I bought this car almost three years ago and have driven it for more than 60K miles now. The car is great, I should have gotten a Camry years ago if I had known this car was this good. Great gas mileage even better running on premium 30+++MPG. Beware of Toyota dealerships thrying to rip you off on service ..shop around andon do big maintenance jobs..Otherwise the cars oil is changed every 5K mile w/ tiI got the standard 16"wheels..not a looker but tires ARE much cheaper the 17"s-19"s ...gotake one for a drive..you will not be dissapointed....read morehide

I bought a new 08 camry two years later the a year and a half later the transmission went out the dealer said he couldn't put a new tranny so they put a re-manufactured. The next day I got it back from the dealer had to take back was changing gears hard. Doesn't feel the same drives like an older car....read morehide

I rented this car for a few days. The ride and engine performance are OK. The seat is a little uncomfortable, but is easy to adjust. The car is very easily damaged. There are no real bumpers and the slightest bump will shatter tail lights. This car suffers from blind spots, especially on the sides and on the rear. Backing this car up is like backing up a truck....read morehide

Bought this LE new, but had a CD player that wouldn't eject and scratches on the bumper that were all fixed by the dealership a week later. No problems with CD player since. Some occasional hard downshifting to 1st gear slowing to a red light. Not sure if it's a tranny or computer problem. Haven't had it checked out yet. Otherwise a great car to drive....read morehide

drivers side visor doesn't stay high enough and I am 5'8" poor black paint tougness, squeeks rattles

ours is an 07 LE with 4 cyl. we added spoiler, sunroof, and wheels and were satisfied with these options. After 32k there have been no reliability issues but black paint scratches started the first week we had the vehicle, and after two years it looks much worse than the 99 camry we had parked in the same spot for eight years. main scratches are on doors. Console looks good but is painted and can be scratched. I am 5'8" but seem too tall for the front seating position relative to visor and ceiling.
Oil filter is a little harder to access than previous 4 cyl camry we have. With snow tires it handles great in the winter. we have a few minor cuts in the seat fabric from britax car seat. Wife hit the side of our garage with the side of the front bumper, which distorted and had a lot of paint that transfered from garage to car, but when I rubbed it with mineral spirits the damage was almost invisible, including how the bumper rebounded to its original shape.
Overall we like the car and plan to keep it for another 100000 miles but feel that Toyota should have done more homework on the 07...read morehide

Poor-man's Lexus, quiet but powerful V6, good handling, 30+ MPG with a V6!

Transmission hesitation, some cheap interior components in SE model, quality slipping?

The good: Good engine performance, great gas mileage for a V6, nice compromise between comfort and handling with SE tuned suspension. Not as tight as some pricier sport sedans, but adequate for most conditions. The 6-speed auto shifts smoothly, helps car get 30+mpg on interstate. Typical smooth, effortless Toyota engine, quiet ride.

Negative: Hesitation from transmission on acceleration. Chinsy interior components, cheap plastic inside, would expect more from an SE upgrade. Have had more nuisance maintenance issues with this Toyota than all previous ones combined. Squeaks in dash, rattling moonroof - have had them fixed. Only 20K miles and all these squeaks and rattles? Interior fit and finish doesn't match up to Toyota quality of past.

If I had to do it again I would buy the V6 Accord....read morehide

I've had ALMOST 34 MPG's before in my V6. It's amazing I drive 100+ miles a day

The seats are a bit stiff on longer rides but that is expected. Nothing to complain about.

I bought this car in February of 08, and unfortunately I drive it a lot, it already has 20,000+ miles on it but still rides like I just drove it off the lot. I have gotten 33+ mpg's a few times on this v6 engine. It's amazing. I usually get however 29-31 mpg's in it, so still not bad. It did better than my 2002 Honda Accord that was a 4 cylinder! The stereo sounds great and the newer model (especially the SE) has a great sexy look to it. I LOVE the front end of the car and the back end looks great too. The hp in the v6 is definitely nice. It definitely can get up and go when you need it to without it buckling down. I drove a Ford Fusion before and it was a nice car but I'm glad I got the Camry instead, because just from experience with Toyota's I KNOW it will last me forever. One last point is the Camry does spectacular in the snow....read morehide

A/C stinks, does not cool well, sluggish transmission, decent fuel use

At first very happy with car. Then after about six months noticed foul musty odor coming from AC which only gets stronger with time. Taken to dealer 3 times to no avail. All the dealer does is change the filter and spray deodorizer inside the vents. On the 3rd trip to address problem, the dealer said they will have to take down the dashboard! Toyota claims to not be aware of defect despite countless complaints by others online. This AC complaint has been made about other toyota models too. I will be getting rid of this car after just 1 yr because of this problem and a lack of confidence and trust in toyota....read morehide
