I really want to love this truck but I can't get past the slamming my head into the top of the door frame every time I get in (and I'm 5'10"). Suggestion to Toyota lower seat about 5-6" and choose a wheel size that doesn't cost $225.00 a corner to re-skin.

Overall I am very pleased with this truck. I purchased this new in '08 and this is just the base 'no frills' Tacoma. I am extremely impressed with this truck. The 2.7L I4 definitely feels like a 4 banger, but is plenty adequate during normal use. I average around 22-23mpg and can usually get around 490-500 miles on a tank. I love the custom rubber bedmat and adjustable tie down hooks, which are included. However, they really need to get rid of the non-adjustable bench seats, which can be very uncomfortable on long trips! Also, they need to put better tires on this truck out of the factory, they are horrendous on slippery roads!...read morehide

I have owned this truck for about 10 months now. I am very pleased with it. The nice thing is that this truck is already wired for cruise control and intermittant wipers. I installed the cruise myself for about $120. It made a world of difference. Comfort level went way up for me.

ive owned a 2008 silverado, my 2009 Tacoma comparitively is my favorite, I have a Prerunner TRD Sport Double Cab V-6 and I prefer it over the Silverado, it handles great unlike the Silverado which was boaty, not to mention the value of my Silverado fell 33% the first year

Rough ride

I to had the vibration issue with chatter in the steering wheel. They changed all 4 tires and then had to rebalance the front two a second time. Chatter has gone away, but ride is still a bit rough. Other than that I like the feel of the truck and the room. MPG is not bad at 20, but did notice with the city you are doing x mph signs around town show I am going 2 - 3 mph below the odometer, so that may be a false sense of gas mileage....read morehide

Would deffinetly recomend this truck. I love the double cab for hauling things you dont want in weather and passengers have plenty of leg room in back.

Since its not a Pre-Runner as per toyota's appraiser, resale value of 4 cylinder tacoma is very low. Very disappointed and will never buy a toyota again or even recommend it
