I love my ML63, but the fuel economy that certain users claim of being 15 MPG + is a complete lie. Even when driving your most economical, the car will not do more than 15 mpg and if that unless you're driving at 20 miles per hour. The average you're probably going to see is around 13.5 mpg. The c63 will average at 15.4 mg simply due to less HP.
Ignore the high MPG reviews, those are either people in denial or dealers trying to push the car....read morehide

My new ML63 really & honestly has the quality feel, fit and finish that Mercedes has been famous for (but lacked from about 2000-2005/2006). This car is so solid, strong and "over-built", and feels just how a Mercedes should.
The engine is (obviously:) strong, yet the 500+ hp is very manageable, and never feels "too strong" or too much. It is equally great at 80+ mph on the highway, or picking up groceries in town.
The 7 Speed transmission is one of the best features. It Always!! knows what gear to be in, and Always!! shifts flawlessly, crisp, yet silkly smooth and quiet.
The exhaust note is pure music...deep, throaty and aggressive. But, inside the cabin it is never obtrusive...but you can hear how great it sounds.
The climate controls are perfectly designed, easy to use and work amazingly perfect. Having a separate rear system ensures that the interior cabin is evenly and flawlessy cooled/heated. Heated and cooled seats are really a great luxury, and work really well.
The Audio system (radio, CD, Satellite and iPod) is excellent. Crisp, clear and strong. All functions are easily accessed thru the main command system, and can also be accessed via the steering wheel.
Keyless Go is one of the must have options. It is awesome never fumbling to find the key fob to lock/unlock the car, or open the rear hatch. Really nice just stepping into the car, and pushing a button to start or stop the engine. The automatic open/close feature on the rear hatch is so great too, especially if your hands are full, or it's raining.
Surprisingly, the MPG isn't that bad for a 500+ hp SUV. I'm averaging about 15-16mpg (combined city/highway). Many times at 65-70mph, I will get a constant 17/18 mpg on the highway. Heavy stop & go city driving will give me 13-15mpg. Which compared to the new BMW X5 4.8i and the Range Rover, is actually awesome.
If you have about $90-95,000 to spend on the ultimate SUV, this is the car. There is no comparison to the electonically handicapped Range Rover or BMW X5, or the basic and spartan feeling Porsche Cayenne. The ML63 feels like a 4x4 S-Class. No regrets, and probably one of the best Mercedes-Benz vehicles I have ever owned or driven....read morehide

We have a CLS550 so when it came time to trade in the Hummer there was no question what brand of vehicle we would get. While I intended on purchasing a new GL550 or a ML550, the minute I drove the ML63 AMG I was hooked. It has the best of both worlds! Sports car power and handling with the comfort and safety of a luxury mid sized SUV. The ML63 can handle a nice curvy road without feeling like you'll lose control, thanks of course to MBs suspension. And with this amount of horsepower you can step on the gas and get down the road in a hurry!
The AMG package was pricey but so worth it. Of course, any ML would be a fine choice if you're looking for a top notch SUV. I highly recommend them!...read morehide

This is one beautiful vehicle and you won't see many around. I haven't seen another one in Atlanta on the road in the four months since I swapped it for my E60 M5. After owning a RR, two X5's and recently an SL55, I can say this is strong to very strong...and it's got the seen speed auto box in it.
You have to like driving an SUV and sitting up high, but it has every option you can buy...and four wheel drive and it handles great. The Wheels and the detail of the design are lovely. As far as 6.3 AMG's go, this is a bargain at $86K base price. Having said that, I imagine the ML550 with the big wheels at $20 less is nearly as good, but it's not the hot piece that the 6.3 is.
You pays your money and you takes your choice!!!...read morehide

The Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG is one of the most powerful SUVs on the planet (along with the Porsche Cayenne Turb). I mean no other SUV has over 500 hp, a shocking 0-60, and don't forget the veer famous luxury Mercedes-Benz put into it.
Where I live, I see a LOT of these SUVS. The poeple think this is a great car to get around the city. I htink so too.
But very fine car has it's doubts. I wouldn't use this car for towing, or storage. And you might have to give up your apartment room for this car.
If you can handle weak towing, bad storage, and giving up a lot from your wallet, you should get this car....read morehide

Has a better fit and finish than the 2008 Cayenne Turbo and will smoke the 2007 Cayenne Turbo S and the 2008 Cayenne Turbo in 0-60 mph. It is limited electronically to 155 mph and the Cayenne Turbo can do 170 mph but I haven't gotten my ML63 AMG over 140 mph, if I did I probably be locked up for years. A similarly equipped Cayenne Turbo will set you back 24 thousand dollars more (94,000 versus 118,000) before taxes and license! When Mercedes designed this SUV they only had ONE other SUV (Porsche Cayenne Turbo) in mind....read morehide
