Best car in its class better than Toyota or Honda!

by Matt (10/13/08)
Pros:MIVEC=Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control system=Power + Economy!
Cons:Only Mitsubishi has this patent!

If you are looking for performance and economy at the same breath, the Mitsubishi cars with MIVEC are the cars for you. It comes with power of racing cams (camshafts) for performance and standard cams for regular driving=economy without switching camshafts for city driving or for racing with the press of the gas pedal. In other words, you got both worlds at your feet, so to speak, without additional hassle of getting a mechanic to do it for you.

That's something innovative that Mitsubishi gives you and something to think about!!!

Want Fast? Affordable? Stylish? You Want Eclipse!

by Cassandra L. from McDowell County, West Va. (10/09/08)
Pros:"Great gas mlg, great wrnty, spacious front seats&trunk, great stock stereo sys, beautiful & fast!
Cons:There r blind spots on the left&right rear but if you're a good driver, great view from side mirrors!

This car is the best car I think I have ever driven! I love the way it will take the curves and the stylish look of the car itself. I drive 40 miles to work everyday in the West Va. mountains and I fill up for gas every week and a half, basically every 9 days. The slap shft is a nice touch to the car as well as the booming stereo system! The front seats have so much room in them even though the back seats dont as most sports cars. And the truck is bigger than most cars for example it is bigger than a Cavaliers trunk I know for a fact from experience. I knew the first time I saw mine... I had to have it!

My Dream Car

by Cheryl from Townsend, MA (10/08/08)
Pros:Looks Great, Economic, Lots of Zip, Fun to Drive
Cons:Blind Spot, Street Noise, Nothing Horrible

I absolutely love my 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse. I bought it in Sunset Pearlescent, which looks beautiful. The back seat is not really roomy, but with a sports car, that is to be expected. You do have to be very careful of the blind spot, and you can hear a bit of street noise, but everything else about the car completely makes up for those two little issues. It is very zippy, takes corners great, has great pickup when you need it, and is overall the most fun car I have ever driven. I get a lot of compliments on the car. The standard stereo package is very nice too. I am very happy I bought this car. My only negative statement is about Mitsubishi credit. I haven't had to send a check in the mail for years until I bought my Mitsubishi. I qualified for 0% financing, so it didn't make sense for me to go somewhere else for financing, but it is a huge inconvenience to go back to the days where you have to write a check for a car payment.

Yes, this one is mine

by RR from Glendale, CA (9/30/08)
Pros:Just look at it! Listen to it.
Cons:Rear blind spot, forward view, turning circle

After driving Euro cars for years, I've chosen to go Japanese (well, "somewhat" Japanese). I got an 08 Lancer last year but I figured I have no need for for doors so I traded that for an 08 Eclipse SE 4-banger. With the rebates I got--heck, not bad at all. Yah, somewhat slow from zero, but then I'll choose a better mpg and regular unleaded over the v6 version. When at speed, it's pretty good.I got the auto tranny. If you want more responsiveness, switch to sportronic mode--you'll find enough grunt in 3rd gear.

It's sporty enough but definitely not a sports car, but I ain't complaining. Yah, there's some cons here and there, but then again, had they been a big deal for me, then I wouldn't have gotten this car.

If you can find an SE--go for it as the options it has are worth every penny. Next agenda: tint, drop at least an inch, a cold air intake, and a front tower brace--it's perfect.

The SE in black on black looks great and the exhaust note is just right. I live in an area where European cars are a plenty...that only makes my Eclipse stand out a lot more. I like that.

For the price yo ucan nto beat it!!!!!!!!!!!

by Ray from Leawood, KS (8/25/08)
Pros:It takes curves well and is a nice looking car
Cons:Blind spot as anyone knows who owns one

I read reviews about the handling of this car and get confused I guess they individuals do not know how to drive a car? I take curves at 60 at 70 miles an hr and have no problem. Aftar all, a sports car is designed for that. People talk about the back seat and no space, it at least has a back seat and have had people back there. Come one poeple, it'a a psorts car no vette or Honda's spots car has a back seat at all. And lets face facts, for the warrant and the car, you can not beat the price!
I am proberly one of the first to own this car, I bought it in Sept of 2006 and is a 2007 GS Coupe with the Burgundy color not red!
And get constant compliments on it.

You drive it, you'll buy it.

by EclipseSince94 from Brunswick, New Jersey (8/16/08)
Pros:Eye-catching, sporty, drivers car, good price.
Cons:Mileage could be better, but it's a sports car.

This is a Drivers car and not a car to just drive. The options are plenty depending on your wallet size. This is a car to drive you and your spouse/date so no need to worry about the small back seats. Good handling with decent power (I have the 4 cylinder). I love this car. Test drive it and learn that you can fall in love again.

Eclipse gives more overall to their customers!

by Ryan from CA (7/23/08)
Pros:Looks good, sporty, good MPG 20 city/27 highway, tight handling, excellent warranty.
Cons:None

I have been an Eclipse owner for the past 10 years and its been an improvement in every generation of this model. The Eclipse has given the owners what they clamor for that is; style, performance, handling, ride, interior amenities and most of all its excellent 10 years/100,000 mile power train warranty. Who nowadays will care more to their customers than Mitsubishi!

David450

by David A. Anderson from Verona, PA (7/03/08)
Pros:Beautiful to look at, fun to drive. Quiet and zippy 4-cylinder 162-hp engine, smooth clutch
Cons:Little less gas mileage than my 2003 eclipse, but a lot more fun to drive.

I just traded my 2003 GS for this 2008 GS, 5-speed manual. I love this car and am a loyal Mitsubishi customer.
