I leased my first Suby in January and LOVE this car, it handled it's first Wisconsin winter without a problem, I was able to drive confidently and without fear in the bad snowstorms, I have a 40 minute commute to work and I get on average 28mpg. I love the way the interior and exterior look, I love everything about this car and can't wait for the turbo diesel to come out....read morehide

The entire design is well thought out. Car has classy styling yet is still able to work. More then enough room for everyone and everything. And with the 5 spd manual tranny..and not driving it like a fool..can easily see 32-36 mpg. 24K miles trouble free. Bad weather driving is unsurpassed

I bought my first Subaru last October and drove it during a major ice storm in our area. The car handled exceptionally well on the slick roads and I felt safe driving the vehicle. Due to a car accident (while the car didn't make it, it kept me from getting seriously injured), I have purchased another Impreza (w/premium package) and still love the car. I average about 27 mpg and drive a mix of city and highway. It handles great on gravel roads and is fun to drive. I love the AWD feature.
The interior paint chips easily and the armrest is a little low, but the inside is roomy and comfortable. There are three Subaru's in my family (all different models) and they are all great vehicles....read morehide

I bought my 08 Subie WRX August 24 2007. YES 2007. It was the only one in the PGH area for a while. The looks the car got were that of "what the. . ?" I enjoy my wrx VERY much. Its fast, stylish, and the handling?. . .Tight as a drum. I tell every one to drive one before dismissing it cause of its "LOOKS"....read morehide

had it for 7 months
feels safe, drives in snow and ice as if on beach (no problems),
very comfortable interior, very easy to handle on the road, alot of perks on base (power steering, AWD, power everything).
Problems: large blind spots on sides, (changed my driving habits, have to turn my head to look behind), poor visibility out of rear windshield (will not see anything relatively low) bumped the bumper twice so far)
an average city millage of 20-22 MPG, highway 26-30; did really hurt but I knew that going in....read morehide

Overall, my wife and I think the Subaru Impreza 2.5i offers great value for the price. Good space, performance, and efficiency are all available for price that other makers would charge much more for.

This car is the perfect blend of sportiness, practicality, safety, and affordability. I chose for the most affordable base model Comfort: I gave it 5/5 because this car comes with a long list of options. For around $2000 over the base model, you can purchsae the "premium" package which includes a long list of little add ons which, in my opinion, are worth the extra $2000. Unfortunately I was on a budget and these options were not fiscally feasible at the time. Performance: HOLY SMOKES! This engine has repeatedly been proven (by many many different people and dynamometers) to be underrated by Subaru for insurance purposes. In fact, the motor itself makes closer to around 240hp while about 200hp is actually sent to the wheels. This is still far more than your average $24k car (I paid $22800 before taxes, registration etc). Non-boosted acceleration is very good and crazy good once you hit the 2500 RPM mark. Unfortunately, due to the small size of the turbo, the car runs out of steam around 5500 RPMs. This is really only a problem for those who plan on racing their car or who are seeking the ultimate sports car. The plus side is that there is a HUGE (I mean HUUUUUUUGE) aftermarket for this car and you can also buy used STi parts for cheap. There are folks in the 450hp+ range with these cars with modifications. Handling on this car can best be described as BMW-esque. It's stiff enough to feel sporty but soft enough to feel very comfortable. This is one of the areas in which the WRX has become the most civilian compared to its predecessors. I almost forgot to mention that Subaru's AWD means you can drive it all year without a worry. People who plan on tracking this car need to buy new sway bars and at the very least some stiffer springs. These cars tend to understeer at the limit from the factory....read morehide

I bought my STI in June of this year. So far it has redefined my driving experience. I live in the snowy, icy, canyon country of Colorado and have owned 6 Subaru's. All of which I have driven to 200,000 miles. This time I stepped up and bought a station wagon with the horse power the hills of Colorado demand. Plus, it holds all my family, fishing gear, ski gear, etc. and hauls a-- to boot. I'm constantly driving up the mountain roads and this car has the pick up to pass everyone on the road whenever a yellow dotted line appears. I have had to rethink my passing because when I step on the gas I don't have to plan on passing one car and then pull back in the line of traffic. I pass all five cars and the RV holding everyone up (Then I get to shift to 5th or 6th gear and let it fly!). The interior is suprisingly spacious. I had my daughter and her three friends in the back seat today and they all said they had plenty of space/leg room. I've also had four guys (200 lbs.) in the car and they agreed as we hit 90 mph under a 1/2 mile run. See you on the roads of the Colorado as I pass you!...read morehide

After 10,000 kms. in 6 weeks over a variety of roads, I would say the drive train is very good. While this is my first Subaru, I have driven many "sports" cars, SUV's, and all types of sedans, mid and high end. I am not impressed with the interior quality. Looks and feels very inferior given the price tag. If anything needs to improve it this, fit, finish, sound system all need upgrading. The transmission could be upgraded as well but performs well. The OEM Bridgestone 92's @ 205/50/17 s/b upgraded in both size, quality & performance. Would I buy another? With suitable upgrades for the same money, yes....read morehide
