I have a 2003 with 50K miles and now I am afraid to drive it because everything is breaking. For as nice as it looks, I wouldn't buy it again if I new I was gloing to put this many miles on it. Be cautious

needs electronic adjusting seats as you get out or into the car, currently stays in same position, not like the S class sedan.

Overall a great luxury sports/touring car. Due to its active suspension (ABC) it can cruise like a S-class but it stiffens up for almost no lean in the fun twistees and corners-Amazing! The transmission senses when you need punch and adjusts to your driving style by the second-a great feature since your driving reactions can be so dynamic in today's crazy traffic. You can adjust the way the car handles from comfort to sport (including ride height) with a push of a button. The 7 speed auto-transmission can also be changed from comfort to sport for that all-out sports car performance. Great V8 engine-very smooth but has incredible low range torque and all the power you might want. Speaking of button-pushing that all you do to get the hard-top lowered or raised in about 16 seconds. Very effective wind management with the top down.The articulating rear window rotates to snug up to the roof maintaining over 7 cu/ft of storage in the trunk. The trunk is actually pretty large with the top up with over 10 cu/ft. That doesn't include the 6 to 7 cu/ft storage area behind the seats. My car has adaptive cruise control (Distronic), it is extremely effective in most freeway situations- it backs off or speeds up to my selected speed before I even think about it. Can't/shouldn't use it in the corners. The car is laden with great features and so far they ALL work. It is expensive but I was surprised by the huge discount the dealer gave me. It’s worth it and it continues to exceed my expectations in all performance areas and most convenience areas. Its also has classic yet modern looks in the Mercedes tradition-even inside it feels sporty yet classic-much different than the other Mercedes class cars (C,E and S, etc). If you like the German SL design of any year you will never tire of its classic looks, similar to the best Jaguar/Ferrari/Aston Martin designs which continue to remain classic....read morehide

It will be considered rouph and un comfortable if its used as an everyday car.
the AMG version are even less comfort because it has harder suspension system.
from the inside it has the best comfortalbe and entertainment features.
