I bought this car used with 98K miles. Best luxury car I have owned. Immacualte condition throughout. Garage kept. Well maintained. Car Fax rated this car 100% free of troubles. I have the gold package for that year and is loaded with features. This cat can leap out of the pack for a 6cyl, with two driving modes to choose. This car handles like a sport sedan. We had two S-types previously, could not afford the big cat. Now, at the end of 2008 we got 16K discount and the dealer paid off few months on the remaining S-type lease. Beautiful, luxurious purebread with plenty of power and good MPG, about 20 on average. Only problem we have is faulty tire pressure sensor. In last two weeks since we got it the car was back in the shop twice without any resolution. Still it is very unique in its shape, pleasure to be in. Lucas electronic gremlins will be beaten. Hurry, Jaguar will not make these cars after 2009. They all be looking like overgrown Hondas....read morehide

Fuel Economy

This car is absolutley magnificent and divine. Navigation, Leather, Heated Seats, and an at-ease feeling surround you. I never thought i would drive/own a "car". I'm more of an SUV lover myself. I have had a Cadillac Escalade, Infiniti QX56, and a Porsche Cayenne, and they don't stand up to this. The only negative i find is the fuel economy. I know it's a V8 model, but i get around 22 mpg highway. Overall, however, this car is a true gem. I love it, and i have no doubts reguarding it at all. I paid about $95,000, but it's worth it all. The speed limits on the highways are too low to truly enjoy the cat's power.

I am still driving my third XJ and am getting ready to trade it in. Been driving xj's for 8 years and still have the same type of feeling when I get in it every day. I drive a lot and want to be comfortable. If I feel like jumping on it, she purrs demurely as she quietly overtakes. She is like any cat, indifferent to what people think, always knowing that she is the "Cat's Meow". when it has rained and you open the rear trunk your trunk gets wet and everything in it gets soaked

The car is just about near perfection, the inteiror is large, great lagroom, the dash is handsome and easy to read, the sun/moon roof is quite and opens and closes with one touch.

The ride is quite and smooth, the 300 HP engine is plenty big and good on gas on the highway. Everyone that rides in it comments about the beauty of the cabin and the soft smooth ride. The car turns and handles as well as a small sports car. It's pure CLASS and when it's on the road people turn their heads to admire it. I have had great cars before but this one has a little bit of everything and more....read morehide

I have always Liked Jaguars, despite many friends telling me not to buy them.. I have had excellent luck with them, I have had very little to minor issues. This is my third Jaguar. They run excellent if you do the service maintenance required ADVISE TAKE IT TO YOUR TRUSTED MECHANIC CAUSE I HAVE HAD THE EXPERIENCE OTHER MECHANICS TAKE ADVANTAGE.. For the moon roof incident, Jaguar went beyond and even rented me a free car of equal value while they fixed it... I WOULD RECOMMEND THE XJ SERIES TO ANYONE...I have one with 210,000 97 xj6. and I just got the new XJ8......read morehide

So far, the 2008 XJ8L earns a better grade than its previous model years.

I loathed the front end look at first, but it has now grown on me. Overall, its sportier look is a more refreshing refinement this outdated styling can depend upon. Comparing to my former '06 XJ8L, it's much quieter and definitely more pleasant to drive.

By the way, the '06 was re-purchased by Jaguar USA because it turned out to be a real sour lemon. It was a tough fight with Jaguar to have it declared as such, and an even tougher fight to get a reimbursement. The Jaguar dealership in San Diego was great to deal with while the Jaguar Consumer Affairs office who handled the buy-back was bully and extremely discourteous. The kid who handled the case must have been a former member of Cribs or Bloods.

Despite all that, the new 2008 XJ8L is a real blast! I love the cooled/heated seats as well as the updated adjustments for them....read morehide

Looks Great Beautifully disegn, smooth, very confortable, Not bad on the gas Mileage, extremely quite smooth ride, good for long distance travel

As the unit is on the block,the new management is a ? mark.

I have used this car for six years in the best,worst road conditions and also had one of the worst accedents and come out of it with out a scrach.
