Just leased this car, for $330 month, well worth the investment. People constantly stoping and looking at the car, even while driving. The car handles great, and good breaking.
Combination of Tiptronic transmission (6 spd manual) as well as Automatic transmision makes it a FUN car to drive on the highway. Sunroof is a must and the headlights HID give it a even meaner look.
Would recommend this car to anyone who's looking to buy a Maxima....read morehide

I am a 20 yr. Auto Mechanic. I have worked on almost everything, by far Nissan created the best, sporty, affordable mid-size sedan known to the civilized world. Key word, AFFORDABLE. Yeah, Mercedes, BMW, Lexus, Rolls Royce, Lincoln, Acura, even Infiniti all come to mind when rating for my choice as best overall. I have owned 4 generations of Maximas and have never been dissapointed. The one I have now, 2008 Silver SE, Charcoal Leather. Put it to you like this, forget the color!!!!!!!!! Everything about this vehicle will make you fall in love from first test drive. Clean smooth body lines that make you know its built for some speed. Dual tipped, Dual exhaust..........enough said. The engine compartment is still cramped, but I never met a Maxima of any generation that was not. Perfect touring sedan for the ones who love to get on the road and drive. I have owned mine for only 5 days and I already can see this car is learning who I am. The car has a mind of it's own.......really. The engine and transmission are a sweet combination for the ones who love raw, uninhibited power. It may scare you at first if your not prepared for some torque steer because it will pull if throttled hard. Overall I cannot say enough. Nissan created a "Michaelangelo" when building this vehicle. There are only one of a kind. I am still talking because I can only say-----Go to your local Nissan dealer, you will not be dissapointed....read morehide

Great interior room. Smooth ride. While standing still I was rear-ended and took a pretty good smack. I was expecting to get out and see the rear bumper destroyed and falling off. The damage was practically inperceivable. It beats by buddy's BMW 3 series. (2005) It has quicker acceration, more interrior room, bigger wheel base, and $10,000 cheaper....read morehide

It will scat and we can get out of passing lanes and enter main roads with out fuss. Navagation a pure wonder as it got us on route at night in Kan City after a missed turn. Repeat Nissan Maxima buyer having had 97 for ten years. Wayzeta, MN. Dealership service has been good. Sales department tough. Wife Loves this car, it is all she would ever dream for. Braking and starting on winter roads no problem. Safety Plus. Tranmission working with valve control for milage, good match up.
You got a winner for another 10 Years if need be.for us....read morehide

Not a better VALUE around. Why would anyone Spend thousands more for the Infinity, which doesn't look as good, when the Maxima has out done its self. Guess the 'Wanta be's' need the prestigue. I would strongly recommend the Maxima to anyone. I have a 2004 and have had -O- Problems. It is a head turner for sure but could care less about that. I just love the automoble. FAR MORE than any of the 'Big Three' can show you on their lots. Body style of the Maxima will be around for a while. You don't mess with a WINNER!...read morehide

First 3 years I did not have any problems. Great car as promised. Then repairs start to pile up. Alternator on a 4th year, AC replacement on a 5th, 2 sensors on 6th and the whole exhaust ( 2 collectors ) on 7th year of a car.

Should say that SL brings smoother ride for the money I spent. My mileage was bad during first 2500 miles, 19 mpg but after 3700 miles and filling the tank with Premium fuel, the mileage rose to 27-28 mpg. Amazing ride.
If you drive the car with care, press less hard on gas, with its self-learning technology, it will feed you back with better mileage.
Performace is better, press less hard and zoooooooooom.
Value for the money, cant say as I need to wait as this is my first new car.
Welcome Maximus....read morehide

I have leased this car from 2007-2008, same car, minor differences.
What can I say I love it, also recommend the Infiniti G35 and M45 sedan.
But thats a different story. Have loved Maximas since the 3rd Gen and hopefully the 2009 Maxima at the NY International Auto Show will be a blast to drive also. Concluding this car is a winner....read morehide

Love the car! I was torn between the new Altima and the Max, but once I drove both vehicles Maxima stood out by a hude margin. This car is an excellent performer, yet offers quiet and smooth ride usually found only in luxury cars. The 3.5L + CVT combination works great. Passing someone at any speed is a breeze. There's still some tourque steer but only during very rapid acceleration. I can't really speak to its reliability for I only had the car a couple of months, but so far no issues. VERY pleasant ride, so I enjoy every minute of my 1h commute....read morehide

My Maxima has been a headache since day one. First of all I noticed an oil leak from the valve cover @5,000 miles, first oil change. I also noticed a shimmy when I stepped on the brakes and a big clank when I went over the smallest imperfection over the road. So I brought my car in for service and the dealership (Riverhead Nissan, best service) found a leaking shock strut, a leak in the valve cover gasket, and resurfaced my rotors. So I guess I will keep drivng it till it dies . What a shame Nissan is going downhill. I also have a '98 MAX and still runs like a champ @ 150k miles. My '98 is more reliable than my brand new car....read morehide
