Overall, the Grand Prix is a fantastic car. Great styling and very fun to drive. Has plenty of speed and can get away from you pretty fast. The handling is awesome. Wish Pontiac would continue to make the car for year to come but price and gas mileage might be a drawback.

I was looking to upgrade my 1997 Thunderbird and the first time I test drived the Grand Prix, I knew I wanted the car. I'm 6'5, so as soon as I sat in the car and noticed that leg room that it had in the front, I was really impressed. I really like the body style also. The gas mileage is not that bad either. I'm overall satisfied with my car. I love it....read morehide

Went in to the dealership to try out the Pontiac Vibe. Nice enough little car, but I didn't feel comfortable. Spotted the siver Grand Prix, took it for a drive and that was it. Reminded me of my old Bonneville. Previously have been driving a Caddy Deville. I like the feel of a big car but wanted to downsize a bit. This is perfect. It's like a silver bullet!Very happy with it and got a good deal on this former lease 2008. I had a budget of under 14K and was able to get the car within that frame. The interior is a tad utilitarian but you can't have everything....read morehide

I was awaiting the new G8 sedan but was dissapointed with what I saw. The gas mileage has gone down 3 MPG, the styling is too plain and foreign looking and the price is nearly 30K! Sitting right next to the G8 was this black beauty with chrome wheels, moonroof and a couple of packages that give you a trip computer, leather wheel and fold flat passenger seat (something the G8 doesn't even offer). The sticker was around 25k and I was able to buy this car for a hair over 20K! What a terrific value. The 3800 gives potent off the line power and holds it's own in cut and thrust traffic. The mileage has been around 24-25 in suburban driving and over 30 on one pure highway trip. The exterior looks so much more Pontiac than the bland BMW cookie cutter clone G8 and the chrome wheels really make it stand out. The front seats are very supportive, the instrument cluster is well laid out and I love the red lettering which is very sporty. The ride is firm but comfortable and road noise is not easily detected. The price I paid for all this was well worth it and I would recommend this car to anyone looking for a sporty mid size with some flair....read morehide

Sorry to see this and the Bonneville go. I've been driving Pontiacs for 20 years. I've got this 2008 Grand Prix and a 2006 Solstice. Sold my 2003 Bonny for the Solstice . I've got my 97 Grand Prix in the side yard with a for sale sign after 140,000 miles and 11 years.

Handsome, my GXP continues to draw positive comments, even got stopped by Texas DPS just to look at my GXP. Extremely fast, love the paddle shift feature, use it frequently. The 5.3 gives 19.8 miles per gallon on 87 octane in purely mixed around town use. I'm not thrilled with the OEM Bridgestone RE050A's - very rough even @ the recommended 30 PSI. Goodyear and Kumho offer correct sizing in all season tires. Have not needed to replace the tires. The fronts will go to around 25,000, probably. I plan to simply replace the fronts first and then when I need to replace them again, change all 4 tires.
Upgrades. K&N Series 63 intake system - I highly recommend it. And I had the exhaust system opened up to 3" all the way out by changing the mufflers and tubing over the rear suspension. It's got more "authority" than original by a large factor. The downside? The DOD is very obvious when it's going into the 4 cylinder mode - sounds sorta like a motorboat.
OnStar and hands free phone - superb. Never own another vehicle without them - period. Mine has side curtain airbags, etc. I feel very protected at all times (from other idiot drivers you understand)....read morehide

The sound system in this car is amazing, The lights, inside and out are very well placed and very cool. It even has lights shining from under the dash. It is almost dangeriously powerfull, its like driving a BMW. I average 22 plue miles with combined hwy/city driving, and over 27 mpg's on the hwy. Of course your fuel economy will vary depending on how you drive this vehicle. I absolutely love everything about this car and would highly recomend one. They are fun and very usefull with there large trunks and roomy interiors. The extra large gauges take some time to get used to, but now I cannot imagine driving a car with smaller gauges. Favorite features are the powerfull V8, the fuel management system (4 cylinder), the amazing stereo, lighting, wheels, HUD, and the seats. This car delivers a great driving experience in any driving condition. DO NOT buy this car for your teenager, or any young person under 25, its just too powerfull....read morehide

This car has a good solid feeling. I feel very secure in this car- but being a short woman 5'0 ft- it is a little tricky seeing over the steering wheel. I have had the car for about 3-4 mos. and I 'm still trying to find my sweet spot. Also, sometimes if I need to make a quick right lane change or right turn, the car makes a loud clunk sound from the front. I took it back to the dealer and they can't find out what the problem is. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Don't get me wrong, this is a great car, I get compliments wherever I go, I'll just be happier when I get that clunk noise situation resolved. I would recommend to anyone in the market for a sporty vehicle....read morehide
