I really like the fuel economy--I get about 34 on road and 30 around town. Interior comfort is OK, but not great. I am tall and wear size 11.5 shoes and I sometimes get my clutch foot caught under the dash. The worst thing is a lack of torque when starting in first gear. It's OK going downhill and tolerable on the flat, but very difficult on an uphill start and I have over 50 years experience with stick shifts. Ride is quite noisy and old concrete pavement and harsh on large bumps and potholes...read morehide

This is my second new Honda in two years as I was looking for resale value and the much advertised Honda quality. I must say the quality is a myth. I have had more trouble than any other make of car ever owned 5 service trips in 2 years. Also, I live in snowy climate and the Hondas are not engineered for this at all. Poor visibility, poor traction, undersized defroster, window edge that collects snow, plastic parts that are consumed by the road salt blast, low quality easily scratched interior parts. I could go on forever. The last straw, my 2008 Civic has 3,265 miles and has an oil leak. I am also very disappointed in my dealers service policy of wait 3-6 days no matter what. Honda quality and engineering appears to be all hype. I will never own another. Perhaps Toyotas are better. I was much happier with my 195,000 mile buick that never had an issue from 0 miles on and was like a tank in the snow. The Honda extra bit of mileage and higher resale is not worth the lack of features and quality....read morehide

I love this car! I've put on 12,000 miles, done 2 oil changes, and that's it for maintenance. Everything works. I have gotten 39.5 mpg on the highway at 70-75 mph. Normal commute/driving is 50/50 freeway/stop-and-go and I get around 27-28 mpg with regular 87 octane gas. I couldn't believe when I hit a year, it drives like it was new. I talked my son into buying an EX-coupe, and he and his wife love it. Did I say it was "zippy"? It IS!...read morehide

Great engine and a nice driving car. Great gas mileage and looks great. The longer I own this car the less I like the interior. Less than 15,000 miles and seats and rugs are already showing wear! Seats are so uncomfortable on long drives that I've started renting cars for drives over 200 miles. Test drive this car A LOT before buying it. Maybe I'm getting old, but Honda isn't the great car I remember from my youth....read morehide

Have 16500 mile on car.Just got back from florida; 5000 miles and got between 37-43 mpg depending on how we drove the car. The power seemed fine for us at cruising speeds between 65-75 mph. Had plenty of passing speed too! Have had Lincoln Navigator at 12.7 mpg and traded a Cadillac Srx for our Honda; the Honda Civic actually rides better than the cadillac did; we hated that car....read morehide

Great on gas (36 mpg avg) great ride. Dash and front area are roomy and well placed. Love the speedometer and the way it sets way back by itself. Very comfortable ride on both long & s trips. Lot of luggage & golf club room in the trunk with the fold down seats. Heard the parking brake was in a bad location but I don't find it inconvienent at all, my leg rests comfortable by it. Great Buy for the price!...read morehide

Love my car. had it for 7 months, and it has over 12,000 miles. I wish driver side seat opened for back like the passanger does...but oh well. The road noise is my only real complaint. Needs to be quieter! I can get 38 mpg in this car, easy.

I purchased my EX-L in August and, with the exception of a mpg, I have not been disappointed. Great looks, easy handling, especially parking on tight city streets. It takes a little time to adjust to the fact that, from the front seat, this car appears to have no hood. Somewhat underpowered, but gets the job done when entering a highway or passing. Living in the North, heated seats are the greatest invention!
My only disappointment is gas milage. I drive mostly country roads, not highway but not city driving either. After 4 months and 4500 miles, I average about 28mpg and I was expecting to be in the low 30 range. The small gas tank (13.2 gal) and the subsequently lower driving range (about 330 miles) requires more frequent fill-ups which is somewhat annoying....read morehide

I was using Civic 2004 prior to this. This car is more stable and powerful and more economical. Quality is better. Alloy rims must be replaced with a more attractive rims. The front pillar some times hides the car coming from corner.

We bought this Civic and a Mazda 3 at the same time. This car gets much better mileage (~36 hwy, 31 City) than the 3, but has a lot less power. It has a light touch, but is loose compared with sportier cars. It has decent power, but don't expect a sports car.
The front seat is comfortable, but the roof is a bit low in the back for tall riders (too bad for my son), but otherwise has good room for four. The telescoping steering wheel makes driving position good.
The heads up digital instrument display is easy to read.
So far, it's been very reliable. My previous Hondas have been good too.
This is a good looking, good value car. I recommend it highly....read morehide
