I was really quite surprised to read all the negative reviews for the RX-350. Maybe these people never owned an SUV before and were expecting a miracle. I’ve owned SUV’s since 1978 and this car is by far the nicest SUV I’ve owned yet. The mileage is quite good at 22 highway and 18+ city (If you want the mileage of a Prias, get a Prias), the ride is great, power is more then adequate for everyday driving (if you have a need for speed get a Ferrari), the interior is very nice, the ride is very comfortable and the service from Lexus is head and shoulders above any American SUV I’ve owned in the past.
My only negative comment is that the car is really somewhat of a ‘girley’ car but having said that, I would recommend this car to anyone.

Pros

The RX 400h (Hybrid) has the same body and interior with better gas milage than the RX 300 or RX 350

The RX 400h is a bit bouncy. They should lower it 2 inches and use a Tundra suspension for the 400h

If you're going to look at the RX 300 or RX 350 you might as well look at the RX 400h (Hybrid). The gas mileage is better and it's essentially the same in most all other respects except the breaks (which are larger). For 2009 the are making the Lexus wood style interior available in the 400h. The only suggestion I would have is that they consider using higher quality glass for the 400h windshield; for some reason it is difficult to clean (smears a lot) and it could use some tinting to insulate from heat. If you're ordering a vehicle have them tint the front and driver/passenger side front windows at least 25% and go with the smoke tint rather than brown....read morehide

Does not have smart access key, push start botton like the ES350, blue tooth.

I purchased a certified pre-owned 08 RX 350 with 16,000 miles wich saved me about 5,000 off the price of a brand new one.
I had an 05 Nissan Pathfinder LE and the battery started with some problems. I traded it in for an 08 RX 350. I'm originally stationed in Texas and was in School for a few months in Souht Carolina. This is the location that I purchased the RX 350. The RX drives so smooth and the handling is excellent. the leather seats were alot more comfortable. My wife flew down for my graduation and we drove back 1,311 miles. She loved the way it handled with the cruise set at 75/h. The RX almost drove it self, there was no horse power difference since bothe vehicles were at 270 each. The RX was faster since it was lighter in weight.

I do miss the heated seats. Sometimes on hills the vehicle would jerk
trying to maintain the constant speed set on cruise control....read morehide

i have a 06 rx330 and have driven it for about 2 yrs now. I would have to say that it is the worst suv experience i have ever encountered. the transmision keeps slipping, seats are very uncomfortable for long drives, and most importantly the handling on rainy surfaces are beyond explainable. It feels like the car is on ice.

Interior leather and exterior paint wear very poorly. Lots of rattles. Bluetooth buzzes.

Bluetooth on this car is not up to the prior RX standards. People on the other end of calls get loud buzzing noise, making it very difficult to use the bluetooth for phonecalls. Common problem among these cars. Exterior and interior don't wear well. Ride, however, is great.

I get 24 to 26 miles to a gallon on the highway and 18 in the city. I don't think I can compare this SUV with others in this size catagory. Most small SUV's don't do as well as the RX350. We have had four RX SUV's in the past 8 years and haven't looked back at anything else and honestly don't intend to. So to the nay sayers you most likely will have a negative comment about anything you drive. Almost everyone that I know who owns a Lexus RX won't change no matter what the other car makers throw our way. Show me a SUV in the RX size that gets the gas milage the RX350 does....read morehide

I have a 2008 RX330. It has 17000 miles on it and the only compalint is the tire sensor is very sensitive. If you inflate the tires right it fixes itself. I had a RX350 and this one has much more power and gets around 15% better mileage that the 330. The actual mileage is over 26mpg overall. I live outside the city, but travel there frequently. This is the best handling vehicle that I have ever owned. It is a delight to drive....read morehide

Reliability and rattles...

Had a loud dash rattle after about 200 miles, had to have dash removed and repaired under warranty, engine started leaking oil badly at 4800 miles, engine had to be removed and timing cover re-sealed, transmission had complete failure at 14,600 miles, would not even move the car. I understand that the engine and transmissions are both new designs, but reliability seems to be an issue. Luckily, these repairs were covered under warranty, though from what I have heard these problems are actually fairly common to these cars. I want my RX330 back! It just had a rattle in the dash, no other problems with it in 46,000 miles, never left me stranded, unlike the RX350....read morehide

Bought this car about 8 weeks ago for my wife. Traded a 2002 Toyota Highlander Limited AWD. Didn't like the new 2008 Highlander but love the new RX350. Gets great gas mileage on the highway- 31MPG. Just the right size SUV for two or up to 4 people. Much better ride than the Highlander and interior is much nicer. Not much difference in price. Style may have been around for a number of years but still one of the best looking SUV's on the road....read morehide

Love the car have had it for 6 months now. Its very comfortable. The only thing I would ever change is just a little more room inside. That would make this car perfect.
