AWESOME SUV!!! THE BEST OUT THERE!!!!

by Tammy from Summerville, SC (8/23/08)
Pros:Room, comfortable, love its an SE and have leather and all the extras of an LE
Cons:No complaints!!

I love my 08 Armada. This is my third one. I get a new one every year and will continue to do so. I had an Expedition and would never drive another one. Gas mileage is great for me. No problems!! My family only drives Nissan and will always be that way.

2008 LE 4x4 w/ pref and tow package - 2k update

by G3 from Marlyand (8/11/08)
Pros:Handling, Value, Features, flexibility
Cons:Suspension, fuel economy,

I purchased an 08 LE 4x4 4wd w/ Pref and Tow package in July at significantly below invoice. This explains the value part or my pros. The features are comparable (if not identifiable) to the Infiniti QX56 and it handles and accelerates well (especially for a big truck based vehicle). The vehicle is great for a highway traveler, as the ride is quite comfortable. The cons are what I expected and recognized: poor fuel economy (part of the large vehicle and powerful engine) and suspension on rough roads. Wanted a larger vehicle for regular road trips that could be a daily driver for family and this was an exceptional value for a well equipped high end large SUV. No fit and finish issues on the vehicle, and at only 2k miles - only issue I have had is the A/C cutting off once (though for a vehicle this new, would not expect any issues at this point).

torque lover

by talahib from New York (7/23/08)
Pros:powerful engine thrust and acceleration.great handling and suspension, nice interior
Cons:thirsty--but what will you expect for a V8 with a torque like this?

we traded our 2007 murano for this truck (2008 Armada LE all packages incuded) and so far it is very reliable and rock solid in terms of performance.the suspension and handling is great, feels like i was driving a murano.instrumentations nd packages are worth to have, the thrust and acceleration is awesome. no problems on this truck yet.just put a K&N filter right after we bought the truck.before break-in i used to get 11mpg but now with 7000 on it i'm getting 14mpg cty/19.5 highway.its a good trade off on my part between fuel economy versus space and power.this family cruiser is tailor-made for us!

Big thirty stiff SUV

by Paul of Norwell from Norwell (7/11/08)
Pros:decent ride, and not bad looking
Cons:extremely poor fuel economy, poor fit and finish, brake rotors warp easily

I was initially attrated to this vehicle because of its looks and thought Nissan quality would be good. after diving on long trips the seats become so uncomfortabel I have to stop and walk around, also the ride of the truck just is to stiff for longer rides ( 1 1/2 hours plus).
The fuel economy is going to be poor in any large SUV but they only offer 1 large engine the 5.4 L, it would be nice to offer a smaller V-8 also.

Big safe SUV

by Rachael from Lexington, KY (6/14/08)
Pros:Great cargo space, feels safe and solid, attractive appearance, excellent acceleration
Cons:Gas mileage isn't great but better than our old Suburban

Previously drove a Suburban. We don't miss the extra space and we love the comfort of the Armada. The technology package continues to impress us. Gas mileage is not great, but this is a huge SUV! We get anywhere from 12-16 mpg. I like the fact that it feels solid and safe on long trips. Not difficult to park and accelerates well on the highway. Dealer (Glenn) support is outstanding.

Awesome family SUV!

by Gary Stuart from Kearny,Az (5/21/08)
Pros:Interior space, plenty of room, comfort on long drives and I'm averaging 19-22 miles per gallon.
Cons:Don't have any right now.

I bought this SUV as our family vehicle. My wife loves it and so do the kids. They love the comfort and all the room on long trips. I get great gas mileage for such a big truck. Most of our driving is highway. We hope to have many happy trips in our Armada, way to go Nissan.

BIG SUV, BIG Mistake

by Steven Paul Miller from Washington TWS (5/21/08)
Pros:power, room, style, good dealers across the US
Cons:wow is all I can say about the gas this thing needs, some problems, warranty issues

Let me get to the point- this is the worst vehicle I have ever owned. I traded in a 2003 Expedition for this and I feel I made big mistake. First my old Ford Expedition got much better gas MPG. I barely get 10 MPG city. My 12 on the highway. Next it has been repaired 7 times in 7 months for all sorts of things. The worst has to be the brake rotors which are warpping. On a 1 to 10 this gets a 2. Avoid this at all costs. Looking to get a Ford Expedition again.

08 Armada SE After Market Towing Hitch Issue

by Okc Armada Owner from Oklahoma City, Ok (5/05/08)
Pros:XM radio, styling, fold flat seats, dash, seats, ....

The 08 Armada SE 4x2 does did not come with towing package standard. But I had put hitches on other vehicles so that was not going to be a problem. After I bought my Armada, my trailer hitch place advised I needed a special wiring harness, and for some reason they could not connect the lights on the Armada like the do for most other vehicles. He also advised "it is expensive, maybe $200?" I ask the dealer about wiring, and the parts dept said no problem, it is pre-wired and coiled up in the corner of the bumper, just hard to find. The parts guy couldn't find it so he had two tech's from the service dept come out to look at my vehicle, they too said, it is the edge of the bumper. After all three crawled around and couldn

Do you research first. My review.

by Charles M from Cape May NJ (4/28/08)
Pros:Power to spare. Roomy inside.
Cons:Fuel economy 11.3 MPG. Reliability. Depreciation Rates. Cheaply made interior. Turns like a brick.

First off let me give everyone considering this SUV a word of advice- this is a large SUV and unless you are pulling a boat or something else very heavy, this is not the vehicle for you.

That being said I expected fuel economy to hover in the low teens since this is a large and heavy SUV, but this SUV barely gets 11 miles to a gallon, and that is without towing! When I tow my 15'er I get 6-7 MPG city and 9-10 MPG highway. I know that a 18 Wheeler tractortrailer which pulls 40,000 LBS gets about the same MPG! That is just plain sad. I am definitely calling Green Peace on Nissan for offering sich a PIG. My 2003 Chevy Suburban with over 110k miles still gets 17-18 MPG average and 14-15 when I pull a trailer.

Reliability. Nissan has really let me down. They have let their quality slip and I have contacted Nissan NA and also a consumer affairs complaint office. This vehicle is unacceptable. However, despite all of the problems I have had, IT IS NOT A LEMON! Why? Because for it to be a "Lemon" it must have the same unresolved problem 3 times. So far it has been something else- electrical, tranmission, shifter controls, rear suspension mounts, brakes rotors, A/C compressor, serpentine belt, fuel tank (replaced due to leak and faulty sensor), ABS control unit, power windows, spark sensor/anti knock sensor, powersteering leak/noise. There is just one thing after another. I am sorry but I thought Nissan made good cars as I have owned a 1996 Nissan Maxima and it had over 200k miles with no problems and this is my second Nissan product and a total disastor. The interior plastics are very cheap. When or if you test drive this beast, take a look at the interior plastics and then test drive a Chevy Tahoe or Ford Expedition or Toyota Sequoia. The leather is worn. The center console is loose and worn. Buttons are loose. The plastic is so cheap. This must be made in China...

Also, I am already looking to sell it but resale is very poor for this model. I have lost 40% of its value in just over 1 years time. Its almost like a Hyundai!

In the end I give this SUV an F for failure. If it did not have so many problems I would give it a C-. This is the worst SUV on the market. Good luck and do your research! Buyer Beware!

Great Full Size SUV

by Kevin from Raeford, NC (4/13/08)
Pros:Technology, Room, Comfort, Features
Cons:Fuel Economy (FULL SIZE SUV)

A great traveling vehicle, with certain features of course. Lots of space everyone and their belongings. Compared to other full size SUVs, the Armada offers so much more for less. The Armada
