Fast, Fuel efficient, "Best Buy" cat. with Style!

by Kenny Mac from Simi Valley, CA (8/24/08)
Pros:Fuel Economy 32 miles per gal. Great Sound system with iPod port. Fast!
Cons:Visability out back window is limited. No automatic headlight system.

I've owned the xD for 2 months now and it is so worth the money. I looked at the other small sporty, fuel efficient cars and nothing came close to the Zip in acceleration as this, yet maintain the 32/33 miles per gallon as stated. This should be a top 5 contender in my eyes. I'm 6 ft 3 in and I fit in the front seat with no problem. Plenty of front seat leg room for the big people! The standard transmission is 5 speeds and is geared perfectly for the need to get on a freeway to merge with traffic doing 65+ mph. You really have to test drive this car.

Great car, I love it!

by Yon Pang from Long Beach, CA (8/22/08)
Pros:Great gas saver, loaded with standard features, easy to drive/park
Cons:The trunk doesn't open without unlocking the door

I've been driving this car for over a week now and there are so many things that I love about this car. It comes with power window, great sound system which includes IPOD or MP3 hookup, audio control on the steeling, AC, and cruise control. The gas mileage is great too.

I’m only 4”11 and weight 95 lbs, in most cars I feel so short but not the XD. I feel slightly higher which allowed me to see better and make me feel safer. I could see so many things that I don’t normally see with my other vehicles. I also get a lot of compliments on the cute design of the car; this is a very cute car. This car is short enough which makes it easy to park almost everywhere.

I only have one problem with my XD, you cannot open the trunk without unlocking all the doors. This is the only drawback. But overall, this car is perfect for a petite woman like me. For once, I don’t feel small while driving this car.

After a year of ownership review

by dj4ELEVEN from Austin, Texas (8/21/08)
Pros:Great MPGs, Excellent Sound System, Loaded w Standard Features, Standard 16" tires

I've owned the xD for a year now, (20k miles so far) and I have no complaints. I average anywheres from 29 to 36 mpgs driving up and down Texas.
You also sit much higher then most vehicles, improving your sightlines and overall feel of safety.
Larger 16 inch tires compared to all other vehicles in its class.
The upgraded sound system has built-in preouts so it was very easy to add a subwoofer. And the i-pod is a great option. i didnt think it would be a big point, but it definatlely is.
Roomy enough for the roadtrips with 4 adults.
Very fun to drive.
And the no-haggle pricing made this an easy pick that i'm very happy about. No regrets.
Only complaint would be that the headlights do not stay on durning the day.

Funfunctional!

by Fernando from Miami, FL. (8/21/08)
Pros:Great fuel economy, A lot of standard features
Cons:No arm rest,

I have had my XD over a year. I was one of the first to drive one here Miami and I felt very confident. Got a lot of complements. This car is very functional and secure. It comes with side airbags standard. I traded my VW,Bettle 2000 for the XD and I do not regret it.

Seatbelt hazzard!!

by Loni from Minnesota (8/17/08)
Pros:Good fuel economy.

I would never recommend that anyone purchase a Scion vehicle. Last week, the rear seat belt tightened so tight around my daughter that it would have broken her ribs or suffocated her if my grandpa wouldn't have been around with a knife to cut the seatbelt off of her. After speaking with Scion, they don't want much to do with it other than to put a new seatbelt in. Completely unsafe!! The car wasn't even in motion and there is no seat belt relase. Scion is lucky they won't be in court for this matter. Just a few seconds or minutes later of the seatbelt tightening around her and I wouldn't have my little girl right now...

Great value for the average commuter

by Ray from California Silicon Valley (8/01/08)
Pros:Great fuel economy, lots of features for the price, easy to park.
Cons:Too much roll, no center arm rest, small cabin.

This is a very good choice if you're looking for a basic commuter car. I have the 5-speed manual and as long as I drive conservatively (i.e., stay within the speed limit, don't race to the red light) I can easily get 40 MPG. Even on the weeks when I drive it harder than usual, I still get 36 MPG, so it's a gas saver any way you look at it.

It also comes with a lot of standard features that are considered options in other cars. The fold-flat rear seats make it easy to carry bulky items, although long items are trickier because the car is so short.

Speed, power, and handling are nothing to be excited about, so if you're looking for a sporty ride, you'll find this car underwhelming. But if you're looking for an inexpensive way to get from point A to point B with some basic creature comforts, you won't be disappointed.

best buy

by Mari from tampa fl (8/01/08)
Pros:Great on gas, roomy, looks great, a lot of extras without the extra price
Cons:cup holders, and wish it had a middle console

I traded in my 2004 chevy Cavalier, and I am glad I did. I wanted a hatchback, that didn't look like a station wagon. Where ever I go, I have people ask me what kind of car this is, because they think it looks awesome. I think it drives as nice as it looks. wonderful car. I love it.

Geat car for daily driving.

by Cons from OC, CA (7/08/08)
Pros:Good fuel economy, very roomy, looks good, int and ext quality is good.
Cons:Needs a center armrest and handling can be improved. To much body roll.

Bought this car for my son and he loves it. This also includes all the power options and the stock stero is also a plus.

Overall great car.
