27 mpg in city driving /35 mpg on the freeway with a/c on, drives and handels good, driver to steering wheel distance is too far makes it very uncomfortable on long drives, could use 5 speed auto trany.

This is a great car. I got it for $9,500 with a 100,000 mile service plan. Very afforadable for the college student with great fuel economy; I get 33-mpg regularily and that is mostly city driving.
The only down side is that it is a basic car. Interior is cheap and there are no bells an whistles. No power locks or windows. But it's a corolla, it's entry level. It will last me forever and at low cost....read morehide

For value, comfort, price, and reliability their is no better car on the road. It's a little boring to drive but what hay I don't live in it. A civic may be more fun to drive as well as better looking. But the important things here are reliability, MPG, quality, and price. The Corolla is equal and better then the Civic on price....read morehide

I get 40mpg at the highway with my Corolla! I work for home health care so I put in around 2.5k miles/month. Buying my Toyota has been the best decision ever.

Seems well put together at first. Two years later have had several pieces of interior trim replaced due to defects and 1 fuel pump. Drives well in the city but not on the highway. Dealer was so-so.

I drive a 'standard' Toyota Corolla as my work vehicle, and the first thing I noticed is the steering wheel is too far away from the driver.
The safety rating is rather low, which is scary.
This car doesn't feel safe or handle very well at high speeds (it gets loose quite easily when swerving back & forth or when it's windy).
It gets great gas mileage, though, and is very affordable, very reliable, and has good acceleration for a 4-cylinder car, and drives great around town.
I have 60,000 miles on it, and it's only been in the shop for regular maintenance (oil, brakes & tires) so far....read morehide

(2005 S) Turned mine into a mini Lexus! 55,000 miles never been in the shop. I drive it like I stole it and it still gets 34 mpg all day!
I replaced the front brakes at 48000 miles. This car has never failed me I can't decide if I want a 09 or to see if I can run this baby to a million miles. Maybe both! It still looks like new! This is the only car I just never get tired of driving. It still turns heads everywhere!...read morehide
