This car WAS great. I was in a head on car accident at 70 miles a hour,on a highway ( not my fault ) and this car saved my life. Not only was I hit once, but TWICE as the first car bounced off me. This car is what saved me. The engine is made like a Merc. when your hit head on, it drops the engine to the ground and not into you the driver. My car engine was on the Calif. 101 hwy. I don't remember much about the accident, but 2 of my friends went to the junkyard to get my belongings out of the car, and they and the cops came back to the hospital saying I shouldn't see what was left of the car, however the drivers seat were I was sitting was like brand new still the all said. The car took the force of the other cars that hit me, and I walked away with NOTHING broken, just insides badly bruised, but alive. This car had everything in it you would need, the steering wheel has all the buttons on it to control the radio so you don't have to look down to even change stations. The gas mileage was GREAT. Not sure why they are saying it only gets 28 miles to a gal. I got about 32. One tank of gas would get me about 430 miles. I loved this car. however after the accident I was affraid to drive a small car, so I got a bigger one and now am paying the HIGH gas prices as my new car only gets 18 miles around town. I miss this car and if I can ever get over the fear of a small car again, I would buy another one just like it....read morehide

We were in the market for a safe reliable car for our daughter to drive to school and the Suzuki Reno seemed to fit our needs perfectly. We were only to find out after the purchase about the serious safty flaw that this vehicle has. The vehicle comes with a passenger side airbag disable function when there is less than 100 LBS in the passenger seat. A BRIGHT yellow warning light alerts you to thsi in the middle of the dash, right in the drivers line of sight, wrecking your night vision entirily and making operation of the vehicle after sunset very dangerous when nobody is sitting in the passenger seat. The light should have been programed to come on when the seat was carrying more than 25 pounds but less than 100 pounds to be a usefull feature and not a hazard to safe operation. If you plan on never operating this vehicle after sunset without someone in your passenger seat, then this might be the perfect car for you. All others should continue to research other vehicle choices....read morehide

I drove this car of the lot with 7 miles on it. I liked the way the Reno feels when driving...very sturdy. I test drove some cars that almost felt like a tin can on wheels. My gas economy is better than what is estimated by Suzuki. I typically get a combined (city and highway) fuel economy of 33-34 MPG. The way I drive on that tank can make it less. I should have gone for the convenience package as my Reno tends to cruise nicely at 80 MPH.
Have not had any troubles with it being sluggish...which is what I've read. Must only be the automatic, because my standard transmission accelerates just fine.
Overall, a great car and fun to drive!...read morehide

I wish I never purchased this vehicle. I purchased it January 2008 and I can count on it stalling on me, just shutting down if I stop and go too much at least once a week. It has been diagnosed with a number of reasons; bad spark plugs, valve replacement, etc. Despite each service visit, it still stops without warning. Currently in Lemon Law process to be refunded. Stay away - discontinued next year -2009. To top it all off, the dealership I purchased it from, Plymouth Meeting Suzuki has treated me horribly, verbally sending me to a dealer across town because they want nothing to do with it....read morehide

I like this car a lot! I have had no major problems with it so far. Good on gas. Has a solid feel to it while driving.

Engine needs to be refined, fuel economy must improves, especially with the rising gas price. I prefer the current design because it reminds of my 97 Civic.

I love this car. The engine is quiet and sporty. It also handles well on the road, and does fine off-road (not very wild). I love the car ans so far have no complaints.
