Nice ride, but Lexus could improve

by Bob from California (6/30/08)
Pros:Great ride. Very comfortable.
Cons:Interior leather and exterior paint wear very poorly. Lots of rattles. Bluetooth buzzes.

Bluetooth on this car is not up to the prior RX standards. People on the other end of calls get loud buzzing noise, making it very difficult to use the bluetooth for phonecalls. Common problem among these cars. Exterior and interior don't wear well. Ride, however, is great.

Great mpg and Great SUV

by Sue from Douglas GA (6/24/08)
Pros:Good fuel economy, comfort and handling
Cons:can't think of any

I get 24 to 26 miles to a gallon on the highway and 18 in the city. I don't think I can compare this SUV with others in this size catagory. Most small SUV's don't do as well as the RX350. We have had four RX SUV's in the past 8 years and haven't looked back at anything else and honestly don't intend to. So to the nay sayers you most likely will have a negative comment about anything you drive. Almost everyone that I know who owns a Lexus RX won't change no matter what the other car makers throw our way. Show me a SUV in the RX size that gets the gas milage the RX350 does.

Nice SUV

by Mike from Buford Georgia (6/24/08)

I have a 2008 RX330. It has 17000 miles on it and the only compalint is the tire sensor is very sensitive. If you inflate the tires right it fixes itself. I had a RX350 and this one has much more power and gets around 15% better mileage that the 330. The actual mileage is over 26mpg overall. I live outside the city, but travel there frequently. This is the best handling vehicle that I have ever owned. It is a delight to drive.

Lexus Quality (or lack thereof)

by Mark (6/07/08)
Pros:Very nice car with a lot of features, good power
Cons:Reliability and rattles...

Had a loud dash rattle after about 200 miles, had to have dash removed and repaired under warranty, engine started leaking oil badly at 4800 miles, engine had to be removed and timing cover re-sealed, transmission had complete failure at 14,600 miles, would not even move the car. I understand that the engine and transmissions are both new designs, but reliability seems to be an issue. Luckily, these repairs were covered under warranty, though from what I have heard these problems are actually fairly common to these cars. I want my RX330 back! It just had a rattle in the dash, no other problems with it in 46,000 miles, never left me stranded, unlike the RX350.

Great SUV

by Charlie from Dayton Ohio (4/18/08)
Pros:Great Ride, good fuel economy, nice interior
Cons:None

Bought this car about 8 weeks ago for my wife. Traded a 2002 Toyota Highlander Limited AWD. Didn't like the new 2008 Highlander but love the new RX350. Gets great gas mileage on the highway- 31MPG. Just the right size SUV for two or up to 4 people. Much better ride than the Highlander and interior is much nicer. Not much difference in price. Style may have been around for a number of years but still one of the best looking SUV's on the road.

awesome!

by Laney from westpalm beach florida (4/03/08)
Pros:good fuel economy, sleek look, great features
Cons:wish it was just a little bit larger for inside cabin room

Love the car have had it for 6 months now. Its very comfortable. The only thing I would ever change is just a little more room inside. That would make this car perfect.

My Lexus....My Lifesaver

by Joy from St. louis MO (3/27/08)
Pros:Great on Fuel
Cons:Awesome Ride

This is a very comfortable ride. Easy to handle and it almost drives itself. I inside is very spacious. It's safe when you alone and want to unlock the door it only unlock the driver door. Once a stange guy came up on the other side to while I was getting in and the door was lock. I watch him as he remove his hand from the handle, I immediately pulled off. If all the door unlock at once I don't know if I would be writing this review.

An Average SUV

by Mike from Solon, Oh (3/25/08)
Pros:Good fuel economy, nice interior, roomy
Cons:Ride is too comfortbale - does not feel the road and hence, feel monotonous in long drive

A good SUV. My experience was not that great though. Two tires blew out the same time - called Lexus and they told me they do not warrantly tires..I need to contact Micheline. I contacted Michelin and they told me to contact my insurance and take my tires to their dealer. I went in circles and finally gave up. Overall, the interior is great, rides well and very comfortable.

great vehicle

by Lisa from New Jersey (2/20/08)
Pros:smooth ride, fun to drive, luxury feel
Cons:none so far

tranded in an '05 Murano for a '08 RX350. I loved my Murano, but the Lexus far surpasses in looks, quality, and performance. I wish Lexus would include a cargo tray, cargo net, and mudguards as standard features. Mudguards from a dealer costs $122 with a labor charge of $158 attached to it. That's just crazy!!!

Great car, fit and finish A+ but somewhat outdated

by riovalrio from Valley Village, CA (2/08/08)
Pros:Spacious interior, comfortable for driver, high tech goodies, solid feel
Cons:Lacks the latest high tech goodies, style is somewhat outdated.

This is my 3rd RX. I bought the very first generation RX in 1999 but had a lot of problems so I sold it after 2 years. I traded it in for an ES. The ES was a great car but terrrible for my back. Since I suffer from chronic back pain, it was difficult to get in and out of. I traded the ES for a RX 400h hybrid. The gas mileage was not that great for a hybrid 18/city and 24/hwy. I traded that one in for a Honda CRV but really missed the luxury. So now, back to the 2008 RX350. I've had it now for about a month. It really is an amazing car. Drives extremely well on freeways. Really hugs the road and doesn't sway like the ES did. (I thought it was me but now realize it was characteristic of the ES) Gas mileage is great for an SUV. I've been averaging 19/city and 25/hwy. The only thing I don't like about the new RX is that it's pretty much outdated. I'm sure the new ones will have all the goodies that I like. I miss the push button start, keyless entry, power folding mirrors and bumper sensors. I recently drove the new Infiniti EX35 and it was loaded with all those great features and more but it was not a comfortable car. Very tight inside, no rear seat legroom and the suspension was a bit too sporty for me. I love my RX but am anxious to see what the new ones will have. Dealers know that this version of RX is about over and are anxious to unload. I got mine fully loaded with NAV for $38,800 OTD. Glendale Lexus. Sticker/MSRP was $44,371 but I did visit 3 Lexus dealers to get the best deal possible. That is truly the key.
