I rented this car for a few days. The ride and engine performance are OK. The seat is a little uncomfortable, but is easy to adjust. The car is very easily damaged. There are no real bumpers and the slightest bump will shatter tail lights. This car suffers from blind spots, especially on the sides and on the rear. Backing this car up is like backing up a truck....read morehide

The good: Good engine performance, great gas mileage for a V6, nice compromise between comfort and handling with SE tuned suspension. Not as tight as some pricier sport sedans, but adequate for most conditions. The 6-speed auto shifts smoothly, helps car get 30+mpg on interstate. Typical smooth, effortless Toyota engine, quiet ride.
Negative: Hesitation from transmission on acceleration. Chinsy interior components, cheap plastic inside, would expect more from an SE upgrade. Have had more nuisance maintenance issues with this Toyota than all previous ones combined. Squeaks in dash, rattling moonroof - have had them fixed. Only 20K miles and all these squeaks and rattles? Interior fit and finish doesn't match up to Toyota quality of past.
If I had to do it again I would buy the V6 Accord....read morehide

I bought this car in February of 08, and unfortunately I drive it a lot, it already has 20,000+ miles on it but still rides like I just drove it off the lot. I have gotten 33+ mpg's a few times on this v6 engine. It's amazing. I usually get however 29-31 mpg's in it, so still not bad. It did better than my 2002 Honda Accord that was a 4 cylinder! The stereo sounds great and the newer model (especially the SE) has a great sexy look to it. I LOVE the front end of the car and the back end looks great too. The hp in the v6 is definitely nice. It definitely can get up and go when you need it to without it buckling down. I drove a Ford Fusion before and it was a nice car but I'm glad I got the Camry instead, because just from experience with Toyota's I KNOW it will last me forever. One last point is the Camry does spectacular in the snow....read morehide

I recommend everybody to get the V6 instead of the 4 cylinders. The power is so much different, and mpg is not that much of the diffferent.

I've had my SE V6 for 1.5 weeks now...and I'm lovin it. This car is fun to drive. It has plenty of power and hugs turns like the tires are glued to the pavement.
Initially, I was hesitant on the V6 because it wasn't recommended by Consumer Reports last year. I did some research and found that early 2007 Camry V6's had some problems and Toyota has since fixed it. So far, my V6 and trannie have been running flawlessly.
For such a sporty car, the SE V6 is very affordable. I went through the Costco Auto Buying Program ($500 over invoice) and ending up purchasing the vehicle at invoice ($26,200). It's worth every penny....read morehide

I am disgusted in my purchasing the Camry with the hesitation problem, bad fuel economy, poor quality, high price, short warranty and poor service. Now, I read that Consumer Report will not recommend the Camry, plus three other Toyota products with bad transmission problems, bad 4X4 performance, rattles, etc. Toyota surely isn't thinking anymore about quality of its cars, but instead making money is the foremost thing about them! Lexus and Tundra are others on the bad list as reported....read morehide
