Purchased As New
Only 3 month into owning the car, I tailgated a Saab on he high way and nearly wrecked the car. The car in front of me only suffered little damage to the trunk. Stay away from Honda as their car is poorly designed. I am luck to be alive.

I have had my eye on this car for some time. What attracted me to this car was its great blend of performance, practicality, and honda reliability. After owning this car for about 2 weeks now I can honestly say the car is everything I thought it would be. The performance is excellent if you can keep the RPM's up as it has a 8k redline and most of the power is reserved for when the VTEC kicks in around 5500 RPM's. Cornering is solid and agile even with the all-season radials. Braking power is excellent with the 11.5 ventilated disc brakes up front which don't feel too "grabby" like my last car the nissan maxima. Steering feel is generally good although it feels a little too soft at low speeds. The 6-speed gearbox is very good, although shifting from 2nd to 3rd can be difficult at times. It feels like it does'nt want to engage ito 3rd sometimes. This problem seems to be more of an issue if you shift out of 2nd too soon. The interior design has received some criticism from the press, but I like the 2 tier dash with the electronic speedo. It really feels like you are riding in a bigger car. Fit and finish is very good with some room for improvement as some plastics don't line up well but not a big deal. Awesome car....read morehide

I recently purchased this car for the commute to work (80 miles each way). I could've bought the standard model but the Si just jumped out at me. It's a fun car to drive, the handling is great. This is my third Honda and have never had a problem with them. Easily the quickest of the three. I have the Navi system in it and it's great. I just wish the vehicle had like Onstar or was Bluetooth enabled but I hear that Honda has fixed that on next years model... :( Overall I am very happy with the vehicles performance and would buy one again if I could....read morehide

I've had my Civic Si Sedan for about 3 months, and have put roughly 5,500 miles on it. For the same price there is nothing I would recommend getting instead of this car; it is an amazing machine. It handles like a go-kart, with amazing tire grip lead by the standard stability and traction controls. Even in slippery, set weather, the limited slip differential takes care of the hard turns with ease.
Also, you get SO much along with incredible gas mileage. In the city, the worse I have gotten back was 27mpg. On the highway, I have gotten 35mpg or maybe a little more. The gearbox is amazing; very intuitive and precise. Also, the pedal weighting is exactly how it should be: nice, light clutch, and a powerful brake system.
The V-TEC Engine is superb. Power at 6,000+ rpm will give you goosebumps (and so with the engine ROAR!). This car has got me hooked on hondas....read morehide

had the car for about 4 months, so far i'm absolutely loving the car. i try to find a reason to take it out for a spin. put it on the highway and just go cruising. unfortunately picked up my first speeding ticket but its not going to stop me from enjoying it! it's my recreational car as I don't need a car to get to work. definitely recommend it if you want a car to drive for fun and stayin around 22k out-the-door price range....read morehide

The car is fun and there is no doubt about it. Once you have the car up to speed and the RPM's are over 4,500 the car goes from office geek to athlete mode. The sound of the engine is nice and the fuel economy is great.
The only thing that wold make this ride better would be the placement of the parking barke. Its location puts it in a position where your pant leg rubs against it and before you know it the surface paint is gone. Add more torque even if it means two to three miles less to the gallon and this would be a perfect car for the price. I will continue to buy Honda....read morehide

I got this car 4 month ago and now this is the one of best fun to drive car ever drive now.
Thanks, Honda.
Engine
...Smooth as motor cycle until 8000rpm. No stress until red zone.
...Fine tuned exhaust note.
Shifter
...Too far from driving position.
This is the one of the biggest deduction.
I suppose this car is too much loaded considering its sporty character.
I don't need a moon roof, I don't need a rear wing.
I wish this car lost weight off 200lbs...
and 1K less expensive....read morehide

Overall, I've been very happy with it. The Civic has come a very long way since my last civic (a 95 EX). The driving experience is great. It makes all the right motions and sounds. It just "feels" right.
I do have some complaints, but none enough to really hurt how much I love this car.
The A/C is really weak when at idle. That's probably my biggest beef since I live in Southeast Texas. As long as your moving, it's ice cold.
The ABS is really intrusive sometimes when taking a corner at moderate speed. Really disconcerting the first few times.
Suspension pops sometimes when travelling at parking lot speeds.
Some of the plastic used in the interior is very easy to scuff. Both front doors have scuffs that won't come off and are fairly ugly....read morehide

I bought the car just when it came out in 2006 and have loved it ever since. I received so many compliments that I lost count. And the power and handling is great. All I need to do is shift down a couple of gears and the car comes to life. I even bought the Navigation system which is a very useful feature. But the greatest thing I love about the my SI is its fuel economy at 29-34 MPG consistently. No other 6 cylinder cars I was looking at in 2006 offered that kind of mileage.
The flip side obviously is that you cannot expect to race a Mustang GT on a red line and expect to win...but all that power will definitely help you pass other cars and trucks on the freeway easily....and race them if you have to. It is a very fun car to drive and is a smooth cruiser even at 100+ mph....read morehide

Very good value for your money. Great balance of fuel economy and performance. I've owed dozens of cars, from high horse power machines to sensible hybrids. This offers a nice balance of both. I still own the gas guzzlers for various needs, however the Civic Si still delivers good performance, handling, looks and fuel economy. I'm very happy....read morehide
