I bought the car one year ago. Since then I'm in love with it. It drives nice and driving on the highway is a pleasure. When you are in full throttle though the car is very noisy and you can feel vibrations in the wheel. The automatic transmission is too slow when it changes gears and at times is changing the gears wrong.
Despite all the above problems you never feel that the car is cheap. You have the same sensation as you would have in a much bigger car. Good mpgs, but for me not as good as presented before...read morehide

We actually own 2 Yaris's. We had a need for a 2nd car and since we already had a 2007, we went ahead and got a 2008.
Everything is great! The stock sound system is even good. If we needed a 3rd car we would get another.

I think for the money I paid for this car it is a great economy vechile . I did not expect it to ride like a cadilac. I have gotten 38 miles to the Gallon with mixed driving. So I can over look the bumpy ride.

My Yaris is a 2007 model, I bought it in April 2006. I was looking for a nice reliable fuel efficient car to use as a commuter vehicle. I drive about 100 miles per day. This car has certainly delivered! I get 38 to 40 MPG, I am over 6ft tall and have plenty of leg and head room, the car handles like a higher end vehicle, and it has plenty of get up and go. The instrument panel is in the center of the dash. This took some getting used to at first, but now I think I actually prefer it. With all my driving I have over 75,000 miles on the car now and have done nothing to it other than routine maintenance. Great car!!!...read morehide

I mainly bought this little commuter for fuel economy and realiability. Over all, good transportation for in town and short trip driving but I don't recommend for long trips on highways. This is our 2nd car and my wife will be driving most of the time.
I didn't think I was going like the center placed dash but I actually like it now, It's not bad as it looks. I think it's because the car is small. rented this while having my old Ford Ranger repaired & looking at new vehicles. ...and I thought my truck had a bad ride...this feels like it will bounce off it wheels. The interior was so-so, I thought looked cheap as so many Toyotas do. (Exception high end camry other cars I looked were better especially impressed with the Hyundai) Was not impressed. I bought my Yaris Sedan around March I see alot of comments about how this car has great mileage or even better than advertised mileage, but for me (I don't know if this has anything to do with the fact that I live in New York), I haven't been even getting close to what was advertised. If im lucky I'll get 29-30mpg. This is my main complaint.

Another thing is the dashboard being in the middle, honestly when i bought it I already knew it was in the middle but it still feels awkward after a while.

I do really like the size of the car because I am a relatively small girl so it just makes it easier to handle for me versus a bigger sized car like the Camry or Nissan Altima. And a perk is that its much easier to slide into those smaller parking spaces for a car packed NYC....read morehide

We bought a Yaris Liftback in May and were very happy with it. (That car is used mostly in town) We were so happy with the Liftback that in July we bought a Sedan. The Fuel economy is teriffic! Lowest mileage ever was a tank of 'in town' travel that got us 29.1 mpg. On a recent trip (using air-conditioning), we got 39 mpg. Wow! All of that and it uses regular unleaded gasoline! The sedan has a big trunk and a 2/3 divided of the seat to allow for carrying something larger. The turning radius is very small making a tight 'U' turn a breeze. Cute interior & exterior and YOU WONT EVEN BELIEVE the gas mileage on this car!!! I went from a gas guzzling suv to THIS and I couldn’t be any happier. When I first purchased the car I seriously thought the digital gas meter was broken, it didn’t move for 100 miles. I get about 470-490 on an 11 gal. tank of gas which by the way only cost 35 dollars to fill up!! I LOVE this cute little fuel saving machine! I love everything about it. Hope Toyota lives up to their dependable name. No complaints so far though. Ill let you know if I have any though. :D...read morehide
