Living room couch comfort. Easy as a small car to drive. Feels like safest car on the road.

Cons

Poor fuel economy. Entire rear view is a blind spot.

Best car I've ever owned and can't imagine not having it, considering that I also have a 350z and I traded a mint 2005 Mercedes E500 for it. Quieter than the Benz. Incredibly comfortable interior. Silky smooth ride. Great turning radius. No shortage of room. Other than the blind spot and poor (city) fuel economy, this is a flawless vehicle. The "haters" have absolutely (and I mean ABSOLUTELY) no clue what they are talking about when they try to rip on it! It's likely just out of jealousy but they convince themselves otherwise. Looks, great tow vehicle, winch on front yanks trees off the road or you out of a ditch.Done both.

Cons

Plastic shifter, hatch door breaks easily.Rack bar hold down knobs small breaks. Under engineered.

My 05 H-2 let me travel past winter when others were spinning out on ice/flooded roads. Problems- many parts under engineered for average road travel. Lots of plastic which breaks easily, shifter $332, back hatch $500, interior vents, exterior mirrors, fuel line $750, rack towers 1/8 inch garbage. With cars like this why does GM need a bailout? GAS, GAS, GAS...pay to play so if you are worried about money this is not the car for you. If you have a boy scout troop sharing gas expense and want no problems getting where others are not found then this is a good choice. Not a commuter car for single person. Part of me loves the car and the other half hates its poor engineering and weak undersized parts needed for the job to be done. Hummer as it is currently made will not survive the changing market place except for those who want the look and have the money. Fewer and fewer with the current administration's plan of socialistic change. So, get yours now and put in aftermarket fixes to beef up the bad GM choices and all will be good. My wife and I have had our H2 2008 for about two weeks. We have had so much fun just watching peoples turn there heads when we drive by. We got a very good deal on our H2. We told each other that since we saved almost 4000.00 on it that we could use that saving to help pay for the extra gas that this hummer uses. Over all we are very happy with our new hummer, the only thing I would say if you were going to look at getting one is to check the size of your garage . I had to adjust my Garage door to go all the way open. Test drive one and bring it to your home to make sure it fits don't bank on measurements, your garage floor is built with a upward sloop. luggage racks add several inch's but can be removed and stored until you really need them....read morehide

Gas, parking & blind spots!

I bought mine in '04 after the twins were born. it is so safe and confertable. I would not trade it in for anything nor would my boys let me. I work less than a mile from my office so gas is not a problem go me $100 per month. but i do only average 11.3 MPG so yikes. Overall i would recomend this car if you have the money and want to walk a way form almost any accident. It would be a dream if they could figure out a way to make this SUV alt fuel....read morehide

Killer at the pump, acceleration is a joke, avoid driving this SUV in places like Britain

You have to love the 393 hp V8 engine that's in the H2. You also have to love the classic Hummer 4x4 handling and the classic Hummer apearance. And now the H2 seats 7 people total and has more features inside; that's also a few things you have to love about this SUV.

But you would have to be rich enough to pay like $100 for gas for the H2. And you would have to be stupid enough to rent an H2 and drive it in places like Britain and France where the streets over there are small and crammed with cars. Acceleration? THIS TRUCK IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND AWESOME TO DRIVE AND OWN. I GET OVER 500 MILES ON 1 TANK OF GAS AND I COULD CARE LESS ABOUT SPENDING AN EXTRA 1500 A YEAR ON GAS VS HAVING A 4 DOOR CAR OR WHATEVER. WHEN IT COMES TO SAFTEY, DURABILITY, COMFORT, AND KNOWING WHEN I HAVE TO LEAVE AT 2:30AM TO GO TO ER CALL AT HOSPITAL MY HUMMER WILL GET ME THERE NO MATTER IF IT IS IN THE MIDDLE OF SNOW, RAIN, SLEET, OR WHATEVER CONDITION. A MONTH AGO WHEN IT SNOWED HERE IN CLEVELAND MY WIFE COULDNT EVEN GET HER STUPID CAMRY OUT OF THE GARAGE. THANK YOU HUMMER. THE NEW 6-SPEED TRANNY AND MOTOR ARE AWESOME. IF IT HELPS TO EASE THE CRAZY PEOPLE WHO ATTACK HUMMER FOR STUPID REASONS, I ONLY HAVE TO USE 87 OCTANE. Gas Hog and underperformer. All image and no substance. Plan on visiting gas stations regularly.

Overated, overpriced, and underperformer for people who are more interested in power image than in a true value vehicle.

I have had mine since 2003 nd it is the best vehicle I own. I have dressed it up and put running lights and underbody kit yet for me safety is the most important and people will get out of your way and I have helped many during last years flood from being swept away.
I drove the military version for quite some time and and when they developed the H2 I had to get get one, and even with the gas prices the way they are. Safety is the most important thing for me and my family and the H2 provides it all. Safety, comfort luxury style and durability.
