I Love My Jeep. Even with the noise from the slider on the highway it's still great. Just crank up the CD player and sing out loud, it's worth the little bit of noise to feel like your in a convertible but without all the bugs hitting you in the face and your hair getting messed up.

This is my first SUV and I love it...looks beefy on the exterior but rides comfortably, handles well, and (with the 6 speed manual) has plenty of "pep". Tremendous amount of room with all seats being "fold flat". Seats could be a little plusher and the front buckets are way too deep, its hard for shorter legged people to bend their knees! Bought 5 weeks ago and, except for the gas mileage, I'm extremely pleased...but if I wanted 30 miles to the gallon I'd buy a Smart Car!...read morehide

I ordered my '08 Jeep Liberty from the dealer and I have owned it for 1 a year and half now. I ordered it with the manual 6 speed transmission instead of the automatic as I have read reviews on the automatic transmission shifting problems from Car & Driver review.

I had a Jeep Cherokee Sport for 10 years. Never any major problems, had 153,000 miles. Put it beside the road, and sold it in 2 days for $3000. Had several people wanting it. Bought 2008 new Jeep Liberty Sport 4x2 - 2 weeks ago. I love it! I didn't expect great gas mileage. If you can read or think you know how it will do. My other Jeep averaged 21-22 mpg. I checked the new one and got 20 mpg on first tank. And that was driving 75-80 on the interstate. I like the rugged Jeep look - it is what a Jeep is supposed to look like. I hope to get the great service from this one as my old Jeep. Got oil changed every 3500 miles, tires rotated then also. 2nd set of Goodyear tires still on it. I have had it almost 4 weeks and have had it back in the shop 2 times. My sunroof is leaking,

the back glass is leaking and I hear air coming in around my drivers side door. I wish I would have read this review page before buying my jeep. When I took it to the dealership BOTH times, they said that any type vechicle you buy with a sunroof WILL leak. And on top of that, he couldn't seem to find a leak on the back glass.... HELLO... when i drove it last week in the rain, it was trickling down the inside of the back glass. I AM VERY UNHAPPY WITH MY JEEP. This vehicle is JUNK.

I have had my Liberty for a year and 1/2 and in that time I have had three recalls on it, all four windows have had to be replaced, a new torque converter had to be installed and NOW the transmission is slipping. I don't even have 25,000 miles on it yet and it's been in the shop 14 times. Can't trade it in for something that's not JUNK because it's already lost $10,000 in value. Seriously, the 2008 trade in value is $12,500 and the purchase price is over $20,000. When we contacted Jeep about our problems, basically we were told to hire an attorney or deal with it. I truly have enjoyed driving and owning this car. I purchased it because at the time my mother was alive and I needed extra space to haul her medical equipment. She has passed on now, but I still have really enjoyed the smooth ride, cargo room, and in general just a good cun car to drive. Has good pick up as well as being able to manuver in and out of traffic easily. As a single woman, it has is a great deal. It gives me as much freedom to work with as any mid sized truck, but still the comfort of a car. I'd buy another one in a heart beat, especially if the gas mileage could be better. That is my only complaint! With gas prices at $4 a gallon, we need them to make us a good car with good gas mileage. Buy one of these, you won't be sorry....read morehide

I've had my Sport 4x2 for about a week. I traded in a PT Cruiser convertible so of course I had to get one with the "Sky Slider" roof. That is one COOL option! The gas milage is decent, but you don't get this kind of vehicle if you're expecting 30mpg. Rides nice and smooth and it feels big and solid. I was surprised how different it looks compared to the 07 Liberty. It's bigger and just looks beefier. It's also very roomy inside and the seats are very comfortable. It's nice to go to Sams Club and be able to load up! Also, with all the windows there is excellent visibility all around. I just bought my Jeep Liberty last week. I have previously owned an Xterra, and then Fj Cruiser in which I traded in for my Liberty. I am so much more comfortable. The Liberty is a less tanky vehicle. I may not have as much of a power feeling, but I feel safe and still have the pick up I need to get going really fast. I LOVE my moonroof!! That was the final selling point on this suv. The soundsystem is a God send for us stressed out folks. The side curtain airbags and having a 4 door again is pleasently a relief. Never get suicide doors with children. The white Liberty is very luxurious looking yet still has that sporty look when your in the mood for it! I love it....read morehide

I definately would buy another one for the price and comfort. Mileage is decent when traveling in or out of the city.The increased space that you gain with the 2008 really makes this a great vehicle for traveling with family or friends.
