2008 Mercury Sable Base

We got our Sable in late April and have logged 12,000 miles. We are greatly pleased with our purchase and my wife and I both feel this is the best car overall we have owned. Would highly recommend the Sable to anyone looking for a roomy, smooth riding set of wheels.

fuel economy could be better, build quality spotty.

I've had my Sable for 7 months. After a few thousand miles car developed a noise in front suspension that's very annoying. Noise is most pronounced when crossing speed bumps, dips or ridges in pavement, turning right or left, going up or down hill. Any condition that works the front suspension produces this noise which is growing worse and louder with time and use. Don't know if this is a safety issue....read morehide

I bought mine this past weekend. I took it out for a long drive and found the car to be very comfertable and quite. Powerful engine and all the creature comforts are standard on base model. Mine came with the the interior convenience package, security package, sirius radio, reverse sensing system. The car handles beautifully for a large car. Two weeks old! Drove from Dallas to Houston and back. Very nice and stable drive due to weight, but with a very fuel efficient and powerful 262 HP engine! Feels safe and solidly built car. I baught my 2008 Sable almost 2 months ago and love it! Mercury has really outdone themselves on this wonderful vehicle. I baught a base model with some options and find it very nice. The ride is good, the fuel economy is good and its a very stylish car inside and out. It is really a pleasure to drive this car and its quite a head turner as well. I baught the first one in my city. From the moment I saw it I loved it and after test driving it and other vehicles it was clear that the Mercury Sable was the best buy. I can not say enough about this car and how good it is. You have to go drive one for yourself and see. That is the best way and all the research you'll need before seeing for yourself that it truely is a great buy. Anyone who buys this car is making a great choice. I had an older Mercury Sable in the past and it didn't run very well, but the new one is so different and a lot better. It looks great, runs wonderfully, and I haven't had any problems with it. I give it two thumbs up!
