⦠ouch, too late). The acceleration has been improved with a combination of a highly calibrated engine, a Tremec 5 speed and a 3.73:1 differential. Especially since the Bullittâs upgraded suspension will now be applied to the newer 2010 mustang, this will make things a little interesting in the new pony car duel between Ford and Chevy....read morehide

This was one of my dream cars and finally bought one. Though I would use it as a second car on weekends but turns out I use it daily and my other car on the weekends. Excellent performance overall and great acceleration with the stock engine.

I had my car for about a week then needed some warrenty work done. The dealership (FORD) gave me a run around. The paint on the hood, roof, trunk and spoiler was like sand paper. I was told that I would have to live with it. The windshield was so water spotted that was burned into the glass that I couldn't get it removed. Dealship stated live with it. Now for the car handles great, lots of power, High speed gear needs to be different to lower RPM's. It has power when needed to get around trucks and other vehicles that think they can beat you. Be careful in the dealership you buy at....read morehide

I got the no options 2008 Mustang GT. I have to say I love this car. I will Admit that I am a mustang fan, however this is the first mustang that I have owned. I have driven other sports cars including, Porsche and Jaguar. This is not a car that you can really compare to a European or Japanese sports car. If you do then you are really missing the point.
This is the car that represents more than any other car, the stars and stripes. Let me put it this way; America = football, apple pie, and the Ford mustang. This car has got to be one of the best valued cars in the world as far as looks and performance go. It will go flat out at 150 mph and still get you gas mileage in the upper to mid 20's. Name any other car that can do that.
As far as Corvettes go, they are a fantastic car, but they are out of the price range of most buyers and not that practical. Also, good luck fitting 3 or 4 people in a Vette. Don't forget, you pay for the extra power. The mustang costs 85 dollars per h.p.(300 bhp) where as the corvette, you will be paying 95 dollars per h.p. (430 bhp) and on premium fuel. (prices were from base models of both cars with the V8)
So in closing if you want a car that goes fast and looks great, with plenty of personality, you can do no wrong with the Mustang GT....read morehide

Don't get me wrong, I love this car. Even more so after I made some adjustments and upgrading. For the money this is by far the best sportscar you can get your hands on. After I replaced the suspension (lowering + suspension kit from Eibach) , bigger wheels and tires and a new brake kit, it handles like a sportscar should. I wish Ford would also given the car a better look on the lower part of the front end. But after getting me a chin spoiler and a few other minor upgrades I will drive this wonderful piece of american muscle till the tires fall off....read morehide

Love this car - can't wait to drive it. Great power & handling. Averaging 20 mpg - could do alot better if I could only slow down. Mach 500 stereo sounds great - only wish it had usb input instead of 1/8 jack.
Just wished Ford offer some certain options. No remote controll start option, no compass or tempeture display & no sync on mustang yet. These few options would add more enjoyment to this already great car....read morehide
