Can't believe Nissan would design the a/c compressor to stay on after the defrost is turned off. I just returned from a trip to the dealer and they confirmed that in order to shut the compressor off after the defrost has been on, you MUST turn the truck off?????????????? even if you change the settings to vent or heat. What a waste of gas not to mention that a typical driver will not realize that the compressor is even on since the a/c light stays off while the defrost is engaged. I'm starting to smell some nasty odors from the a/c system due to all the condensate on the evaproator. I will definitely figure out a way to have control of the compressor even if it means intsalling a manual cutout switch under the dash....read morehide

I was impressed enough to buy 2 Frontiers in August 2008. Drove 1500 miles the first week in one of them. Mileage on the road was about 23mpg with the AC at full blast. Ride is almost as good as a 2006 Highlander that I own.

Just purchased an '08 Crew Cab SE 4X4. I upgraded from an 05 Frontier King Cab 2wd because I needed something better for the snowy winters here in New England and wanted more interior room. In my opinion, this is the best looking truck out there right now. It's definately a head turner. I got the SE with the Value Truck Package, so it's got the bed extender, sliding utili-track system, sprayed-on bedliner, power windows, door locks, the works. I haven't had a chance to test it's off road ability, so I can't comment on that, but on the road, the Frontier drives like a car. It's a very smooth ride with minimal road noise, not what you would expect from a truck. And the power is there when you need it, like merging onto a highway or passing another vehicle. This thing can tow up to 6100lbs. too. The interior is spacious enough. You can seat 5 adults comfortably, something that was definately not possible with the King Cab. My primary use for the truck is commuting back and forth to work, but it's nice to know that the Frontier can go off-road if need be, as well as hauling some toys to play with.
Compare the Frontier to the Tacoma and you'll see that you get more of a value for less money....read morehide

Just purchased '08 LE Crew cab with leather package. really love this truck. Went on a 1000ml road trip and it rides great, very quite, car like. lots of power for passing, so-so gas milage around 22hwy. Very roomy inside and the leather is top quality, sunroof great. My brother just purchaced an '08 Tacoma, which leather was not an option. Not nearly as nice and the Frontier has more horse power than the Tacoma with both having 4.0l engines. Love the onboard computer with, mpg, average speed, distance till empty, which the Tacome does not offer. Great sounding sterio/cd player. Check the Frontier before buying a Tacoma and its cheaper! With fuel prices Titans are cheaper than this model but wouldnt fit a well in garage....read morehide

Only 3,400 miles on the odometer, but excellent so far. The SE package came standard with the bed track system installed, sprayed in bedliner, bed extender, front skid pan, floor mats, power stuff inside, etc. Not a nickel and dime type pricing plan like some of the competition (T). Great value. It is definately a truck -- some folks complain about the 'plastic' interior -- come on, its a truck and its a Nissan. As far as I'm concerned its supposed to be functional, not pretty.
Ride and power are great. Very smooth. My wife noticed immediately that it was much smoother over some rough roads we drive than her 04 Isuzu. I've had to watch as it has crept up to 80 mph on me a few times -- I don't even notice until I look at the dash.
Gas milage rating is 14/19. So far I've averaged 19 mpg with mixed highway and city driving (about 20 miles each way to work). On two seperate out-of-town trips I've logged 21+ mpg. Not bad for a 260+ Hp V6 coupled up to a 4-wheel drivetrain.
LWB version is LONG -- check the numbers, but as long as a reg cab, long bed F-150. Wish the center arm rest was bigger. Otherwise, no complaints.
Oh, yeah, Recommended by consumer reports -- enough said....read morehide

great truck w/ a smooth ride. great acceleration on highway....2 things wrong:(1)when you turn the defrost on, and then turn it back to reg. vents, you cannot turn off the a/c without turning off the vehicle. very problematic for nissan to assume that we need to have the a/c on for humidity purposes. Nissan needs to give us back that control.CAN'T STOP ON INTERSTATE JUST TO TURN OFF A/C (2) the acceleration pedal gives a signal to the brain(comp.) and it in turn controls the engine for acceleration purposes. this is very dangerous in regards to quick maneuvers and accels. have to second guess the response, and sometimes there is no response. very dangerous. computers cannot control people in all situations..."VERY DANGEROUS!!!"...read morehide
