Pros:Great fuel mileage, comfortable car, leather great, good stero, smooth ride
Cons:nine

Great gas mileage just got back from a 4200 mile trip averaged over 37 mpg that with the trunk loaded down which i had plenty of room for everything. Constantialy averaging 40 miles mpg to work and back which is 2oo mile a day trip. What can i say its a great car thinking of buying another one for my second car.

BUY THIS CAR!

by DAVID S JOHNSON from SPRING, TEXAS (5/02/08)
Pros:Awesome Fuel Economy
Cons:Pick up is slow, Some rattles and I HATE the navigation

This car is beautiful and I love the car overall. I average 40 MPG!!! That is my biggest thrill. Yes, it is no corvette, but you learn to drive differently-better for MPG and better for the environment. I would not trade this car for anything else. It is comfortable and very advanced....now to the negatives....if you need trunk space-this is NOT the car for you...thelarge battery hogs half of the trunk of the car. Also if you like the ease of Honda navigation systems, you will HATE the Toyota Navigation. The system is NOT intuitive, the voice recognition does not work well and it is just cumberson to use. Toyota please retool this to be more like Honda. Finally, there are some rattles, but OVERALL I love the car and now that gas is RIDICULOUSLY high-this car will pay for itself quicker than before!!

I LOVE THIS HYBRID

by Steve Z from Allentown, PA (4/29/08)
Pros:Environmentally friendly, thrifty on gas, very stylish, good quality
Cons:None in the over 2,600 miles I have driven this car since last February 2008

This is my first non-US built car. I traded in a garage-kept 2003 LeSabre Limited with less than 37K on the odometer because of fuel and size concerns. I REALLY like this car and find a whole new level of driving 'fun' from watching the meters and learning how to use the electric engine to maximum advantage. It always gets in the 30 MPG range as a minimum - which was twice that of the Buick. I got mine in 'jasper pearl' (light mint green) which is only available in the hybrid model. I get LOTS of nice compliments on the car. Friends who have taken 'test drives' are also impressed. I still have my 1999 Town & Country minivan for the big stuff, but since most of my driving is in the city - I find myself always using this car and leaving the minivan at home. The trunk in the Camry is a perfect size for my needs. I wish a US car company had something like this, but since they don't - I am a new, happily-satisfied Toyota customer.

BTW - After two months, my old Buick is still on the used car lot - nobody will touch it. A shame, but that's the reality these days.

Buy This Car!

by John from Charleston, WV (4/29/08)
Pros:MPG is outstanding
Cons:After 14 months, none found

Update for new readers. Our Camry is 14 months old, wife averages 38.2 mpg around town. Best we've done is 42.3 on flat ground. Car has not been in the shop for anything other than regular oil changes. For those that say trunk space is limited, you are right, but we found that packing in duffle bags rather than suit cases worked for a family of 4 for a 5 day vacation. Car was in an accident and while it was being repaired we sure did miss it.

Our camry is fully loaded and worth every penny. I would buy this same car in an instant. My brother-in-law drove ours for a couple of days to see it he would like it and he liked it so much he went a bought one the day after he returned mine. They are average just under 37 mpg on theirs.

Toyota quality lives on!

GO for it!! A smooth. comfortable ride that saves.

by Smiling in a TCH! from Toms River, N.J. (4/26/08)
Pros:Comfortable, stylish, money saver
Cons:Navigation System not accessible when driving.

I purchased this car in Sept.2007. I relied on the Camry's reputation , but took a chance, after some convincing, on the hybrid. It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made in a car. This car is smooth and comfortable, and has made me a more conservative driver. I am averaging 39 mpg, which is a combination of more highway than city.Driving a hybrid is a learning experience as you accommodate the many gauges and relearn how to drive economically. It does take some time to adjust to how quiet the car is, but now I bask in the glory of how much gas I am saving while idling at a red light or in traffic. There is a certain pleasure in watching the gauges fall into all electric mode as others burning gas around you. This car makes a quiet statement of an environmentally aware driver. I bought my TCH loaded ,and have had it compared to a Lexus. Do NOT hesitate in buying one, I have 9,400 miles on it and could not be happier.

Electro glide ride :)

by Bleach from Seabrook, Md (4/16/08)
Pros:I get more than the listed mpg. I'm around 36 average.
Cons:The GPS operates from disk They do not track changes. New ones are expensive

I'm very satisfied but it cost much. It has a good ride, fast pick up and there is room in the trunk. I often go to the gas pump once in two weeks. Spacious interior with very low emissions! But it's expensive. Young folks buy them used if you can find one! Trade in your old car you won't regret it.
I heard the 08 is less expensive than the 07. So maybe what they say is true about green technology getting less expensive with time. However, I'm happy. It's my Cadillac. I drove cab for 12 years. Believe me. It's a good ride.

A green class act

by Bill from Fairfax, VA (4/16/08)
Pros:MPG Economy, appearance,
Cons:None that I see.

I have almost 2000 miles on my hybrid right now and I love it. One long trip that gave me 37.7 MPG... very happy and everyone envious. Details are impeccable and ride is comfy. A terrific long-haul car with these high gas prices.

Great Car!

by JJ from Atlanta (4/03/08)
Pros:37 MPG average, quiet, MP3 player, Bluetooth for Phone
Cons:Passenger seat

Had the Camry Hybrid since Feb '08. It is fun to drive in Atlanta traffic. The more congested the traffic the better the fuel economy.
Each tank gets average of 520 miles which lasts me 3 weeks.
The only quirk I have found is the passenger seat vibrates a little when it is unoccupied. I believe this year and model was made in Georgetown, Kentucky.
I would reccomend it to anyone looking for a solid, fuel efficient car.

Happy with the vehicle

by KMayfield from Houston, Texas (4/03/08)
Pros:Fuel Economy, comfort and looks
Cons:Small trunk; wish Toyota had equivalent of OnStar

Have had this car for over a year now. Gas mileage is great, although not as great as the dash readout tends to reflect. The trunk is very small - will not hold 2 large suitcases, nor will it hold a wheelchair (it will hold a small transport chair). Besides the fuel economy (which I think can continue to be improved), so far I've been pleased that there have been no mechanical issues.

The best-selling car in the US in a hybrid version

by Solar Scot from San Diego, CA (4/01/08)
Pros:Gas mileage, great overall ride
Cons:Blind spots, incorrect calculations

This car is a pleasure to drive. As an environmentalist, I wanted a Prius, but my wife could not deal with the aesthetics. We compromised and got the Camry hybrid. Great move. I feel much more safe than in a Prius, and though it doesn't get the same MPG, it does well, and is more low-profile.

The computer that tells you temperature, MPG, range, etc. is a neat feature, but don't trust it fully. Typically, it says that we are averaging about 36 MPG, but in dividing the miles by the gallons of gas bought, it's closer to 34. Still, not bad.

There is a huge blind spot in the typical blind spot area. You can almost forget about looking over your shoulder to see if there is a car there. You're better off sticking a little bubble mirror on the side mirrors.

One thing to note is the controversy over using "B" mode. I have used it often in lieu of the pedal brake to slow down. It seems to charge the battery quickly & the instantaneous MPG shoots up. However, some techie sites indicate that it can actually decrease mileage. I'll just stick to using it down hills. What a great car!
