This truck will go if you hit the throttle hard. Mine is a 2006 NISMO loaded and it just flat out hauls. I pull a heavy trailer with this and some other things and the truck never hesitates. The gas mileage is okay for a truck. I get 18mpg in city driving in the summer if I don't hammer the throttle. Styling is great but the paint chips very easily. I pressure washed this truck one time and a paint chip flew off. Had a problem with the sending unit in the fuel tank b/c the gas gauge did not work right and Nissan fixed it with no questions and no hassels. Did a lot of comparison between the Tacoma and Frontier and this truck had more power, better styling and more features for a cheaper price. Overall an excellent truck....read morehide

I LOVE my truck. I had a small Suzuki Esteem that ran like a beauty. I bought it used and had it for several years. I was pleased with it. But when I got pregnant, my husband insisted that I should have something safer to drive and more reliable. He bought me this truck and after seeing it, I wasn't about to turn it down! It's a very easy truck to handle. The inside is quite roomy, considering I have a HUGE rear-facing carseat in the back. The controls are easy to use and the style is very sleek. I can't say enough nice things about it. The only fact that bugs me is the fuel economy. I thought that it would be better for a truck this size. My husband owns a Titan and he gets about the same MPG that I do!! Overall, I wouldn't pass it up if I had the chance to do it over....read morehide

Have been getting 16.5 to 18 in city and best was 22 on highway, though mostly is 20.5-21.5 The power is much more than needed. In fact, I wish they would give option of higher speed rear end in light of today's fuel prices. I am absolutely impresses with the way it handles in wet weather. I have had Dodge, Ford and Chevrolet andthisis the best. I have a 2WD with the limited slip rear end....read morehide

I would buy this truck again today! If your in the market for a mid-sized pick-up truck make sure you check this one out. From running a daily route to towing my trailer on weekends this truck has been a joy. I have had my 2008 Nissan Frontier for one year and driven it over 23,000 miles so far I have had no mechanical issues. After looking at the Chevy (Izuzu built), the Dodge (Mitsubishi built) and the Ford (Mazda built), I came to the Frontier more features, better quality and less money. Drive them all. I would almost bet you end up with the Frontier. I see more and more of them on the road and if there was better marketing from Nissan I think you'd see more still it's almost "a best kept secret"....read morehide

2008 Nismo 4X2 Blue V-6 Auto
Second Datsun/Nissan I purchased, after the first swore never again.
Twenty-three years later I bought this one and I am happy, if it was totaled I would get another just like it. It has the bluetooth which means I have the goofy roof rack and it is in the shop now for the brakes. Had the wifes 2008 Altima 3.5SL in there right after we bought it for the same problem, Seems to be faulty ABS valves. They are good about getting it in and getting it fixed, unlike the last one I owned which turned me off to them for many years. I have everything but leather and four wheel drive but do have a locker on the rear that came from the factory. I put about twelve hundred miles a month on it and as stated before would do it again. The spray in bedliner could be a little thicker. I love the size of the tires but do worry they seem to wear a little funny....read morehide

I would buy another one. The long bed is just the right size for most people.

I am really pleased to own a Frontier. The base model had more than enough base options, more so than Toyota. Engine and tranny are super smooth, power is a plenty. Wheels look great, bed extender and spray on liner are great too. Nice chrome bumpers and look great with chrome polished. It is also very sturdy and the AC works like a champ. I have never had the RPM go over 2500, since the power is great at low end RPM. Storage bins under back seats are great and handy....read morehide

I have a 2006 frontier. Love the truck and it runs great. The problem I ran into is the gas gauge does not work. It quit working around 40,000 miles. Also got surface rust on both rear fenders around 17,000 miles. No one did anything about it. I have a friend who has a frontier with the same problem....read morehide

This is my first Nissan truck and having owned a few other manufacturers vehicles, the Nissan is by far the best truck I have ever driven. Great power from the 4.0 V-6, comfortable ride (for a pickup), good layout of the controls, just an overall great value and great truck.
Could stand to have a better turning radius but that is mostly just an inconvenience than a real problem. Love the from the factory features in the SE value package; sprayed on bedliner, aluminum wheels, ability to tow up to 6100lbs, lots of comfort for five adults. Haven't experienced the a/c on after defroster is turned off problem yet as I am in California and its still summer here so no comment on that.
Love the power of this pickup, the DOHC 4.0 puts out lots of power to pass, accelerate and get up the hills, and if you are easy on the right pedal, it can return great mpg. So far I have managed a best mpg of 23.7 (via Scangauge calculation) for a 114 mile trip, but I have seen 17 to 19 avg around town with a/c on. Love it!
I checked out a comparable Toyota, Dodge and GM products (Ford doesn't make a Crew Cab model of the Ranger) and the Nissan was a hands down winner, in features and price. Plus they build the majority of the truck in Tenn. so I like that I am contributing to US workers paychecks. My brother and dad are now talking Nissan Frontier for their next pickup purchases.
Don't waste your time on shopping the others, just go to your nearest Nissan dealer and drive the best, glad I did....read morehide
