Purchased As Used
We bought this vehicle with only 302 miles on it. Today, it has 4,000 and we are lucky to eek out 16 mpg, under very normal driving conditions. The car comes with a gas gauge, where your mileage will improve if you keep it within the "green" sweet spot. In order to do that, you must accelerate very slowly and you will get run over if attempting to enter onto a freeway. Secondly, if the RPM's exceed 1800, the needle goes out of the sweet spot and your mileage is reduced, dramatically. It goes from 8 cylinder mode to 4 mode when held under 1,800 RPM's. Do you know where that is? Approximately 60 miles per hour. They also stripped down the weight of this vehicle, aluminum replacing steel, eliminated the luggage rack, thinned out the seats, etc, in an attempt to offset the weight of the battery under the back seat. I would welcome some comments from others, but would speculate that if you had this same gauge on a regular Yukon and followed the same driving patterns, you would get as high, or higher, mpg of the Yukon Hybrid. This technology exists, but it is very marginal, maybe 10% more. After ripping on this car, I will say that I love it. It just doesn't get the gas mileage, or anywhere near it, "as advertised". Be prepared for that if you are considering this vehicle. I would buy a Yukon Denali and be done with it....read morehide
